  1. Rough day for Luis Benitez with the DSL Brewers. He gave up 6 runs while retiring none and gave up 2 HR.
  2. Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane in the TV show Superman. Not the first Lois Lane as the story indicates though. Phyllis Coates played her the first year of this series. link
  3. That pretty much used up all the wriggle room the Brewers had without losing future draft picks. Don't look for any other HS players to sign now baring some emergency in their lives. There are still a couple of college seniors who haven't signed.
  4. I guess I assume the guys the Red Sox signed last year will now go to other big money teams if they are worth signing since they are free agents now. Don't expect the Brewers will be a factor on them. I guess I could be wrong though.
  5. The Red Sox have been banned from international signings. Start going after their prospects: link
  6. Jungmann moving to Biloxi. Hopefully he can find it there. Carlos Belonis to the DL. Juan Ortiz promoted to Wisconsin (not Erceg folks). link to Brewers PD
  7. I wonder if Mass Haas is suggesting we try to name the team the "Brewers"?
  8. Brewers also signed some Minor League free agents: link Jeremy Newton is from the University of British Columbia. I knew they had to come up with a Canadian!
  9. Josh Hader has been named to the All-Star futures game representing the US team.
  10. Chris just mentioned that Clark has hamstring trouble. Not believed too serious I think.
  11. Trent Clark goes on the DL, Brandon Diaz to Wisconsin and Hobbs Johnson was released. No info on Trent. link
  12. Where are you going to play him? Do you really want Gatewood losing time at 3rd? This is the problem with Ray/Clark also. You want both playing centerfield which is probably why they moved Ray to Brevard County.
  13. As you speculated the other day, MH, Javi Salas to the DL.
  14. If you like hitting, you might want to tune in the Rattlers this afternoon. They have 3 HRs in one inning and balls are flying out of there with a strong wind blowing out. Edit: They put up a 10-spot in the 2nd inning. Not sure the game is over though the way things are going.
  15. My concern is not about performance but health. Cody Ponce has simply not thrown the way he did last year and it doesn't seem to be getting better. Salas had some control problems at times last year. That's probably just a mechanical problem not a health problem. We saw Nathan Kirby last year with "tired arm" being thrown out again and again by both UVa and the Brewers. Wasn't a good outcome was it?
  16. Montgomery with 6 runs on 1 hit in the first off the Shuckers. It may be time to shut down Cody Ponce. There is clearly something wrong there.
  17. DSL Brewers lose to the Nationals 2-1. The only Brewers run came on a infield single followed by 3 wild pitches. Brewer pitchers only gave up 4 hits in the loss.
  18. Tonight's BC lineup has Cuas at SS, Allemand at 3B. This should be fun.
  19. Brevard County is now with 4 infielders. Iskandarian or Allemand to play SS? Maybe Jose Cuas can play there?
  20. Angel Ortega to Biloxi, Monte Harrision to the DL, Alex Farina activated at Wisconsin. link
  21. Apparently DSL Brewers are playing a double header. No info on game 2 yet.
  22. Looks like the DSL Brewers only got in 7 innings today, losing 4-2 to the Nationals. Henry Medina went 5 innings and got the loss.
  23. Bit from today's DSL Brewers game: Andri De Los Santos singles on a ground ball to shortstop Luis Avila, deflected by first baseman Luis Avalo. How does that happen? By the way, if you access these games at the right time you can follow the game log as they type it. The whole game takes about a half hour because you only get the results of each at bat not the pitch-by-pitch version.
  24. Like I said in another thread, Coulter has had an oblique problem. None of us know the extent of that and how it has held him back this year. As a comparison point, look at Phil Ervin, the number 10 prospect of the Reds according to MLB. He was: .242/.338/.375 last year at Daytona while Coulter was: .246/.329/.397 Ervin has been promoted to Pensicola, even last year while Coulter languishes.
