But if you're talking 3-4 months out you can't say it doesn't have demand yet. If enough people are clicking and looking to buy this far out, to them that means it is in demand. And as it gets closer if that doesn't hold true or data changes then it would come down. Its essentially how its supposed to work. There's deals galore out there. Because someone refuses to use the deals because they want or demand something else instead, well that means there is a value on what their demanding. In this case, wanting the comfort/knowledge or early choosing of where to sit by having your ticket 3-4 months in advance seems to have value to folks (since they're looking to do it). Well, to do that it is logical there is a premium on that or to charge more for people who value that, if not enough do then the price will come down. Or many here pointed out how cheap the OF seats, non peak Sat/Sun games are and the response is well I don't want those I want better, well yea that means there is demand for those and makes sense as to why its more money. Essentially, tickets are ridiculous I want something affordable!! Response: OK here is $5 tickets vs a 95 win team. Here are $10-15 tickets to be in OF or upper deck for like any game. Response: Well, not that. IDK, I get its all frustrating to have to pay for things but I just don't understand what people expect for Major League Baseball.

I think the main thing to note from the complaints in this thread is there is no reason to buy tickets 3-4 months in advance. Loge outfield for 3 days from now vs NY is $51. Meanwhile, the Brewers just emailed offers for $5 tickets to games next week vs a perennial AL playoff team, ridiculous price gouging!!! ETA: I went to the Seattle Sat game which had the Giannis jersey giveaway, which will likely be the most in demand giveaway of the year. MY friends got loge outfield for about $40 a few days before the game, I got like 20th row behind the dugout for like $70 a few hours before

I've been looking only on stubhub because its quick and easy (if I go I'll then compare to direct from Brewers) to do for the Yankees Friday game and you can sit in the same sections described above but field level for less than what was just posted above, I'd assume loge is even less. I mean, like $65-70 to sit like 10 rows behind the dugout for MLB involving the Yankees doesn't seem too crazy...

I had that on in the background today, yea that was ridiculous. At some point a called 3rd strike to end an ending happened too where the pitch wasn't really close at all, way off the plate. I don't recall which team it was against but it was against whoever the announcers were as they commented and picked on Wendelstedt and called him out on how terrible it was. I'm for robots but if they still hesitate at least give each team like 2 per game they can challenge. There was one in the Fri Brewers game that would've ended the 9th either for the win or to keep it at 1-1(which they did anyway) but it was a clear missed. Would've been a good time to challenge and end an inning rather than give the opportunity for a bad call to change the outcome. Side note Lucas Erceg was throwing 100 in it. Announcers made some comments on how MKE traded him for nothing but his stuff is so good so they can't believer why etc. Of course I'd assume they don't know the backstory on being a position player and all that.

If you think they're not good and want to get something back while they still have upside prospect value, sure. Or if yes there is a different proven player you're trading for and have to give something back. Otherwise if its out of the supposed 'logjam', I think the start of the season has shown exactly why it wasn't needed to trade any of them away. A month in, two OFs are hurt. Weimer still looks like he can't hit at the MLB level. Frelick has been ok but not great.

Yea gotta say this is a heck of a performance by Rea to get through all this traffic. I also went to double check Gray's contract with how great he's looked. Yea that 3rd year at that age makes it tough but all in all its probably going to fine barring injury. For the Brewers to do it though you probably needed one less year or an option on it, or just to have it be less per year. Its at least in the realm of something they could've pulled off but 25 mil per year for guys in their mid 30s is generally an area to stay away from, even if once in a while someone defies the odds. And Gray's game/style does seem to be the type that could defy it, barring injury

Just yesterday when Dunn was hitting 4th (or close to it) I decided to double check his minors hitting stats. Yea there's no reason to think those few good games to start the year aren't fools gold. Not say that he can't be solid/competent and respectable player and its good he seems to have a good approach/eye instead of the zillion Ks we've watched for years, but any expectation of some great hitter should be tempered.

Right, sucks for him but didn't he just opt in instead of hitting FA? don't recall for sure. That trade was so weird. Col basically gave him a way in order to not pay the whole contract. Then just gave a similar amount of money to Bryant right away who is a clearly worse player. But hey at least the owner isn't being cheap, spend that money!! Col has had those couple of good runs in the last 15ish years so tough to bash them a ton, but the last few years have been some real head scratchers for them.

well he's not gonna hack it as a starter then in the low 90s. So many starters can do the upper 90s now and MKE has been a spot in the last few years to figure out ways to get an extra 2-3 MPH out of someone rather than the other way around like has happened with him. Good bounce back from the O, remember the bases loaded and Contreras out at the wall, this could have been a big number for them today

Hall in the Seattle game was really unlucky on weak hits and dribblers, overall did fine. Just like the dribble Turang just messed up to give up a run. But really the main thing is why is his FB way off from what was told. Is he hurt, does he need more build up, etc.

I think what's being a bit overlooked in this talk like how there should be someone overseeing/double checking this stuff is that the translator was that guy, he seemingly was supposed to be the trusted one all this stuff. But the last post there does kinda get into where I'd guess some shenanigans went on, which is in the cover up and story after. Right. I thought it was good enough last year. WAs really surprised they shortened it a bit more this year. IMO, adding one second to each this would've been fine to less rushing a smidge. The pace speed improvement would still be great compared to what it was.

Maybe but with the 3 ABs per pitcher rule I don't think completely so. You don't want to put Ls back to back so that when the Lefty reliever comes on he'll have to face a righty too. For this specific example, the easy tweak I'd have made is usually flopping him and Adames based on track record. That said, Adames is outperforming Hoskins so far so really can't complain or nitpick too much. Like I said, this isn't a big thing to me and gets talked about too much, but it just seems weird when you only have 2 proven hitters on the team to start the year that the guy getting paid like 20 mil only bats 6th most days

I'm not a lineup nitpicker, but one for me all year is why Hoskins has been consistently low in the 6ish area. Most times I look at it and realize its due to L/R manipulation so it is what it is. Which I assume that is the case today to in order to stagger the lefties. But as one of the only proven hitters on the team it still seems kind of odd to not work around him a bit, rather than the other way around

You would've had to dip one less spot down was the point and in theory the guy acquired in FA would be more reliable than guys like Junis, Gasser, Ashby, Ross, Hall, and even Rhea. All these people were big question marks going into the year no matter how much the "projections" said they were just as good as guys who have done it for years. Of course, the acquired guy could've gotten hurt to like anyone can, but you'd have had a guy who's been a competent starter in the league for the last few years instead of questions abound. That said, Rhea is coming through just fine. Ross looks good to me and has a chance to be really solid, but how many innings can you really expect in his situation? If these two can maintain their 'solidness' along with Freddy the team has a good chance to keep this going as long as the O doesn't fall apart like the last few years.

Nice to have legit fun offense for a change. Hopefully it keeps up and isn't just a few weeks fluke.

Holliday clearly overrated

I'm still of the view that best guess is the interpreter put him in a very bad spot. I just can't see someone who has been so focused on his image/legend/reputation being this dumb to be doing something like this that he knows would ruin everything for him. Sure degen gamblers do dumb stuff so its possible but I just can't imagine he'd be this dumb to risk it all for a 10K bets when he's gonna make over a billion dollars the next 10 years But main thing I'm adding to some of the comments here in terms of mocking him or saying how dumb he is to trust his interpreter etc and how he should have financial guys etc. Really, the person he should have been able to trust the most is this guy, a guy he's known for years and years before he was rich. The leaches trying to prey on his wealth now should be the ones hes skeptical on, not someone he thought was his best friend. Also, everyone here realizes countless athletes/celebs have been robbed blind by their supposed financial/management people right? Its not crazy at all that he'd trust his supposed best friend over strangers. Still, I'm guessing there's a lot to still come out and we should just wait back and see.

OK thanks. OK, then I noticed nothing weird the last few years so I don't have anything negative to say. This weekend was the first time I ever noticed differences. Since Covid, the brewers have rarely sold out for whatever reasons so to me the prices for good seats have been perfectly fine. As of now due to the generally low demand the fans probably haven't been hurt too much by it and if it is possible for them to dip below the preseason 'face' some have probably come out ahead at times. If they get really good again with a fun offense like say in 2011 when the place was rocking then maybe it'll be a bit different but right now they couldn't even sell out playoff games last year. Also, the idea here is that the Brewers get the money rather than scalper or resaler, generally it makes sense to me. I'd rather the team get it than ticketmaster. Think of big concert stuff now too, unless you're using a way to prevent resale/scalping the artist might as well sell for $400 rather than a fair $80 only to have someone else take that $320 difference, same thing here.

Of course their algorithm could be off (especially if the team crashes and doesn't do well). But what you're describing doesn't seem crazy to me. Labor Day is 4 months away, they're not just gonna give away tickets right now because its not sold out yet. They have years and years worth of data for themselves and other teams that tells them demand will be greater closer to the date and that they can get the higher prices later on. Or that jsut in general being half full now doesn't mean anything. They know that most people buy a few days to a week or two before a game so they're not going to just slash prices way beforehand for that or Fri/Sat games. The spike you noticed I'd guess was tied to an increase in online traffic as the season has started and team has looked good. Also, if you've bought on resale over the years for anything, the 'seller' usually asks for the world this far in advance and if they don't sell it comes down closer. Essentially what you're describing is the team doing same thing. This discussion would come in if you get to like a day before a game and they don't slash to sell out. However, the algorithm probably would be against that too because if the customer learns that prices drop the day before a game everyone will just wait until last minute, thus costing them money long term. But really, as someone else said just go to stub/seatgeek and compare what the team charges vs what the market is giving. For the Sat Mariners game I bought direct from the Brewers at about 3pm as it was clearly cheaper than what was on the resale sites. I bought field level just past the dugout. I actually had forgotten this was in place until this thread though, so thanks for the reminder. When deciding what games to go to last weekend I noticed different prices for the same tickets each day and it didn't make sense to me as I didn't remember it like that in the past. I'd totally forgotten about this coming in. And as frustrating as things you're noticing can be, we should do our best to remind ourselves home brewer games have typically been among the most affordable in MLB. The complaint would be more about the entire industry of sports/concerts post covid, but the market seems to be supporting these new high prices as of now.

Houser with a solid game for Mets today, made into the 6th inning, 1 run. Its only one game and we all know what he is, basically an average SP who can soak up 5-6 innings, nothing special. But considering that's exactly what they could use right now make you think it wouldn't have been the worst money to spend to keep for depth.

Probably won't win another game all year
