  1. If Sheets would somehow happen to strike out 19 Mets, he would become the Brewers career leader in strikeouts, surpassing Teddy Higuera.
  2. There's a decent article on the Brewers at sportingnews.com- link
  3. Wes Helms was traded from the Phillies back to the Marlins. Hideo Nomo is still hanging on. He has been called up by the Royals. Wise and Vizcaino to the DL; Johnny Estrada (not on the master list) is off the DL and makes his Nationals debut.
  4. Yes 7-3 Dave Rasmussen went up to bat for the Saints, but it was an exhibition game and he can only loosely be described as a baseball player, as he just somewhat waved at three straight pitches, with no real chance to hit the ball. Publicity stunt would probably be accurate, somewhat like giving a 60-year-old actor an at bat...
  5. I was just thinking about posting about this. I think it's funny considering all the hype I heard about the Tigers this offseason and how the lineup was going to be the newest best lineup in all of baseball. But while it may be frustrating, it's nothing close to devastating.
  6. Treego, is that picture of you.....?
  7. He had 10 Ks in 7 innings? The Brewers often get pitchers their career high in strikeouts. Win or lose, this one could be in the 12-15 strikeout range.
  8. Where in the world did you find that gem? baseballreference? Actually, on mlb.com, you can get the Brewers historical stats, sorted by any stat you like. Sorting by saves, I can see that the pitchers with zero saves start at #123. Although this does include the Seattle Pilots season of 1969.
  9. Kapler is the 267th Brewer player to hit at least one HR. Gagne is the 123rd Brewer pitcher to record at least one save. Parra is the 248th Brewer pitcher to record at least one win. Just FYI.
  10. So much for the much-improved defense.
  11. The Brewers now have 5 pitchers on the roster that have earned a save for them. Gagne is not one of them.
  12. Who here thought both Riske and Torres would earn saves for the Brewers before Gagne?
  13. It's Torres to stay in for the save.
  14. Ok Kendall made it to 900 and here's the list, from baseball-reference.com, of course: 1. Fisk 1276 2. Rodriguez 1210 3. Berra 1175 4. Ewing 1129 5. Bench 1091 6. Simmons 1074 7. Piazza 1048 8. Cochrane 1041 9. Carter 1025 10. Torre 996 11. Dickey 930 12. Kendall 900
  15. Here is what MLB.com comes up with, but it must be runs scored only while playing C: 1. Berra 11122. Bench 1001 3. Dickey 930 4. Rodriguez 852 5. Hartnett 847 6. Cochrane 823 7. Posada 744 8. Simmons 736 9. Kendall 706 10. Munson 696
  16. This is what I wanted to say. For someone who presumably thought about retirement upon being traded to the Brewers, it is nice to see that he is now apparently excited about being here and his role in the bullpen.
  17. Nelson Figueroa has been called up by the Mets to take the roster spot of Pedro Martinez. According to the above list, the Mets were already the leader in former Brewers, now there's 6. Wes Helms has been designated for assignment by the Phillies; I'm sure this is already being discussed elsewhere.
  18. I think Prince did tag him in time for the out, but it sure looked to me that all he had to do was step on first base. Why did he go for the tag instead?
  19. FYI, Weeks is now tied for 6th in most career HBP by a Brewer batter.
  20. I didn't see it mentioned, but the game is also on WGN.
  21. My excitement is building despite the weather... I'm probably being overly optimistic. This is going to be torture if we have to wait too extra long to play this game.
  22. Canseco picture Canseco family picture
  23. If you watched WGN today, you may have seen Mark DiFelice, Sam Narron, Derek Miller, Melqui Torres, Joe Bateman, EJ Shanks, Matt Cline, Lorenzo Cain, Chuck Caufield, Martin Maldonado, Caleb Gindl, and Taylor Green. Of note would be Bateman's two scoreless innings, a base hit by Gindl, and a nice play at the plate by Maldonado to tag out a Cub runner.
  24. Sorry that's what I meant, anyone know why it's not available on mlb.com audio? I suppose Brian and Bill are doing the video feed and no one is available for the audio?
  25. Does anyone know why this game is not available on mlb.com?
