  1. They should have left him in. Tying run now at the plate with an 8 run lead going into the bottom of the 9th.
  2. Manatees are not broadcasting any of these games in Dunedin. You have to get the Blue Jays radio if you want to listen to it. Accessible from the box score at Milb.
  3. Is this some sort of double meaninged sentence Heh. RR transferred to Appleton?
  4. Lakeland 3, Brevard County 1 No comeback in this game. Garfield and Eshleman singled to lead off the 9th and were bunted to 2nd and 3rd but they couldn't get the game tying hit. Really both teams played like it was a morning game after a doubleheader. Manatees fall to Lakeland on Education Day Michael Parsons, FLORIDA TODAY 3:12 p.m. EDT April 22, 2015 Minor League Baseball: Lakeland Flying Tigers at Brevard County Manatees http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/1d04cac505a27f0ab2814523bd8bf66aa467056b/c=331-0-3052-2041&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/Brevard/2015/04/22/B9317078321Z.1_20150422151211_000_G9OAJ303E.1-0.jpg VIERA – The chants were loud as hundreds of public school students cheered on the home town Brevard County Manatees on Wednesday as part of Education Day at Space Coast Stadium. But the Lakeland Flying Tigers spoiled the fun, defeating the Manatees 3-1. In all, 13 schools from around Brevard County were represented among the 951 in attendance for the 10:30 a.m. game. “That is what it is all about, it is great to have fans come out but especially kids,” Brevard County Manatees manager Joe Ayrault said. “You would like to win the ball game so they tell their parents they have to go see another ball game but it is good to see them come out.” What the students and other fans saw was a sharp Lakeland starting pitcher in Ryan Longstreth, who gave up one run in six innings to pick up his first win. The Manatees lost the second game in a row to Lakeland, after the first game in the series was rained out on Monday night. Brevard County fell to 6-7 on the season. Manatees officials hoped this year’s Education Day would take on an anti-bullying message by inviting ESPN reporter and Satellite High graduate Britt McHenry. McHenry was in the news last week after a video of her verbally berating a towing company clerk went viral. Officials reached out to see if she’d like to deliver an anti-bullying message as part of the Education Day festivities, but McHenry was a no-show, so the game went on as planned. The Manatees fell behind in the third inning as Lakeland runners scored on a balk and an error. The home team scored its lone run in the fourth inning when Cameron Garfield walked and later scored on a fielder’s choice. Catcher Paul Eschleman continued to hit well since being called up this week, going 2-for-3. “Two days in a row of swinging the bat well,” Ayrault said. “He had a good approach at the plate today, he was one of the guys that had a good approach against a tough lefty today.” Brevard County will hit the road for six games before returning home for a series with Daytona on April 30. The team will face Dunedin for a three-game series beginning tonight and Jorge Ortega will take the mound for the third time this season. He is 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA this season. “We haven’t had any overnighters yet, so looking forward to it” Ayrault said. “Looking forward to going to the West coast and playing some overhand hard ball.” Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Clint Coulter was 0-2 with 2 walks. Victor Roache got one single. Javi Salas pitched pretty well again, going 7 innings. Final line: 7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 W, 5 K, 8/5 GO/FO Kaleb Earls worked 2 perfect innings to close the game.
  5. Macias has been transferred to Colorado Springs. Jose Pena to Brevard County. The Manatees have been going with 3 outfielders since Johnny Davis was injured.
  6. Unprecedented what Coulter and Roache are doing. I looked up OPS for Brevard County the past several years. Right now, as mentioned before Coulter at 1.198, Roache is at .988 2014 Michael Reed was tops with .774, Nathan Orf .773 2013 D'Vontrey Richardson .788 2012 Jason Rogers .828 2011 Brock Kjeldgard .948 2010 Eric Komatsu .855 2009 Cole Gillespie 1.036 repeating the level 2008 Lucroy .843 2007 Mat Gamel .850 2006 Brendan Katin .813 (Ryan Braun .784) Of course, it's still early. They would have to stay locked in all year.
  7. Game 2: Brevard County 8, Lakeland 6 Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Brevard County Bottom of the 7th Clint Coulter lines out to second baseman Javier Betancourt. Victor Roache homers (3) on a fly ball to right center field. Brandon Macias flies out to right fielder Steven Moya. Rafael Neda reaches on a fielding error by shortstop Jared Reaves. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Angel Ortega replaces Rafael Neda. Paul Eshleman homers (1) on a fly ball to left center field. Angel Ortega scores. Understandably, neither the Manatees or the Flying Tigers has posted a game story with the double header and a 10:35 start the next day. Coulter and Roache off to a dream start and Omar Garcia finally got his first hit of the season.
  8. Coulter swings lively bat in double dip Brewers' No. 4 prospect collects five hits, four RBIs for Manatees By Robert Emrich / MiLB.com 04/22/2015 1:41 AM ET http://www.milb.com/assets/images/5/3/4/119778534/cuts/Coulter960_lxztp661_um3a6qu1.jpg Clint Coulter has three homers over his last six Florida State League games. (Brevard County Manatees) Perhaps more impressive than Clint Coulter's hitting prowess Tuesday were his skills as a prognosticator. The Brewers' No. 4 prospect went 5-for-8 with a homer and four RBIs as Class A Advanced Brevard County split its doubleheader with Lakeland. In the Manatees' opening 4-3 loss, Coulter finished a triple short of the cycle. His third-inning homer gave the club an early 1-0 lead and he belted an RBI double in the fifth. The 21-year-old catcher then added two more hits, including another two-bagger, and two RBIs in Brevard County's 8-6 win in the nightcap. "I got some good pitches to hit and didn't miss them," Coulter said. "It's as simple as that. Sometimes they find holes. Days like this are always good." Coulter's offensive explosion extended his hitting streak to six games, during which time he is 12-for-23 with three homers and nine RBIs. Overall, the Washington native is batting .356 with eight extra-base hits, including four homers, and 10 RBIs for the Manatees. Coulter credited his coaches for teaching him intricacies about his craft. "Just working with our hitting coordinator in the offseason, Jeremy Reed, and Ned Yost IV here in Brevard County -- those guys know a lot about hitting," he said. "Every day we're talking about every at-bat. Sometimes it's as simple as I swung at a bad pitch or where I was looking." But what Coulter told his teammates in the dugout in the final inning of the second game could be the most remarkable aspect of his day. After Victor Roache tied the game in the seventh with a solo homer, Rafael Nada reached on a one-out fielding error by shortstop Jared Reaves, setting the stage for Paul Eshleman and Coulter. "I actually called it," Coulter said. "I said, 'Hanging pitch, right here, he's gonna take one deep,' and he did. We all just looked at each other like 'you gotta be kidding me.' It was quiet for a second and then we celebrated." Roache had three hits in the opener and drove in a run while Chris McFarland scored three times during the double dip for the Manatees. Tigers' top prospect Steven Moya, coming back from a plantar fasciitas injury, homered in the second game for the Flying Tigers.
  9. Game 1: Lakeland 4, Brevard County 3 Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Dominic Ficociello, who hit all of 6 home runs last year at West Michigan, homered off Jim Henderson in the 6th for the winning run. Ben Verlander, who hit 7 home runs the past 2 seasons, hit a 3 run home run off Wei-Chung Wang in the 5th which gave the Tigers the lead. Victor Roache was called for missing 3rd on the go ahead run in the bottom of the 5th. Joe Ayrault was tossed on the play. He had been the 3rd base coach at the time. Clint Coulter was 3-4 with a double and a home run. I'm calling it a night. Will catch the 2nd game in the morning along with the story of Game 1. Here's the critical 5th for the Manatees: Brevard County Bottom of the 5th Christopher McFarland doubles (6) on a fly ball to right fielder Steven Moya. Taylor Brennan flies out to right fielder Steven Moya. Clint Coulter doubles (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Jiwan James. Christopher McFarland scores. Victor Roache singles on a line drive to right fielder Steven Moya. Clint Coulter scores. Pitching Change: Confesor Lara replaces Jonathan Maciel. Brandon Macias singles on a line drive to left fielder Ben Verlander. Victor Roache out at 3rd, pitcher Confesor Lara to third baseman Francisco Martinez. Brevard County Manatees Manager Joe Ayrault ejected by HP umpire Alex Mackay. Garrett Cooper walks. Cameron Garfield strikes out swinging.
  10. Manatees will be delayed, at least (rain). Now postponed.
  11. Brevard County 3, Dunedin 2 No Manatees story yet. Here's the Blue Jays': Jays Drop Heart Breaker 3-2 in 12 By Marshall Kelner / Dunedin Blue Jays 04/19/2015 11:19 PM ET Viera, FL - Taylor Brennan delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift the Brevard County Manatees over the Dunedin Blue Jays 3-2 in the rubber game of the series. The game, including a two-hour and seven minute rain delay, was five hours and thirty minutes. Leading 2-0 into the bottom of the seventh, the umpires called for the tarp, which took at least five minutes to be fully pulled onto the infield. The rain didn't last long, but the teams had to wait for the field conditions to improve enough to be safe to play on. The Manatees rallied right away following the delay against D-Jays reliever Brady Dragmire, loading the bases with nobody out on two singles and a fielder's choice. Omar Garcia drew a walk to make it 2-1 before Dragmire induced a 1-2-3 double play. A second run scored, however, on a passed ball by catcher Mike Reeves with two out and the game was tied 2-2. It remained tied until the bottom of the 12th, when Brennan delivered the game-winner with runners on first and second and one out. The Blue Jays best chance in extra innings came in the 10th, when Mitch Nay led off with a double and Matt Dean advanced him to third with a ground out. Unfortunately for the Jays, the next two batters could not bring Nay in. Dunedin was 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position and stranded 12 runners on base. Brevard County starter Hiram Burgos walked the bases loaded with one out in the first, but the Blue Jays could not make him pay. They finally got to Burgos in the fifth when Dawel Lugo delivered an RBI single and another run scored on an error. The run batted in for Lugo was his team-leading sixth of the young season. Mike Reeves, who came into the game 1-for-12 on the season, had two hard singles up the middle and scored the first run for the D-Jays. He started the rally for Dunedin in the fifth with the second of his two hits. Murphy Smith, in his second appearance and first start, tossed three shutout innings and struck out three while allowing just one hit. Matt Dermody followed with three shutout frames of his own, fanning four in the process. Jimmy Cordero threw a pair of shutout innings and struck out two. Scott Silverstein took the loss despite retiring six of the first seven hitters he faced and pitching 2.1 innings, his longest outing yet this season. Dunedin opens a three-game series in Daytona tomorrow night against the Tortugas at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Right-hander Brad Allen will start for the Blue Jays. First pitch is 7:05 p.m. and the action can be heard on dunedinbluejays.com. Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Manatees came back from the rain delay to tie the score in the 7th: Brevard County Bottom of the 7th Defensive Substitution: Ian Parmley replaces left fielder Michael Saunders, batting 1st, playing left field. Pitching Change: Brady Dragmire replaces Matt Dermody. Garrett Cooper singles on a line drive to right fielder Derrick Loveless. Rafael Neda singles on a line drive to left fielder Ian Parmley. Garrett Cooper to 2nd. Angel Ortega hits a sacrifice bunt. Garrett Cooper to 3rd. Rafael Neda to 2nd. Angel Ortega to 1st. Omar Garcia walks. Garrett Cooper scores. Rafael Neda to 3rd. Angel Ortega to 2nd. Christopher McFarland grounds into a double play, pitcher Brady Dragmire to catcher Mike Reeves to first baseman Matt Dean. Rafael Neda out at home. Angel Ortega to 3rd. Omar Garcia to 2nd. With Taylor Brennan batting, passed ball by Mike Reeves, Angel Ortega scores. Omar Garcia to 3rd. Taylor Brennan flies out to center fielder Roemon Fields. The winning run in the 12th: Brevard County Bottom of the 12th Angel Ortega walks. Omar Garcia grounds into a force out, third baseman Mitch Nay to second baseman Christian Lopes. Angel Ortega out at 2nd. Omar Garcia to 1st. Christopher McFarland singles on a ground ball to second baseman Christian Lopes. Omar Garcia to 2nd. Taylor Brennan singles on a line drive to center fielder Roemon Fields. Omar Garcia scores. Christopher McFarland to 2nd. Comments: Hiram Burgos struggled a bit with control and the ball/strike calls. Dave Chavarria, the pitching coach, was tossed out in the 1st after Burgos walked 3 batters in a row and Chris McFarland was called out to start the inning. After a blistering start, Chris McFarland is in a bit of a slump now. 1-6 today. Clint Coulter 1-4 with a triple for the second straight day. Victor Roache 3-5 with a double both Coulter and Roache now at .297 batting average. Taylor Brennan with the walk off single but he is struggling at the plate. Omar Garcia still looking for his first hit of the season.
  12. Manatees now in rain delay. Trailing 2-0 bottom of the 7th. I may check back later. Will link in the morning if not.
  13. Nothing new on Johnny Davis. Knee injury-day to day.
  14. Dunedin 4, Brevard County 2 Lugo and Guerrero Go Deep For Jays in 4-2 Win By Marshall Kelner / Dunedin Blue Jays 04/18/2015 9:08 PM ET Viera, FL - Dawel Lugo and Emilio Guerrero each hit home runs to lead the Dunedin Blue Jays over the Brevard County Manatees 4-2 on Saturday night at Space Coast Stadium. After being held scoreless for 19 straight innings, Christian Lopes changed that in the second inning with a two-out RBI single to put the Jays up 1-0. The hit scored Matt Dean, who led off the inning with a triple. Lugo launched his home run the very next inning, a two-run shot measured at 397 feet and his second of the season. Guerrero later followed with a solo blast to lead off the fourth. Jairo Labourt struck out eight in his four innings of work on the mound. Tiago Da Silva (1-0) earned the win with 3.2 innings in relief, retiring the first seven batters he faced while striking out four. Chad Girodo followed with an inning and a third of scoreless relief and Wil Browning shut the door in the ninth to earn his third save. The rubber game of the series is tomorrow at Space Coast Stadium in Viera. Right-hander Murphy Smith will start for the Blue Jays. First pitch is 5:05 p.m. and the action can be heard on dunedinbluejays.com. Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Jorge Ortega went 8 innings, retiring the final 15 hitters he faced. His nemesis is the long ball which killed him here. A triple in the 2nd and homeruns in the 3rd and 4th led to all 4 Blue Jay runs. Jorge gave up 13 HRs in 80 some innings last year. No walks here in the 8 innings. Offensively, Clint Coulter is really locked in at the moment. Starter Jairo Labourt is one of the Jays top prospects and Clint hit his homerun off him. He was 3-4 with a walk and two RBIs including the homerun. Manatees were 1-13 with RISP and left 11 on base.
  15. Johnny Davis goes out in the 7th. Running on a bunt to first. Looks like a knee or ankle potentially. Will reassess tomorrow. Day to day.
  16. Brevard County 4, Dunedin 0 Salas, 'Tees Soar Over Jays Brevard County Shuts Out Dunedin By Jerry Durney / Brevard County Manatees 04/18/2015 12:13 AM ET http://brevardcounty.manatees.milb.com/assets/images/3/4/6/74367346/cuts/Roache_4.15_640x360_tlhvsmhy_gpksg11b.jpg Brevard County left fielder Victor Roache - seen here in a game from earlier this season - homered in Brevard County's 4-0 win over Dunedin. (Dennis Greenblatt/Hawk-Eye Sports Photography) Viera, Fla. - On a night where the Brevard County Manatees (4-4) were in need of good pitching, Jim Henderson and Javi Salas (1-1, 0.69) provided it in spades while the power portion of the Manatee lineup continued to awaken in a 4-0 win over the Dunedin Blue Jays (4-5) in the series opener on Friday night. In the opening frame, it appeared as if the Manatees' early inning woes would continue for a third consecutive night. Roeman Fields led off with a walk against the rehabbing Henderson and then stole second with Emilio Guerrero at bat. Guerrero struck out, but Fields took third with Dawel Lugo up. Lugo grounded out to third with Taylor Brennan holding the ball briefly after a slick backhand stop to make sure Fields did not advance. When Matt Dean struck out, Henderson's night was over and zeroes were still on the board. The Manatees took the lead in the second when Victor Roache hit his second home run of the season, an opposite field solo blast to right that left the yard quickly. The Jays only true scoring threat against Salas came in the fourth inning. It started with a Matt Dean single to center; David Harris then bunted his way aboard to set up Derek Loveless. He would try to bunt his way on as well, but Cameron Garfield pounced on the ball immediately and threw to third to erase Dean. Moments later, Mitch Nay hit into a tailor-made 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. Clint Coulter made Dunedin immediately regret that missed opportunity in the bottom of the frame when he launched his second home run of the season. The solo shot was the definition of a big fly and landed beyond the berm in left field. Brevard County tacked on the final two runs in the fifth inning. Johnny Davis reached on a one-out infield single when the ball ate up second baseman Christian Lopes. After a Chris McFarland fly out, Coulter made it 3-0 with an RBI triple that scored Davis. Following a walk to Brennan, Garrett Cooper legged out an infield single and allowed Coulter to score. The dominant force of the night was Salas. After throwing one-hit ball over five innings on Sunday, but losing on a shutout, he made sure every bit of the run support stood up on this night. The originally scheduled starter for the evening threw the final eight innings after Henderson, shutting out the Blue Jays. He gave up just six hits, walked three and struck out three. Many of the balls that were put in play did not have much punch, as Salas induced 14 ground ball outs. Dunedin's Luis Santos (0-1, 6.30) was tagged with the lost. He surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. The 'Tees look to clinch a series win on Saturday as RHP Jorge Ortega (1-0, 1.50 ERA) attempts to follow up on his excellent outing from Monday. He'll be opposed by Dunedin left-hander Jairo Labourt (1-1, 4.76). Fantastic game from Javi Salas after Jim Henderson pitched the 1st. Salas went the final 8 innings and gave up no runs. He works quickly, throws strikes and gets a lot of ground balls. (15-2 ground out/fly out in this game). IP 8, H 6, BB 3, K 3 As mentioned above, Henderson did not really have his velocity back in this game. Clint Coulter and Victor Roache starred on offense in this game. Clint Coulter: 2-3, 2 runs, 2 RBI's, HR, 3B, W (The triple may actually have been over the fence but called in by the umps). Victor Roache: 2-4, HR, 1 run, 1 RBI Kris Bryant: 0-4, 3 K (Just thought I'd throw that in) Roache really hitting well right now. When he takes the fastball to right, he hits much better. HR was to right field. Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log
  17. Jim Henderson does get the 1st inning start for the Manatees. Walked the leadoff man but then retired 3 straight including two strikeouts. Velo at 91-92 though so still doesn't have his full power yet.
  18. St. Lucie 14, Brevard County 6 Mets offense rolls in 14-6 win over Manatees St. Lucie improves to 4-0 in home games St. Lucie Mets 04/16/2015 11:11 PM ET PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 16, 2015) - The St. Lucie Mets scored a season high in run and matched their season high in hits with a 14-6 thrashing of the Brevard County Manatees on Thursday at Tradition Field. The Mets bashed out 18 hits, the same amount as in their Opening Day win over Bradenton last Thursday. Every Met had a hit and seven of the nine in the lineup had multi-hit games. Leading the way was 2013 first round pick Dominic Smith, who came into the game 3 for 27 on the year. Smith went 3 for 5 with three RBIs and a run scored. His two-run opposite field hit with two outs in the first put the Mets on the board. The Mets ended up scoring five runs in the first inning. Jhoan Urena smacked a two-run double and Colton Plaia extended his hitting streak to five games with an RBI single. Plaia had three hits. St. Lucie led 7-3 in the middle of the sixth when the rains came and delayed the game for 59 minutes. When play resumed, the Mets knocked around Scott Lieser. Four runs scored on six hits in the sixth and three more scored on three hits in the seventh. Michael Conforto belted a two-run double and Smith and Champ Stuart had RBI hits. Conforto just missed his second grand slam in as many games when he hit a sac fly with the bases loaded to the warning track in the seventh. He ended up with three RBIs. Stuart scored four runs. He reached base safely four times after reaching base safely five times on Wednesday. Jake Kuebler got the win. He threw 2.1 innings of no-hit ball in relief of starter Kevin McGowan. McGowan gave up three runs - two earned - in 3.2 innings. New York Mets relievers Vic Black and Bobby Parnell pitched the eighth and ninth, respectively. The duo pitched the first and second innings in Tuesday's game. Black pitched around a leadoff error in the eighth and retired the next three batters in order. Parnell gave up two runs with two outs in the ninth on a triple and a double. After a rough first inning, Woodruff recovered to get through four innings after Wei-Chung Wang lasted just 1.1 innings for Brevard County on Wednesday. Woodruff gave up seven earned runs and seven hits. In the first two games of their series against the Manatees, the Mets score one run on five hits. In the final two games the Mets scored 23 runs on 30 hits. The Mets (5-3) hit the road again on Friday to begin a three-game series at the Fort Myers Miracle. Friday's game begins at 7:05 p.m. and can be heard locally on WPSL 1590 AM with the Voice of the Mets, Adam MacDonald. The broadcast is also available on www.stluciemets.com. 21. St. Lucie 9, Brevard County 3 Manatees have not posted a story yet. Here's the Mets' version: Mets bust out the bats in 9-3 win over Manatees St. Lucie wins the Second Annual Jackie Robinson Celebration Game St. Lucie Mets 04/15/2015 9:49 PM ET VERO BEACH, Fla. (April 15, 2015) - The St. Lucie Mets busted out of their slump and beat the Brevard County Manatees 9-3 on Wednesday night. A crowd of 5,915 was on hand at Holman Field in Historic Dodgertown to watch the Second Annual Celebration Game. The Mets put on an offensive show for the huge crowd in Vero Beach. Michael Conforto bashed a grand slam off of Wei-Chung Wang in an eight-run second inning. Jhoan Urena added a two-out, two-run double later in the frame and the Mets were in cruise control the rest of the way. Robert Gsellman improved to 2-0 in his second start. He limited the Manatees to one run and three hits in five innings. He struck out seven. Robby Coles pitched a perfect seventh and Akeel Morris struck out four in two scoreless innings to finish the game. Everyone in the Mets lineup reached base safely. Maikis De La Cruz collected three hits. Champ Stuart got on board five times, twice on singles and three times on walks. Amed Rosario and Colton Plaia had two hits apiece. Coming into the game the Manatees held the Mets to one run and five hits in the first two games of the series. The Mets (4-3) and Manatees (3-3) conclude their four-game series on Thursday at Tradition Field. It's Dollar Night with $2 draft beers, $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 popcorn. Brevard County Box Score Brevard County Game Log Johnny Davis led off the game with a base hit. Jhoan Urena out at home on the throw, left fielder Omar Garcia to catcher Rafael Neda. Jhoan Urena was the only Met in the lineup failing to score in the inning and he was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
  22. Not Wei-Chung Wang's day today. Got out of a bases loaded jam in the 1st when Dominic Smith lined into a double play. 2nd inning is a disaster though. 4 walks no K's, 5 hits and 6 runs, still in the 2nd. Does not get out of the 2nd. 1 1/3 inning 6 H, 6 R, 5 W, 0 K, 2 men still on base. Michael Conforto, the Mets top pick last year, hit a grand slam. Update. Both runners scored so Wang charged with 8 runs.
  23. Brevard County 1, St. Lucie 0 Burgos Blanks Mets Manatees Beat St. Lucie, 1-0 By Dave Walkovic / Brevard County Manatees 04/14/2015 11:01 PM ET Viera, Fla. - Hiram Burgos dominated for the Brevard County Manatees (3-2) in a 1-0 victory over the St. Lucie Mets (3-3) on Tuesday night at Space Coast Stadium. In his second start of the season, Burgos (1-1, 2.25 ERA) allowed just one hit in seven shutout innings. He walked one and struck out eight men total. Burgos, who missed a majority of the 2014 season with a right shoulder strain, retired the final 13 batters he faced, and fanned Maikis De La Cruz and Dominic Smith to end his outing. The lone hit against Burgos came with two outs in the first inning, when Michael Conforto hit a ground-rule double to right field. Victor Roache provided the only score of the game when he stepped to the plate with one out in the bottom of the second. With MLB rehabber Vic Black (0-1, 9.00) on the hill, Roache deposited a fastball over the right field fence for a solo home run. It was Roache's first homer of the season. He hit 18 long balls for Brevard County last year, third most in the Florida State League. After Burgos departed, manager Joe Ayrault called on Trevor Seidenberger for the eighth inning. After he allowed a leadoff single to Victor Cruzado, Seidenberger whiffed the next two batters. Yeixon Ruiz then reached on an error to put men on first and second.
