  1. Gomez is some kind of player (at times) Just got a big RBI single off of our old friend Edinson V. My old friend Rasmus (not) has been walked to death in this game. About time. Tell me Guys, what was the deal with Gomez? I thought he was a fan fave for the Brewers. Every team needs at least one firecracker guy I figure.
  2. I'm cool with Kaat but I'm sick to death of Costas! http://score670.com/phpBB/images/smilies/icon_puke_l.gif This Tex/Canada game is really exciting. What a great crowd!
  3. Yeah...that seems to be the case. But he certainly has the Cards baffled with that sweeping curve........Oh my....Davis!
  4. Hey Guys.....thought I would drop by tonight, but it looks like slim pickings around here! If anyone drops in: What's the 411 on Pena? Is he the real deal? He looks it so far.
  5. Big black eye for the organization. But I see no way in hell GM Mozelic gets fired. They can blame it on some crazy employee, but it's been my experience that cheaters are notorious apple polishers, meaning whoever is responsible would make SURE that the boss knew he was doing it. Otherwise, what's the point? The lying, cheating LaRussa dodged steroid bullets for years when everybody and his mother knew who was using. To this day he won't admit his part in it....Mo' will never admit it either.
  6. Good win last night, Boys. Garcia was good, but Fiers was better. Electric, effective wildness at its best. Also, Carpenter seemed to be in a trance up there...looking at borderline strikes and not pulling the trigger With Molina and Holliday losing their power, Adams laid up and Carpenter in a daze the Cards ain't scoring many runs lately.
  7. Cards already destroyed by the Mets and I have nothing to watch so I thought I would drop in and root you guys on. I don't like the Braves. I actually hated them in the 90's! I would love to see them finish last in the East.
  8. I don't understand why we signed Reynolds....he's a bum! ......Oh! Nice play by Parra.
  9. Yup....I saw another pitcher today from the AL that has the same weird jump off the rubber, a little more pronounced. But neither one is a shut-down type pitcher. If the teams make a fuss the league will ban it.
  10. A tough pitch and he got a hit out of it. Cant ask for more......what's going on here?? No catch? Definitely. Hopefully it'll get Aram going. Easy to see on the replay but watching it live I thought it bounced first too. Nice that they have replay to correct that stuff. I totally agree.

The former Reds' backstop, battling a similar bout of depression that caused his teammate Willard Hershberger to commit suicide in 1940, is given little hope to live, at the time, but he will manage to survive his horrific self-inflicted wound. 1999 - After participating in 243 major league games, Jim Abbott finally gets his first at-bat, grounding out to third base in the Brewers' 9-4 loss to St. Louis at Busch Stadium. The 31 year-old southpaw, born without a right hand, signed with Milwaukee in the off season after spending the first nine years of his career in the American League. Later, in June, Abbott would get his first safety.
  14. Are you talking about the new "MLB Central" show on MLB Network? That show covers the whole league, not just the NL (or AL) central division. Oh! http://libertyunyield.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Emily-LItella-300x194.jpg
  15. 1973 Orlando Cepeda, who was specifically signed to fill the role of the newly created position of designated hitter, goes 0-for-6 when the Red Sox pound out 20 hits in a 15-5 rout of the Yankees at Fenway Park on Opening Day. The future Hall of Famer misses out on a place in baseball history after the top of the first inning is extended by a misjudged bloop hit and two walks, giving Ron Blomberg, batting sixth for the Bronx Bombers, the opportunity to be the first player to come to the plate as the DH. Nice trivia question.
  16. I wonder if this program will be permanent? Anyone know? I've been wondering for years why a baseball station did not have 6 different division shows so we don't have to suffer through AL East junk!
  17. Jericho, being exposed as cheaters HAD to be tough on the kids, particularly the ones that were over age. Of course, you know that kids can't keep a secret. They all knew the ringers. But I'm sure the adults told them that every team had 'em to justify the scam. What's a kid to do?
  18. Just a few words on the little league scam: The blame goes entirely to the parents and team officials. Did the kids know they were breaking the rules? Absolutely! But kids do what the grownups tell them to do. Everyone that thinks they can cheat and get away with it WILL, regardless of age, but the blame has to go to the cheating adults. I think the trophy should be returned to the team that didn't get caught. (I assume it was) http://a57.foxnews.com/global.fncstatic.com/static/managed/img/U.S./876/493/jackie-robinson-west.jpg?ve=1&tl=1
  19. I don't know if you're serious or not, but I believe the Cubs will now contend all the way into September. Barring any blockbuster acquisitions I can see them finishing ahead of the Cards, Brewers and Reds. It's going to be one hell of a season in the Central!
  20. Big props to the Giants. There's no reason to criticize Matheny for bringing in Wacha, who had pitched only 6 innings since June, and sent in to the highest leverage position imaginable. The Giants were great and Bochy's managing was near flawless. Even if the Cards pulled the game out, the Giants were still going to win the pennant. They're the best team to represent the NL vs. that incredible KC ball club. It's been fun, see you guys next Spring.
