  1. I didn't see last night's game (I guess I was fortunate...) but I heard Wong got hurt? Any news on him?
  2. This mess might be because of Haines but if they don't get it going pretty darn quick somebody's head is gonna roll and it may not be just him. A coach will get the axe before a player will.
  3. It is difficult to get anything going when you've only played in 12 of 43 games so far this season.
  4. Can’t disagree much with that. Some of this looks like more than just a rough patch. We’re 25% of the season in now. I’d almost rather see them cut a couple of the AAAA players and call up anyone else who might want a chance to play in the majors. Hiura’s demotion was called for. But other than that, poor play doesn’t seem to have any consequences. What is really nuts is even with this putrid offense right now we are still only 2 and a half games out of first. I wonder whose head(s) will roll if this mess isn't turned around quick...
  5. It is. All this shows is the guys are human. They are not going to be wonderful every day. Thankfully today the offense came thru.
  6. If I were Counsell I'd watch my back. When things go south like this the manager is usually the first to go. These hitters shouldn't look this pathetic. We can't blame not having Yelich or Huira any longer.
  7. Until Love actually plays in a preseason game and shows anything he isn't going anywhere. I can't see another club's GM forking over much for this kid until then.
  8. There hasn't been much coming from his lips about all of this. A lot of it is innuendo and second hand opinions from "journalists" and teammates. Until I hear something definitive from the horse's mouth I'm not going to put much stock into any of these 'stories'.
  9. Perhaps a new set of eyes and perspective is needed here. Whatever the approach is now clearly isn't working.
  10. Getting to be?? Under statement frankly. They go into every game knowing if you give up three that might be the game. We all wanted them to develop some home grown pitching but now we see you can't win with that alone. Might be time to see what Hader can get on the market. The price may never be higher. I did say this sorry hitting has been an issue for a while. What/who could we get for Hader today? And would this player be the elixir for what is needed to turn this around while we wait for God knows how long for Yelich's back to heal and Huira to learn how to hit again?
  11. This anemic offense is getting to be a serious problem. They cannot buy a hit to save their lives. You can't win games if you cannot score. We are squandering a good pitching staff with this mess. And hitting has been a problem for this club for a while now. If this isn't turned around quick I hope heads roll.
  12. If they don't right the ship soon we'll be lucky if we win 75. We have no Hiura, Yelich, Narvaez, Pina, Anderson, Lindblom, Burnes...the list goes on and on.
  13. When you only have like 4 position players on the bench, and one of those is the backup catcher, there aren’t likely to be a lot of good PH options if you have to start using them in the 4th inning. Like it matters when they are essentially throwing in the towel with the pitchers they’re forced to use. It’s pretty likely the Marlins will be getting to double digits today as they continue to look like a much better team than the Brewers. The Marlins actually know how to hit a baseball.
  14. This is why I was so disappointed they didn’t sign any decent bats this off-season. Like 2020 they are depending on a lot of subpar players and it’s not going well. With even a mediocre offense this team could be quite good. Doesn’t help that Yelich is injured and lost his power even when playing and that Hiura forgot how to hit. The offense these two years reminds me of the early 2000’s meager years. How could we have known this past offseason Yelich would be out for most of the first 5 weeks and Hiura forgot how to hit so was sent to the minors? It hasn't helped to lose our starting and backup catcher either. Another blow was losing Burnes on top of it all. Now we have to start Suter instead today. Let's hope it won't be too long before we get some of these key players back and right this ship...
  15. Let's hope a stint in the minors will fix whatever issues Keston is having at the plate.
