  1. Too many RH hitters. Should have brought in a LH hitter instead of Cameron. Might still work out, who knows?
  2. KC Jim- My name is WV Brew and I'm a Brewer fan. I hear you. You're not alone. I can't believe I let myself be roped in to wasting another Saturday yesterday. I don't even get the game on TV. I'm just using gameday which is very frustrating at times. Probably I'm overreacting.
  3. While I agree that Hall has been awful, we are going to need full production from Hall, Hardy, Hart, etc. if we will ever turn this mess around. Putting in Dillon, Branyan, Counsell or whoever the latest fringe player plug-in is, will only guarantee defeat in the long run. Further, since the brain trust plus Nedly is meeting today, I sincerely hope we don't get another Linebrink type trade that will solve nothing and remove more prospects.
  4. Assuming we dont' make the playoffs this year In the immortal words of Jim Mora, "Playoffs!?, Playoffs!!!!?". This team is headed for the cellar unless changes are made soon.
  5. But you haven't checked to see what batting Kendall 9th has added. You can't arrive at any sort of conclusion without analyzing both sides of the coin. True. Mainly because I don't believe it "adds" much if anything.
  6. Hardy at 2 pos: .272 .318 .450 .768 108 OPS+ at 8 pos: .258 .331 .388 .719 97 OPS+ By comparing with him in the 8 position, you largely ignore this year's poor performance and concentrate on the position effect alone. So he gets on base more at the 8 spot which should not be surprising since teams will pitch around him some but you reduce a lot of his power, which also doesn't surprise me. This alone pretty much convinces me that the pitcher at 8 strategy is poor if Hardy is going to be hit there.
  7. I'd like to see an analysis of Hardy at 8th/7th this year vs. Hardy in other positions. He has expressed his opinion that he doesn't like batting there and from what I've seen, I have to concur. This is a specialized job that might need a more veteran player such as Kendall.
  8. I'd walk Cameron and pitch to Braun.
  9. He's #2 in the NL with 9 saves. Only one other closer has more, with 10. What's his rank in blown saves?
  10. I guess the ump only had it in for Gagne and not Torres?
  11. Five pitches so far this inning. One in the strike zone... five swings. Exactly. They really need to work on this and bench guys who can't lay off pitches.
  12. You don't get the call when you don't hit the target even when it might be a strike. The Brewers can't take advantage of the small strike zone because many of their hitters will swing at anything.
  13. I really don't see how this team can finish .500 this year.
  14. the team has shown adesire to keep the best players in the fold ...Counsell, Rivera, Kapler.... Parra should have been sent down instead of Bush. Despite Melvin's claim he threw a good game. 100 pitches in less than 6 innings against a depleted Marlins lineup is not my description of a good game. Manny will not last the season. He is better off being sent down, controlling his innings and returning later if he is needed. Point 2. Instead of mandating two games a week for Counsell, we should have two games a week managed by someone other than Ned Yost.
  15. Tempting fate with Pinto vs. Prince again.
  16. Who's crap list are we on? We can't catch a break and the Fish seem to get one after another Well, if you get the bat on the ball you have a chance it might drop.
  17. For a former catcher, Ned is sure slow to see when a pitcher is played out. And now he will leave him in to get "the win".
  18. Riske has been in half the games already. If he has 80 appearances, he won't be effective much longer either.
  19. As a Racine native, I have to disagree. Beautiful beaches, symphony orchestra, art museums, theater guild, live music series, zoo, extensive parks, etc. There are a couple of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings of historical significance, the tallest lighthouse on the Great Lakes. I played municipal softball, basketball and volleyball. I have walked the length and breadth of Racine many times with no problems. If you are looking for trouble, you will probably find it. If you are not looking for trouble, it is unlikely to find you. Proximity to Milwaukee and Chicago presents more things to do. On the other hand, I went to school in Madison and found it to be one of the filthiest cities I have ever experienced. Not to mention all the PC that goes with both a college town and the seat of Government. You couldn't pay me to live there. Different strokes for different folks.
  20. Tired of the ups and downs of the stock market? Anyone interested in buying shares of Randy Newsom? RP with the Tribe. www.realsportsinvestments.com/Player_Profile.html
  21. Try moving to the DC area, where schools are closed on a rumor of snow. I once saw a car with Florida plates on I-66 with totally bald tires with several inches of snow. Obviously obstructing the rest of us who could still move if only he would get out of the way.
