The only run the Cubs have seen the last two games is a Cole Hamels homer....if they lose today that sad struggling offense is set to face unhittable Trevor Williams. Going to be huge panic in Chi-Town with a loss today.
Depends how we treat #163. If we go all in, use all the elite bullpen arms, and then lose...yah bad news for us. If we treat it like a normal game and don't use those guys unless it is close/winning then maybe the disadvantage isn't as big.
The Cardinals are goin to play all of those games like it is the World Series. They would take sweet victory in watching the Cubs choke away the division. It is a nice consolation prize. If we want to win this division we can and will do it. We have a favorable match-up tonight in a struggling starter who doesn't go deep into games and then a terrible Tigers team. We should go 3-1 at worst here people. We are projected to face: Zimmerman Norris Turnbull
Well thanks to the Brewers storming back into the divisional race I will have to buy both games 1 and 2 for the NLDS because I don't know if their weekend game is hypothetically on a Friday or Sunday now. If they win the division it will be a mad dash from eastern Iowa to get there on time. This is a nice problem to have.
I think we will win the division if the Cubs lose the next two days and we win tonight. That would put us up one game going into the final weekend. I REALLY don’t want to play a Game 163...at all. That being said a Game 163 is a very real possibility at this point.
I’d hate to be the Cardinals right now. Blown out 12-4, ejections aplenty, three errors, and now out of a postseason spot. Yikes. Brewers will get their chance to clinch under their own power tomorrow and potentially take the divisional lead. Wow
No, having Gio Gonzalez start meaningful games is the problem. What in the heck are you talking about? The guy was 2-0 with an ERA under 2 for the Brewers coming into tonight. I'll go ahead and admit it, I'm hoping you say something to get banned if this keeps up. It is a three start stint...stats are meaningless for the most part. Give this guy the ball for 30 starts...yeah, I wouldn’t want to either. He is not a realizable guy and long term people would hate him as much as Anderson.
No, having Gio Gonzalez start meaningful games is the problem. Wow, Gio really grinds your gears, doesn't he? The Cardinals are a likely playoff team for a reason. They are a good team. Uhh, no I guess?
Khris Davis-esque I think. Khris Davis ran good routes and had fairly good reaction time. He did have a terrible arm though and whiffed on a lot of grounders down the line.
I'll beat a similar dead horse then. It was 100% obvious that Counsell was done with Villar. True, but it sure seems like Schoop is getting similar Villar treatment. I mean, Perez plays more than he does(I say this without actually knowing if its true). Very wrong in August...somewhat similar in September.
