  1. What a heads up play by Perez to realize Albers wasn’t covering.
  2. Not a good throw, but in MLB that’s gotta be picked.
  3. Compared steals and home runs from 1900 on and no duplicates. I don’t think anyone has won both during their careers. I thought someone like Mays or Bonds could’ve won a SB title early in their careers but didn’t notice anyone on both lists. For sure not same year.
  4. Purely a guess, but I’d guess people have done both, but not in the same year.
  5. Braun swinging at some awful pitches. Just not seeing it from Pomeranz.
  6. Hit any out? Unfortunately, no. I did swing the Braun bat a few times and it’s no wonder he’s late on inside pitches. Thing is a log. Had some good contact though. Gap to gap! Awesome experience! I feel like I would not have realistic expectations for myself, then get grumpy when I didn’t hit some dingers.
  7. Would need a fire to sit outside here, a balmy 57 degrees... welcome to Wisconsin.
  8. During the school year I do as well, but in the summer I love it. We have young kids and with a 9 PM start I can sit down and watch the game in peace and quiet. Tonight will be relaxing bliss!
  9. Does this guy struggle from the stretch? The intro of the thread mentioned going to a full wind up. Sure seems different with runners on. That Arcia blooper may have been a key to the inning, just to get him out of the windup.
  10. Odd how it's gone from too many starters, to can't find enough serviceable starter, back to almost having a log jam again.
  11. Was driving home from the store, so got the radio call from Uecker on that one. He has his hiccups now, but nailed that one. Still awesome to listen to.
  12. How much would you love to see how an automated ball/strike caller would compare to what the umps call, and focus on pitches where the calls are different. It doesn’t seem like it would take much for the automatic calls to be better, or at least more consistent. If nothing else it would remove any personal bias that an umpire might have for or against certain hitters and pitchers. Hopefully the minor league trials go well and it’s here sooner than later.
  13. Signed with the Braves.
  14. I don’t see him being a dominant closer. No real logic as to why even, just my thoughts. He wasn’t great at the end of last year, now he’s jumping into a season without a true spring training. Boston didn’t seem to pursue bringing him back. I think this turns out to be a bad deal for the Cubs.
