  1. If we're talking deGrom through 2020 I'm interested. No way it's worth a rental bat. Yep, that follows what's been the blue print so far. I just can't even comprehend giving up 6 years of a cheap young arm for 3 months of a bat.
  2. I posted it and I never said they would be blowouts. I said it could very well happen. Don't misquote me like that. This isn't the first time this year that Hader sat too long in the pen and gave up runs when he finally saw some action. It's ok to use him for one lousy inning. I just don't like the way CC uses him. Why must he always pitch multiple innings? Then he sits mulitiple days and then when he finally is available he doesn't get in for a couple more games anyway because the situation doesn't dictate it. If that's the way Hader is going to be used you might as well convert him into a starter. Otherwise I would rather see him as a one inning guy who only needs one day of rest, if that, and get more appearences out of him than pitching him 2-3 innings and being unavailable for 2-3 games. Hard to misquote you when I never quoted you at all... jeesh quite the testy IGT tonight. Guess people had rough Monday
  3. Hitters get paid not to swing at them. Jesus and the year he’s having lays off them far more often than not. I just felt like he might have chased being a little over aggressive in a big spot. Didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers that much with an observation
  4. Three... there are three... and they are wearing stupidly bright shirts
  5. He looked like a batter trying to do the “right” thing and hit the ball the other way Trying to hit it the other way isn’t the “right” thing if it’s 8 inches off the plate.
  6. The funniest part of the whole Hader argument is I remember a post from the Braves series calling for Hader to be used because the Marlins games would be blowouts and we wouldn’t need him anyways. BASEBALL!!!!!!
  7. All the fans left except the three guys wearing neon green that I can’t unsee...
  8. Imagine what opposing fans thought when Sogard used to bat. Especially people who don’t really follow baseball, but occasionally go out to games, and pretty much get all their info from the jumbo tron. I usually end up sitting by those people, lol.
  9. Our pitchers throwing a lot of fastballs to a team who have crushed fastballs all night. Williams finally went off speed and had him way out front.
  10. I know I made posts early in the year about Hader Jeffress and Albers pitching too often and getting wore out before the playoffs.
  11. I’m watching Nottingham circle under that with Williams and Jesus sort of hesitant at first. Glad the big guy took charge!
  12. Oh, so Counsell is perfect, and since he has the best bullpen in baseball he can't be criticized? please. He can be criticized but nobody watching this game thinks Hader looked rusty, he was just fine and got too much of the plate with 2 pitches. One of them most likely because he was being squeezed by the ump. Blaming Counsell for that is just trying to fit your narrative to the story, it has no basis in truth. I’m watching and think he looked rusty. The missed strike three was the 9th pitch and the homer the 10th. How many times have you seen Hader need that many pitches to put someone away? I also don’t blame Counsell, I get his reasons.
  13. It sure hasn’t happened often but if you use 2 of the big 3 and lose the lead you sure feel like you need runs quickly.... Playing the Marlins at least they don’t have a ton of good options out there either if it goes extras.
  14. Good time for Shaw to show up! Him getting hot sure would be nice.
  15. He made a better pitch in a better spot - the ump missed it. Then in the pitchers head he needs to get more of the plate, which he did, and it got hit 400 feet. So yea, you can say the ump had an effect.
