  1. Current basic sitcoms that could fill that void for you would be Goldbergs, Blackish, and Brooklyn 99.
  2. For the unevenness stuff you can chalk that up to the network messing with them. They were in a constant battle against cancellation and the network pushing out showrunners and such and trying to change the show to get better ratings. Wonder how much better it would've been if they just left them alone.
  3. Right, live sports is one of the few instances where you really need, well, at least where it's really really better if you just have normal cable.
  4. For sure, I'm frankly shocked it's gone on this long with everything such as Netflix, etc. It's been a running joke for years how everyone uses each others logins and they've done very little to counter it. It's only a matter of time.
  5. IDK, I have multiple friends that use my Fox Sports login to watch Brewers/Bucks. One tries my charter stuff on everything where you need to show that you have cable and it works. The funniest part is that I actually got rid of Charter in November and the logins still work. I have internet another way now and am still able to login to the Charter app and watch everything for free. I'm going to keep riding it for free as long as I can just to spite them, even though I hate not just having normal cable. 3 months so far. My dad has Spectrum and when I try to use it, what I described happens. I can watch Hallmark Channel but it will not allow me to connect to Spectrum live without being on their network, i.e., in their house. You wouldn't be able to use the Spectrum TV app but you should be able to use 3rd party apps like Fox Sports Go, ESPN, TBS/TNT, etc. Many networks offer their own app. As long as those channels are part of the original cable package you should be able to log into those using Spectrum credentials. For context, I believe the Spectrum TV app is a way to access your cable subscription without needing to use one of their cable boxes. Say you have 4 or 5 TVs in your household, having a box for each of them would get pricey, so you could use the app instead to cut down on the box fees. It's only intended for use at a customer's home. ------- Yes that is what Spectrum TV app is. It's designed as a way for you pay for it on one TV but then have access to all your other TVs(so you don't have to pay 15/month for each box). As I said though, I currently watch the Spectrum TV on my smart TV using other internet and it works fine and has been for 3 months since cancelling. Chances are this is just due to not logging out and wouldn't work if say I just gave you the details now and you tried it on your TV. And as you said, using your Charter login to access FS Go, ESPN etc worked for several other people off mine for years with no issue. No one ever tried the Spectrum App so IDK. I know for one of them it has since stopped working once I cancelled but I'd guess he logged out and couldn't get back in. Others it's still chugging along. If you lived wherever and had a friend paying for cable here I'd be really surprised if you couldn't log into FSGO using his login. I do have a friend's info as a backup if/when mine stops working, I got it because I thought I would get cut off, so I guess I'll know more if/when I ever have to try it. But that reminds me, I gave that login to the other friend who's stopped working from mine and it worked for him no problem.

  7. If you know someone who does pay for cable you can probably get their logins and watch everything for free. Toss your friend like $20/month
  8. Weird, I was under the impression it was a fireable offense to not sign him and that our owner was a cheapskate who should just sell if he doesn't want to win. Still, if I'm the Cubs I think it's a good signing. Attempt to sure up their biggest weakness and only cost money (which they have plenty of) and no prospects from their already depleted system. For us, good one to avoid
  9. Speaking of Galvis. His September is 143/234 for a 496 OPS dropping his seasons down to 260/296/732. I remember much consternation on not getting him.
  10. haha guy puts up a 2.00 ERA over 3 months throwing 97-100. yea no way I was high on him, knew the whole time he was a bum. Guy has one dominant outing in AAA, he's figured it out and ready to dominate if you don't see it you're ignorant!!!! haha Just jiving there of course. You're last post is much more realistic on acknowledging the range of possibilities with Black as opposed to a few post earlier when it was "definitely". Think that's what most folks are getting at, just trimming the small sample overreactions and absolutisms. love the energy and positivity, hopefully they keep winning and you can rub it in all our faces how you were right on your current view.
  11. I said what would you have said about him in mid June last year as he was raking up an upper 1 to low 2s ERA? Not what in the preseason this year after he flopped 2nd half last year. That was the point, guys can get hot for a bit and come back to earth really quickly. Thus, why one should go nuts over a 30 year old who's done nothing and been hurt a ton having a good 10 game stretch.
  12. Black has way way way way better stuff than the 2 mental midgets that you just mentioned. Command. It’s that simple. Right? Go take a look at what Barnes did through around mid June last year and let me know how many years and how long of an extension you'd have given him? Simple, obvious, this guy had figured it out. He also throws 99 with a big slider, I'd pretty confidently say his slider bites more than Blacks.
  13. shocker. yes, anyone who throws hard and has a a good 6-7 game run is a future closer. He's up right after Barnes and Taylor Williams.
  14. Yep, obviously yesterday's result is not ideal, but the command of his pitches was crap. He couldn't get his breaking ball over, and when you are forced to groove a FB, it doesn't matter how fast it is. I'm still optimistic about his chances of being a solid late inning pen option. I don't think anyone is calling him a future closer quite yet, though. Well I bet someone is saying it...haha
  15. My best guess would be that he's not more than a borderline starter, so basically a utility IF. But, I also think he could've had good value for MKE in that he's at least a much more contact friendly type hitter than what Arcia has been so far. So I could've seen him has an alternative there and profiles as the type of hitter we'd like to see more of (even if his %s and OPS etc don't end up that great), but if the powers decided they're sticking with Arcia for another year or two then I understand the urgency to move him now. I'd say if we get value will come simply down to Black/Pomeranz and if we get more than just this year out of them. If you get multiple years of solid contribution I don't think anyone can be too upset. If both guys are gone this year, well then we probably didn't get much back and might've been better to keep as insurance policy at IF. We'll see, hope the guy does well and at least one of these guys does well for us the next few years too.
  16. One factor that probably comes into everything is if someone is going to let him try to start again. As in, he might value one more opportunity at it and choose that route with a non contending team that gives him that chance. If he fails, go back to the pen again. That could also factor into what money he gets as well. In other news, Dubon did hit a ding dong the other day. He's at 4/16 with a HR so far.
  17. The issue of not using pitches sure seems to be a theme for a lot of pitchers this year doesn't it?
  18. Moving back to Aug 15 is so late there isn't many games left. I think this is a good date to have it set. A tweak that pops in my head is to adjust the expanded roster to August though. I know they're changing all that stuff more next year. So maybe like you get one more roster spot now and then however many extra they're going to allow come Sept. An unintended effect of this change is that you can't grab depth and bench bats due to roster spots issues. Take your Granderson type trade last year, you can't do that now since you won't have a roster spot for him. Or other smaller bullpen moves, you can't grab guys because you don't have roster spots for them. Heck, or maybe that was an intended consequence, who knows.
  19. Thanks. I hate this phrase as well as it says nothing and just something to say when you can't come up with anything of substance. Take last year, Granderson wasn't a needle mover was he but he helped. Soria, helped. Lyles last year, helped. But since some unknown Needle is involved...
  20. 26th roster spot helps? I know what you mean though, kind of locks in bullpen spots a bit. Though Albers will be gone to free up a spot
  21. Essentially Black is just like Wahl, who generally speaking I think we were all excited about getting. But, we got him for Broxton who we were cutting anyway so basically for nothing. That's the difference. But just pointing out to not hold how we got him against the player himself. He's got ridiculous stuff if they can hone it in.
  22. Maybe MKE and the league don't value Dubon nearly what he is on this site, but man these guys seem like the type you can get for nothing, not using your closest/best prospect. That said, it's not like I think Dubon is ever star or big time player but he was going to play in the bigs in some fashion
  23. If that's all it is I'm not a fan as well. He's the type you should be able to get for next to nothing, not our best prospect who we might need soon if Arcia continues to falter
  24. I thought maybe in return for taking on some of Brandon Crawford's contract they could get some relievers too. Maybe something like that, trying to think outside the box. I'm sure we'll know soon
  25. Gotta be a reliever.
