  1. He is going to get a shot a lot sooner if he hits and Broxton doesn't. Both could get calls, but I would think Brinson would be more of the direct replacement for Broxton if Broxton doesn't get it together. Phillips seems more likely to end up with a Nieuwenhuis 2016 type role, 400 prorated PAs or so and moving all over the OF. I figured the same and actually want to see a rotation where Cordell/Phillips can still get major ABs even after Brinson gets called up. Though Santana hasn't impressed that greatly himself. At least looks like he belongs on an MLB roster.

  3. There were a lot of kids yesterday at Wrigley rocking the Thames stuff.
  4. It was more the rationalization of saying "Well everybody does it or blah blah blah" to make one feel better about Braun. If other players do it I don't know that really makes Ryan Braun a better person. I cheer for Braun too, but I am not going to rationalize and make myself think Braun didn't do anything wrong with his PED fiasco. Everyone can move on, but don't try to sugar coat the past. At no time in my post did I refer to Braun, yet you inferred that's what I was thinking. I told you I wasnt, and yet again you inferred incorrectly. I'm not sugar coating anything. I just don't care about PEDs period. I'll say it again. I cheer for the name on the front, not the back. Please don't assume you know what I'm thinking. You've been wrong twice here. Just relooked my reply had nothing to do with you not sure why you thought it did. I replied to someone else not you. So calm down there man I wasn't inferring anything about you.
  5. Come on now let's be serious. Our bullpen is not good, the offense is not as good as something, and the starters have mostly played over their head. No thanks.

  7. Agreed completely. This is always my argument to the jackasses who boo Braun. Everyone is on something and pushing the envelope, that's why players today don't look like Ben Ogilvie or Robin Yount. Sounds like an excuse to cheer for Braun and think he did no wrong.
  8. Erceg/Gatewood doing decent helps ease the pain of Diaz. Not sure I am surprised Clark is starting slow.
  9. Basing a decision based on projections makes zero sense. Projections are fun, but they mean nothing. Silly really. I think Milone is meant to be a veteran garbage can and the fact no better lefty exists that can also start. Too early to bring up young guys so this is what we get to see. Shows the lack of depth when it comes to lefties to a degree.
  10. The Dodgers may struggle with LHP, but while Braun would solve that(only partially) Bellinger playing well and making about 20mil less is just if not more valuable. To them I think hitting LHP is more of a luxury that would be more worth it if Braun was improving them greatly regardless. Instead right now they are getting good production out of the position and I doubt they are that pressed to trade away the farm and open their wallet just for one guy to mash some LHP.
  11. I believe that is incorrect. Brewers had a .5 game lead and this gives them a 1.5 game lead. So they would have to win another game for that to be the case.
  12. Isn't common sense for the pitcher to drop down a bunt to advance the runner? That wasn't at all what I was saying. It would have been good baseball had it worked. I know I was taking a stab at Arcia's pitcher-like performance at the plate.

  14. Unless they are cruising towards June with an incredible record, no. I'm a bit confused by this. If they were cruising in June with a great record, why would that make them more likely to want to move Braun? Clearly not what I meant. You aren't going to change your view on trading Braun with an OK record. If we are enter June 10 games over .500 maybe you think twice about it. I recall such a situation coming up a few years ago with a big time ace and that respective team had a .500ish record still in the wild card race. They team wisely traded the pitcher(who to be fair was a rental). Still unless you are really confident this team is special this year or can be next year don't get caught up in a hot start.
  15. NBA? I forgot that that's still going on. How nice to have an employer that let's you leave your job to go work for someone else (most likely for much more money) for weeks at a time. If he's doing NBA playoffs he's got to be gone for at least a month, right? Depends on what channel he is doing it for etc. I doubt he is doing the finals. On another note I actually think I kind of like the variety over a 162 game season.
