  1. But even if they get in my some miracle they aren't gonna do much anyway with the way they are playing. But it would be fun to win the next 2 and keep those damn Cards out too.
  2. Even the Reds? The Reds suck. They really do. They got hot a week ago. They'll probably drop at least two this weekend to the Twins. That team is not very good. Yes they do, but if they continue to play like they are right now ya never know...
  3. I really wonder if Yelich is the best person to have as a leader in the clubhouse. He is when it comes to the way he plays and he should be a model for younger guys but he doesn't appear to me to be a rah-rah kind of guy. We might be missing Cain's clubhouse leadership a lot more than we could foresee before opted out of this season.
  4. Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant have also been terrible, while David freaking Bote looks like Carl Yastrzemski. 2020 is a weird, sucky year. Is it because of the shortened season where guys are pressing? Is it because there aren't fans in attendance for the players to feed off of?
  5. Outside of a dozen or so games our offense has been in hibernation all season. IMO pitching is not the problem with this club.
  6. Augustine drives me crazy but he is right. It is hard to win games when you can't score. This bunch cannot put the ball in play or move runners over. Frustrating to watch, frankly.
  7. I can't figure out why he's still in the team. That's why! Good call Craig, that's why you manage and I type things on a website! It is a sad state of affairs if one of your best hitters is Sogard...
  8. We all should hope this season was just a aberration for Yelich and not the beginning of a trend...
  9. Correct answer. The season is over in 2 months. How long will it take to get the daily case count down to a reasonable number? The NFL can say whatever they want but the next time there will be fans in the stands in the US will be sometime in early 2021. It will be late in 2021/early 2022 IMO. It may take that long before most folks are comfortable going to games even if we get a vaccine by January.
  10. I have a feeling some folks here are unhappy with Yelich's contract because he doesn't seem to have it this year. When he is playing at an MVP level nobody complains.
  11. With this pitching staff if we could figure out how to hit a baseball this team could be dangerous...
  12. We just turned the game on our sling box. Who is the play-by- play guy with Rock on the broadcast?
  13. No kidding...
  14. I don't know about that but isn't it great to have both of these guys in that pen?
  15. It was a giant mistake for CC to bench him the next 2 games after his 2 HR performance. Just stupid. Kind of like pinch hitting for Gyrko today in his next at bat following a homer. CC makes me scratch my head frequently, but this year is worse than previous years. IMO CC out-thinks this. He keeps trying to tweak the lineup when perhaps he should stick with one for more than a day or two to see if it clicks.
  16. The GIDP was still in play, but I would absolutely walk them loaded there for the force at home. Counsell has historically not done it that way, though. With the speed of Buxton on third base sure would have been nice to have been able to have a force at the plate instead of tag play Perhaps we should have changed the D after they got a runner at 1st and try to turn a double play instead?
  17. What don't you like about Garcia? Why would you trade your only really decent starter?
  18. I think at least some of that is the lack of fans in the stadiums and then obviously when you're not hitting well, you're not really having a lot of fun. Aguilar's energy was negligible last year when he wasn't producing. I do agree with the premise though. LA players TEND to play with a little more flair, to be more outgoing. I loved watching Gomez play the game...yet he was pretty well hated by many teams around the league for his "antics." I think we need to see how the rest of the season plays out as I think there is still a lot of personality on this team. Of course it's not just the Latin American players...Lo Cain opting out hurt us a lot in this area as well. But if they can get on a roll, I think we'll start seeing them having more fun in the dugout as we have in the past few seasons. I too think Cain opting out has hurt this team more than we realize. From what I can gather he is major leader in the clubhouse and that leadership is missing.
  19. I don't think two singles and double is really "manufactured runs". Any runs this team scores not via a long ball is a manufactured run. this
  20. To be fair, what was probably the Brewers best game of the season (Game 2 against the Cubs) was their only other national telecast this year. This year they have generally played like garbage on regional TV and the radio. Tonight’s game was close longer than the 4 losses to the Reds and Twins. I'm not just talking about this season.
  21. Why do we always play like garbage on national tv?
