  1. I don’t know what happened, if it’s a mechanical thing, or a confidence thing that snowballed, or what. I do know the rest of our arms largely being a dumpster fire or injured seems to have prevented him from fixing it. I really think he needs to go down to be able to work on mechanics and build some confidence. Every time he’s gone down there’s an injury or something that has led to him being called right back up. He’s never had 3-4 weeks in San Antonio to make adjustments. If our pen was stable they could have afforded to let him stay down earlier in the year. If we somehow right the ship and make the playoffs he needs to be effective to make a deep run. We don’t have a ton of arms with top end stuff, but he’s one of the few who does. He needs to go down and stay there till he figures it out. He’s a huge piece to not only this year, but our window in general.
  2. Cool to have Yelich and Bellinger mic’d. When you think about all star games in general I think MLB is doing it as well as any sport. Competitive yet open to fan entertainment. Yelich on juiced baseballs: “I’m not a scientist, they’re fine the way they are.”
  3. The all star game is entertaining to me strictly on individual matchups. I love watching best on best, and tonight will offer some great individual matchups at the plate.
  4. It had already been raining steady at that point for a while. It was pretty inevitable the game was going to get halted. Getting an ab for Anderson's spot wasn't a bad call. (Imo) I get that train of thought, but it was being talked about like it was switched because of the delay. I don’t agree with it because of the state of our pen and it being a day game. They were going to finish it. Let Chase pitch to the delay. If it was a night game where rain had a better chance of ending it early then I would agree with it.
  5. Again, he was taken out because there was a rain delay. It was the smart move. Crappy luck for the Brewers and Anderson, but sometimes it just happens. Can't do much about the rain unless you have a retractable roof or a dome... Counsell was in a bad spot NOT of his making... made the best call he could. Again, he wasn’t pulled during the delay. Counsel might say he pulled him for a PH knowing rain was coming and wanted offense in case the game was called. Claudio pitched prior to the delay.
  6. Anderson was not taken out during the rain delay. Claudio had pitched an inning before the delay.
  7. The side view of that Hiura swing is ridiculous. Looked like it was an infield pop up if you only saw that view.
  8. Yea, he’s been burned multiple times this week pulling a cruising starter early. This pen just can’t cover innings like last year. It’s like he never adjusted his coaching strategy from last year. It worked last year, but this isn’t the same pen.
  9. He's been a starter his entire career and this year he pitches 5 times a week. Might have something to do with it. He pitched exclusively as a starter one season of his entire career. Every other season he’s pitched some out of the pen, even through the minors.
  10. Why Guerra again when other pen arms have been better lately and more rested???
  11. The Seinfeld references are getting really old
  12. If Melky gets launch angle he would’ve had a loss. That was a rocket, if it’s in the air it’s prolly still rolling.
  13. Shocked that we pitch our worst pitcher in this situation....talk about taking a lead for granted. 5 run game is mop up duty, that’s exactly where you use him. There weren’t a lot of options left.
