  1. As has Gio. Really bad. I feel like when it comes to pitchers , we are asking CC to play Russian roulette with 6 bullets in the revolver.
  2. Gio isn't any better. He may even be worse. Probably. I’m certainly not a fan of that trade. But we should at least see what we have in him. He must have really stunk up a bullpen session for us to start Junior in a critical game.
  3. Counsel is a great manager and criticizing bullpen moves when they don’t work is silly. Stuff happens. We have two good relief pitchers and a bunch of junk on a team that relies as heavily on their pen as any contender. But.....I would never start Junior again after we picked up Gio.
  4. Ray is hitting 236 in AA. Yeah he hits HRs and steals bases which is great but unless his hit tool and defense improve dramatically he can’t be considered as a meaningful addition to Milwaukee in 2019. Sadly we can say the same about Hiura. He needs to hit better in AA. I really thought he would be our 2B possibly by late this year. I’d strongly consider selling high on them. C: Pina has done enough to warrant coming back 1B Jesus 2B I guess Schoop but at $10M he doesn’t have much value. SS: Arcia even if he hits poorly. 3B Shaw. Solid not special and Moose isn’t accepting a one year deal LF Yelich CF Cain RF Braun/Santana Bench Backup Catcher not on roster, Perez, Broxton, Salad man SP: Chacin SP: Anderson SP: Nelson SP: Davies SP: Peralta/Burnes CL: Hader CL: JJ RP: Knebel RP: Barnes RP: Cedeno 6-8: some sort of mess out of Lyles Albers, QTC, etc etc etc. Of that list I’m not seeing a lot of tradable assets that we can afford to trade and would have much value in return? We can’t trade Shaw because we can’t replace him unless we empty the bank to give Moose an extension and Chacin is insurance if Davies and Nelson can’t come back to 2017.
  5. I can’t imagine how he accepts $15M for one year when he will certainly get multi year offers on the open market.
  6. Soria is supposed to be an elite reliever. There is absolutely nothing wromg with bringing him in the game. It’s on him for not getting outs.
  7. It’s this boards contention that CC willingly doesn’t put Hader into games because he wants to lose? Obviously Hader is used abnormally and requires more rest than we would like. Soria has been the problem lately. He does the job he was brought here for and the use of Hader doesn’t exist.
  8. CC said he may be used out of the pen. So he is going to pitch 10-12 innings?
  9. Why hasn’t he been immediately slotted into the rotation?
  10. Both of these moves are silly but I can’t argue that DS is at least trying unlike last year. At the end of the day, our minor system isn’t as good as we had hoped, our team is getting older, and we are in the thick of a pennant race now with zero guarantee for the future, so why not go for the green? It’s not impossible to imagine Gio gets a little DJ magic and pitches 6 good innings in a WC elimination game while Moose and Schoop hit HRs. Once we are in the playoffs anything is possible.
  11. Means nothing. They probably thought he was a catcher when that came out. Honestly, our own poll is more current/ accurate than MLB pipeline. Their list is current. They update it all the time. Our list has him in the top 30 as well.
  12. Granderson is a horrible defensive player these days.
  13. When they said zero tolerance, that was only if he pitched like Albers.
  14. His point is if you’re not playing well enough to beat the Reds in crunch time then you really aren’t a playoff caliber team. Technically yes they can get swept by the Reds and still win the division but you’re really lowering your odds of getting it done by every loss.
  15. True but we ending July 7-2 in our last 9 and pitching carried us so it doesn't paint a full picture. A big part of our ERA was our team defense which took a major hit with the trades.
  16. 10-13 in August with a 5.50 ERA.
  17. How’d that work out for us and the Royals? For what it’s worth Baseball America just ranked CC as the best NL manager.
  18. I don’t understand why or how he’s overrated. His team has improved each year. We were technically supposed to be in rebuild for quite a bit longer. All GMs have moves that dont pan out. All of them. But the one thing you can’t take away from Stearns is that this team is in a much better place today than when he took over and going forward. We are 9th in runs scored and 7th scored in the NL. Solidly middle of the pack. Our farm system is ranked in the 20’s currently.
  19. Anyone else offended that we gave Coppers and Sheets number to Kratz?
  20. Albers has to be DFAd right? Or at least a fake injury to get him off the roster?
