  1. Sorry, that was meant to be SB, not RBI. Fixed. That said since you mentioned it I was kind of amazed to see that Villar is on pace for 72 RBI despite sucking this year and leading off all year so far. That would be 9 more than last year. They showed a graphic yesterday and he actually has hit extremely well with RISP which probably helps the RBI total despite overall pretty ugly numbers.
  2. I mentioned this last year when August was rolling around. To be honest if it didn't happen last year when his value was exponentially more than it is now I really doubt any team would consider it now. It wouldn't surprise me if a team did...but what if Braun suddenly wants to go to a contender? No one wants that contract and I don't think a team wants to risk that at all.
  3. Corey Knebel could easily be our Cy Young.
  4. Corey Knebel's stats are ridiculous. I knew they were good....but wow.
  5. Working a 10 pitch at bat is not terrible. Not always going to come through in those spots. Last I checked they are major league pitchers out there too. It was terrible. Racking up a pitch count is pretty meaningless when it is a reliever.
  6. The great part is the fact batboys are employed by the home team so it was a Mets employee who did it.
  7. 3.15 No person shall be allowed on the playing field during a game except players and coaches in uniform, managers, news photographers authorized by the home team, umpires, officers of the law in uniform and watchmen or other employees of the home club. In case of unintentional interference with play by any person herein authorized to be on the playing field (except members of the team at bat who are participating in the game, or a base coach, any of whom interfere with a fielder attempting to field a batted or thrown ball; or an umpire) the ball is alive and in play. If the interference is intentional, the ball 28 Rule 3.10 to 3.15 shall be dead at the moment of the interference and the umpire shall impose such penalties as in his opinion will nullify the act of interference.
  8. Explanation for those watching gamecast: -Anderson pops it up just down the firstbase side -Pitcher, catcher, and firstbaseman all let it fall -Catcher picks it up stares at 2nd -decides not to get double play chance -double clutches to first -Anderson safe Sogard play: -pop up to corner of the dugout -batboy is a lost puppy -picks up his chair trying to get away -runs into Flores right as he is about to catch it -umpire calls interference on the batboy(seriously) -crew chief comes over to talk about the stupid call he just made -they correct call to just a foul ball -Terry Collins livid and gets ejected
  9. Gamecast only here. Please explain? Shaw struck out looking and was quite upset. I think most umpires would have tossed him immediately. He was still jawing back to the dugout and Craig was no where to be seen. I figured when they came back from commercial they were going to say Shaw got tossed but somehow he didn't. If he wasn't going to get tossed for screaming and swinging his bat around I am not sure he could get tossed even if he really tried.
  10. I find it extremely hysterical when everyone cries for machines when a call goes against us, but I never hear it mentioned when the call goes our way.
  11. To play devils advocate, the Sogard ball is likely an out if the 1b isn't holding the runner on. Can't say for sure, but it certainly seemed like it. That said, I agree with you 100% that Anderson should have still tried to bunt. Sogard comment was unrelated to the Anderson comment.
  12. Stupid not to just let Anderson bunt with two strikes. Chase Anderson isn't touching Zack Wheeler swinging and even if he did it would likely gift the Mets a double play. AND of course Sogard gets a hit.
  13. Franklin played that ball perfectly and made the best throwhome I have seen a Brewer OFer make in awhile. It was high, but when you throw it that hard with no bounce I guess you can afford that.
  14. Eric Thames might be a soon to be example(yes I know he does fit your 1000 AB part): http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=thames001eri Omar Infante(good example in my opinion...he wasn't as terrible as Sogard was prior to his AS year though): http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/i/infanom01.shtml
  15. What on earth are we putting out there defensively... That was a fun 1st inning though Chase.
  16. Great start for the Brewers. 20+ pitch first inning.
  17. Jeez 15 years? Multiple sub-4 ERA seasons and you are flirting with Top 10 status.
  18. I was hoping that was going to happen for my sake. Quite convenient.
  19. Well assuming he also STAYS HEALTHY I would hypothetically(since no specific player was given) trade him. Guerra is old and a injury risk. If we keep him I would hope we are making other legitimate moves to compete.
