I forgot to mention that Greg Young mentioned in his broadcast that Monte Harrision does have a slight injury which is why he has been out the last 2 games. I don't know what it is but not believed to be serious.

Mudcats held to just one hit in 4-0 loss to Salem Mike Shawaryn and the Red Sox toss one hit shutout in Zebulon By Carolina Mudcats | July 5, 2017 11:29 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/0/2/4/231792024/cuts/16x9_LuisAviles_cgu85mev_bw864evq.jpg Luis Aviles batting for the Carolina Mudcats. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) It took 12 batters until the Mudcats put a ball in play and 13 before they hit a fair ball. The only hit was an infield single. Cody Ponce (4 2/3 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K) only went 4 2/3 innings while throwing 102 pitches and was the hard luck loser. He seemed to be concentrating on keeping the ball down tonight and that helped get a 7/1 ground out to fly out statistic. You have to credit the Red Sox for fouling off a lot of pitches to get the pitch count up. An Isan Diaz error led to the two runs which came in when Eric Hanhold (2 1/3 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K) gave up a two run single after relieving Ponce. Scott Grist gave up a run in two innings to finish the game. Luis Aviles (1-4, 3 K) had the only hit, which was hard hit. Troy Stokes Jr (0-1, 3 BB, SB) got on 3 times and Trent Clark (0-2, 2 BB, SB) was on twice. The best chance to score came in the 4th inning when Trent Clark walked, stole second and tried to score when Aviles had his hit. Clark was ruled out but they had a case that the catcher was blocking the plate since he was lying on home plate and Clark could not slide. Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log

Mudcats fall 5-1 in front of sellout crowd of 6,959 Carolina snapped a four game winning streak with the loss By Carolina Mudcats | July 4, 2017 11:31 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/4/2/8/233352428/cuts/BackStokes_ogm4nz7k_816nby8j.jpg The Mudcats were limited to 4 hits and 1 run in this game. Trey Supak (5 1/3 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 2 K) started and took the loss. Supak has now given up 7 gopher balls for Carolina after only yielding 1 with Wisconsin. He has had only one game in which he failed to give up at least one home run. Quintin Torres-Costa (2 2/3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) followed Supak but allowed 2 inherited runners to score. Scott Grist (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) finished out the game for Carolina. Jake Gatewood (1-3, 2B, Sacrifice Fly) and Troy Stokes Jr (1-3, 2B, BB, Run) led the offence. Monte Harrison sat out the game against a left handed starter. Cooper Hummel, who is batting .067 going into this game against left handers, got the start at catcher. Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log Carolina had a chance to get back in the game in the 8th: Carolina Bottom of the 8th Pitching Change: Daniel McGrath replaces Matthew Kent. Cooper Hummel walks. Mudcats finish sweep with wild walk-off win A crowd of 5,890 witnessed Monday's extra innings victory By Gregory Young / Carolina Mudcats | July 4, 2017 12:20 AM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/8/9/8/227352898/cuts/16x9_McDowell_pdec6747_xnceeb5q.jpg Total meltdown by Winston-Salem. Wow. As noted in the thread above. They were just getting started though as the Dash bobbled the game away in the 10th. Kodi Medeiros (4 2/3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 6 BB, 5 K) got the start. He took 97 pitches to make it that far. Wuilder Rodriguez (3 1/3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) followed with another gem allowing the Mudcats to get back in the game. Brad Kuntz (2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) picked up the win. Troy Stokes Jr (1-3, 2 BB) and Trent Clark (0-2, 3 BB) both got on base 3 times. Isan Diaz (2-5, 2B) and Monte Harrison (2-4) both had two hits. Lucas Erceg had a double in 5 trips to the plate. Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log Here's the 10th: Winston-Salem Top of the 10th Carolina Mudcats Manager Joe Ayrault ejected by HP umpire Austin Jones. Joel Booker singles on a line drive to right fielder Monte Harrison. With Zack Collins batting, Joel Booker caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Max McDowell to shortstop Luis Aviles. Zack Collins called out on strikes. Telvin Nash flies out to left fielder Troy Stokes Jr. Carolina Bottom of the 10th Pitching Change: Kyle Kubat replaces Jack Charleston. Lucas Erceg flies out to left fielder Landon Lassiter. Jake Gatewood reaches on a fielding error by shortstop Johan Cruz. Isan Diaz singles on a line drive to right fielder Joel Booker. Jake Gatewood to 2nd. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-hitter Jose Cuas replaces Monte Harrison. Jose Cuas strikes out swinging. Trent Clark walks. Jake Gatewood to 3rd. Isan Diaz to 2nd. Max McDowell reaches on a fielding error by third baseman Brady Conlan. Jake Gatewood scores. Isan Diaz to 3rd. Trent Clark to 2nd. This happened after I went to bed. Monte Harrison injured on that single in the top of the 10th? The Dash are snakebit against Carolina. The have lost every game at 5 Counties Stadium and only won 1 at home against Carolina.

There must be a mistake somewhere. Carlos Luna listed as today's 1B but he's a pitcher as far as I know. Maybe a change in somebody's number?

Offense erupts for 14 runs as Mudcats win third straight Erceg, Harrison and Diaz each hit home runs in the Sunday victory By Gregory Young / Carolina Mudcats | July 2, 2017 8:24 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/1/3/0/226387130/cuts/16x9_IsanDiaz2_lsiktk5v_uzguo6oj.jpg Infielder Isan Diaz playing for the 2017 Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, NC. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) The Mudcats roared out to a 9-0 lead only to see it cut to 9-8 in a wild game before prevailing 14-10. Isan Diaz seemed to get some confidence from his game winning hit yesterday and went 4-5 with a double and a home run. He added a stolen base for good measure. Lucas Erceg hit a 3-run blast in the opening frame but went 0-4 the rest of the way. Trent Clark was 1-3 with a double, two walks and a stolen base. Also contributing were Jake Gatewood (2-5, 2B, SB) and Cooper Hummel (2-4, BB, SB). Luis Aviles stole two bases. Monte Harrison hit his second home run for the Mudcats. Troy Stokes Jr was 3-5 and hit his 4th triple of the year. Conor Harber (4 1/3 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 5 K) got the start and a no decision. He is really struggling with control since early in the year. Jordan Yamamoto (1 2/3 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 0 K) ended up with the win. Eric Hanhold (3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 K) picked up his first save of the year to close out the game. Both Zack Collins and manager Willie Harris were thrown out of the game after Collins drew a walk. (Good thing the umpire didn't call strike three). Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log Carolina Bottom of the 1st Trent Clark walks. Diaz delivers in the clutch in 6-5 Carolina comeback victory The Mudcats came back from a five run deficit in the second to win 6-5 on Saturday night By Gregory Young / Carolina Mudcats | July 1, 2017 10:35 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/6/0/0/231381600/cuts/16x9_DiazBatting_eja2e183_juk2hnsl.jpg Infielder Isan Diaz playing for the 2017 Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, NC. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) The Mudcats came back from a 5-0 deficit to beat Winston-Salem 6-5. It was the largest comeback of the year for Carolina. They are now 11-1 against Winston-Salem on the year (thank you White Sox). Marcos Diplan (5 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K) started and gave up 5 runs in the first two innings. Two of the runs were unearned due to a mis-played ground ball by Jake Gatewood. He pitched pretty well after those first two innings. Frank Lopez (3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) followed and kept the Mudcats in the game. He throws different pitches from different arm slots and changes speeds quite a bit from what I saw. Nate Griep worked the 9th, picking up his 17th save. After allowing a hit and a walk, he induced Jameson Fisher to ground into a double play to end the game. Isan Diaz (1-1) pinch hit for Jonathan Oquendo in the 8th and came up with a two run single to put the Mudcats ahead. I haven't heard if he has some injury that is holding him back a bit. Trent Clark (1-2, 2 BB, 3 SB) started the scoring for Carolina with a walk, two stolen bases and scoring on a wild pitch. His second walk meant he had equal numbers of walks and hits on the year although hits went ahead when he got on with a drag bunt in the 8th. Troy Stokes Jr (2-5, 3B, SB), Jake Gatewood (2-4, 2B), Luis Aviles (2-3, 2B, BB, SB) and Max McDowell (2-3, 2 2B) also contributed. Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log Here's your winning rally: Carolina Bottom of the 8th Trent Clark singles on a bunt ground ball to second baseman Toby Thomas. Luis Aviles doubles (12) on a line drive to center fielder Joel Booker. Trent Clark to 3rd. Pitching Change: Jack Charleston replaces Kyle Kubat. Max McDowell walks. Max McDowell to 2nd. Corey Ray out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Jack Charleston to first baseman Brady Conlan. Max McDowell to 3rd. Isan Diaz to 2nd. Troy Stokes Jr. reaches on a fielder's choice out, shortstop Johan Cruz to catcher Seby Zavala. Max McDowell out at home. Isan Diaz to 3rd. Pitching Change: Louie Lechich replaces Jack Charleston. Lucas Erceg grounds out, second baseman Toby Thomas to first baseman Brady Conlan.

Scott Grist (1.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) followed and Nate Griep (1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) finished the game off for his 16th save. Lucas Erceg finished 2-4 with his HR and had 3 RBI. Offense held quiet in 2-1 loss at Buies Creek Buies Creek starter Framber Valdez struck out 11 over eight innings against Carolina By Carolina Mudcats | June 28, 2017 11:12 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/8/7/4/231791874/cuts/16x9_LucasErcegFielding_hv3bzpal_tp1yti3w.jpg Kodi Medeiros' (4 1/3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 5 BB, 4 K) struggles as a starter continued tonight. He threw 98 pitches in less than 5 innings. The bullpen work was very good though. Wuilder Rodriguez (2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) continued his dominance of the Carolina league despite his troubles in Biloxi. Brad Kuntz (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) has been on a very good run himself. Lucas Erceg was 1-2 with a walk and a sacrifice fly and was the only Mudcat who did not strike out at least once. Mudcats outlast Astros 6-5 in 15-inning road game Eric Hanhold struck out nine over 4.0 innings and earned the win By Carolina Mudcats | June 28, 2017 12:54 AM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/0/3/8/227353038/cuts/16x9_Hanhold_p29iftsz_8uppahv6.jpg Eric Hanhold pitching for the Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) Eric Hanhold (4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K) picked a good time to have, arguably, his best game of the year. He picked up the win and is now 5-2. Jordan Yamamoto (6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 8 K) started the game. The two runs he gave up should have been unearned. With two out in the 3rd inning, Jake Gatewood missed a popup that landed fair but rolled foul. He was not given an error however. The batter then hit a home run. The next hitter hit a triple and scored on a balk when Yamamoto tripped while making a pitch. Nate Griep was given a blown save when he gave up a two run home run to tie the game in the 9th but really they were trying to squeeze a 3rd inning out of him so give him a mulligan on that one. Quintin Torres-Costa worked a 1-2-3 15th with 2 K's to pick up his first save. The Hawaiian contingent are now calling themselves "Hawaii KO". On the offensive side, Monte Harrison (3-6, 2B, HR, BB) led the way. Troy Stokes Jr was 2-7 with a double. Lucas Erceg was 3-7 with two doubles and drove in the first two runs with his second double. Cooper Hummel was 0-4 but walked 3 times. Trent Clark was 1-6 and had 4 K's although he did have a walk and a stolen base to go with that. He was also caught trying to steal home (now 17/20 in SB's). Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log Mudcats took a 3-run lead here: Carolina Top of the 6th Monte Harrison homers (1) on a fly ball to right field. Trent Clark called out on strikes. Luis Aviles singles on a line drive to left fielder Yordan Alvarez. Cooper Hummel walks. Luis Aviles to 2nd. Jonathan Oquendo pops out to second baseman Ryne Birk on the infield fly rule. Corey Ray doubles (17) on a fly ball to right fielder Myles Straw. Luis Aviles scores. Cooper Hummel scores. Pitching Change: Sean Stutzman replaces Howie Brey. Troy Stokes Jr. singles on a ground ball to shortstop Alex De Goti. Lucas Erceg called out on strikes. Nate Griep's blown save: Buies Creek Bottom of the 9th Jake Rogers doubles (8) on a line drive to right fielder Trent Clark. Mudcats drop series opener 8-1 at Buies Creek Max McDowell was 2-for-3 with a RBI in the loss for the Mudcats By Gregory Young / Carolina Mudcats | June 26, 2017 11:31 PM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/8/4/0/231714840/cuts/16x9_McDowellFans_zo9qoqt3_93jvrgn1.jpg Max McDowell batting for the Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) Carolina was never really in this game, only managing 4 hits. I meant to mention before that Troy Stokes Jr and Monte Harrison were two of only 15 players in the minor leagues to get both 10+ home runs and 10+ stolen bases in the first half of the season. Marcos Diplan (5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 K) threw 97 pitches as he continues to struggle quite a bit this year. Scott Grist (1 1/3 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) followed and let the game get out of hand. Brad Kuntz pitched the remaining 1 2/3 innings giving up no hits with one walk and one strike out. Max McDowell was 2-3 with a walk. He has been hitting better since the All-Star break. Maybe he's found something there. Trent Clark drew 3 walks in 4 at bats, reaching the 50 mark for the season which puts him 2nd in the Carolina League. Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log

Isan Diaz was ejected from the game after a scuffle with the catcher. No punches were thrown but both benches cleared. Maybe the catcher was taking exception to Diaz stepping out a lot and then calling for time. Just guessing though. -

(NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats) A solo home run by Jake Gatewood (2-4, 3B, HR) in the 2nd inning and a two run home run by Jose Cuas (1-4) in the 3rd staked Jordan Yamamoto (5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 0 BB, 8 K) to a 3-0 lead. The Nationals got all 3 back in the bottom of the 3rd capped off by a 2 run home run from Taylor Gushue, who now has 13 home runs this year. It came on a 3-0 pitch. The Nationals added 2 in the 5th to provide the final margin. Kodi Medeiros (3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K) is discussed in this thread above. 16 pitches, all strikes, includes 3 K's. How is that possible? Anyway, the effort came to naught when the Mudcats could not produce any more runs. Trent Clark (2-3, BB) also had a positive game. Isan Diaz was 0-4 with 3 K's and has gone totally off the track. Splits by month for Isan: April: .333/.420/.754 May: .325/.470/.794 June: .290/.148/.438 Carolina Box Score Carolina Game Log
