  1. I love how all the people you would expect nothing out of are carrying this offense(Thames, Shaw, Aguilar, Catchers). Of course that means we are probably going to be shot back down to earth here quick for some of them.
  2. http://www.mlbstream.me/baseball/465283/4/milwaukee-brewers-vs-colorado-rockies-live-stream-online.html That link above has been working for me great at school. Is this a beginning of the year freebie or is this something that would be available all year long or is it a Rockies thing? Looks like an illegal stream
  3. Buy: Kodi Medeiros Sell: Corey Ray Made my selections on buying someone with low stock and selling someone with high stock. With neither of them trending in that direction already. Clark/Phillips/Lara are good picks, but they are already trending down quite a bit so that isn't any fun. I think Medeiros is either going to find some success as a starter or be moved to the bullpen where I think he can excel a lot more. I am selling Corey Ray because while I think he will have a fine year he might drop a bit not putting up huge numbers.
  4. What Fortuno was upset about is an organizational thing that outdates Stearns and the Brewers are not the only ones who do it. Rookie ball pitchers usually can't throw 2-seamers or possibly other big time pitches they possess. Now whether this helps anything who knows. The players don't seem to understand it(usually frustrated) and I think it is put in there to weed out fringe guys. Later in his interview it seems the Brewers were pretty good to him and Fortuno was just super high on himself. I mean he said he was the best pitcher in camp...
  5. I don't see a huge problem drafting a WR in the first if it a #1 type guy. That means next offseason they can save a boatload of money getting rid of Nelson or Cobb(or not resigning Adams if he has a big year). Then could take that money to get a good veteran CB. Of course that would take the perfect situation. Any CB we draft is doubtful to help this year anyway and as has been said it is a deep CB year. Typically you are more likely to go elsewhere with your #1 pick. I probably wouldn't do it, but I don't think it is a huge obvious mistake.
  6. Yah, but cigarretes are legal.
  7. I have never understand why there is this unwritten snobby baseball fan rule that you must always hate homer announcers. Homer announcers are awesome, Wayne and Larry getting pumped after big Packer plays - awesome. Lucas and Lepay, same thing. I'll take them every time over the standard neutral announcer. In 2008 when the Brewers turned a double play to at least tie for the wild card, Rock's totally homer reaction was amazing. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v3567115/lee-grounds-into-a-double-play-to-end-the-game Think that rule is more for like the NFL where it is nationally televised. No one wants to hear a homer then.
  8. The reason you like other announcers is probably because you haven't watched them 162 times a year for the past decade. Watch any other announcer for 1,000 games and they will annoy you with certain things.
  9. Agreed there are some disasters out there. Most of them former players who got the gig for that reason only.
  10. I've listened to others. I like a lot more than BA. There's some I don't like. Anderson is such a nationally touted guy but his picture is in the dictionary next to the word vanilla. I look forward to the day when he finally becomes too big for Milwaukee and he moves on. Hopefully taking Rock with him. No you don't. No you definitely do not. Do you know who is next on the depth chart?
  11. Manny Pena Manny Pena Manny Pena Manny Pena. How can one freaking letter in a 4 letter name trip you up so badly? Even though people keep telling me he's a great broadcaster, I still don't see it. Though it is a matter of opinion in general you are wrong according to the endless announcing gigs he gets. Grows every year.
  12. Exactly what I was saying earlier. Do you expect a kid to behave well if his parents don't? No. Same concept here.
  13. Mario Feliciano is hardly ever talked about on this forum and was pretty far outside our Top 25. It is under the radar not off the radar. I guess that is how I took it.
  14. Everytime he gets picked off I see his lead and wonder where our 1st base coach is. Why is he even allowed to take a lead like that? I have a hard time gauging the blame on a lot of his basepath mistakes because last year Counsell encouraged his aggresiveness. With the kind of player he is I just don't get why you would encourage that. It is like encouraging an alcoholic to drink more. I understand what you are saying, but you would think a professional ball player would at some point say to himself "Gee, I make a lot of outs on the base paths. Maybe I should take things down a notch when I get on base" Totally agree, but all players are different. There is a reason we have coaches and can avoid some boneheaded stuff. I know it isn't so simple to limit the lead of a basestealer, but gesh that lead was ridiculous.
  15. I believe they are measuring fast balls differently this year, when it comes out of the pitcher's hand vs. closer to the plate as they have done in past years. Supposed to make a 1 or 2 mph difference, so Peralta still seems to be throwing harder than he normally does. I wasn't aware of that. I guess I didn't notice an notable difference the last two games before Peralta. Maybe it is just because I focus on Peralta's velocity than other players. A lot of times when Peralta goes through long stretches of struggle his velocity is notably down.
