  1. Brinson isn't moving for anyone short of Sale...or a mega value type player. However if we package Lucroy with Nelaon Gallo+ could be plausible. I imagine they want a starter not a reliever in this package deal they want from us.
  2. Pretty sure he will be shipped out to the team offering the best deal. Who cares what situation that team is in.
  3. This isn't a hard thought. Package a pitcher get fair value.
  4. I really just don't understand this move for Lucroy. He just doesn't want to play 1B/DH even if it doesn't effect him financially. Just weird.
  5. Sort of except when you are a catcher. Teams want a guy who can start everyday at catcher. Once over 30 that is not so easy.
  6. I can't be mad at Stearns if I don't know when the Indians shed light of planning Lucroy to rotate between C/1B/DH.
  7. How did Lucroy overplay his hand. If the Indians have him off the catcher position 1/3rd of the year that could really hurt his FA value. Seems a bit risky with no financial positive to do it.
  8. The issue was Yan Gomes being there long term. In reality Yan Gomes is the long term catcher come 2018. It wouldn't be wise to move him off catcher entirely for a whole year in 2017. When Lucroy is at DH/1B Gomes would play C to stay fresh for 2018 and beyond. Gomes is just as good and probably better defensively. So they don't lose anything by have Licroy play elsewhere sometimes.
  9. Which isn't surprising as Gomes is pretty good defensively and it keeps Lucroy fresh. Gotta make Gomes work for that money as he is around longer.
  10. Interesting thought. Miller was green lighted to be traded at 10-11pm last night...right when the Lucroy trade was being wrapped up and Lucroy notified.
  11. Sounds like Dodgers were mystery team. Back in it now. They have the pitchers you people demand.
  12. They probably intended Gomes to steal at-bats when Lucroy slumps or whatever. Or play whoever is hot. What if Lucroy hits the DL and Gomes mashes while he is away? That's what Lucroy is worried about.
  13. And assure him starting gig next year. Technically he just wanted money. Cleveland told us to appease him.
  14. Problem is Lucroy's market sucks. It was a dogfight with Cleveland and the Mets for least dissapointing package.
  15. Indians would NOT guarantee Lucroy full time gig next year. Imploding the deal.
  16. Guys the Indians trade is over. Both side have come out and reported it as over forever.
  17. Wrong,. It's a business move by Lucroy. And a smart one. We may not like it, but i'm not going to beat up Lucroy over trying to use his leverage. How was it a smart business move?
  18. 4m Jon Heyman‏ @JonHeyman dodgers were another team that had talks on lucroy. tho word is, at time it was part of a bigger deal involving more teams.
  19. Stearns has said the deal is over. No chance to repair.
  20. He must just not want to play there for some reason. He is stupid if it was all about money because he just lost his chance then. Now he will get traded to a team he can't suck a few million from.
  21. Getting one of the best catcher in MiLB baseball is giving Lucroy away? Wow! Guy could end up better than Lucroy!
  22. Jesus Stearns throw some money out there and end this nightmare.
  23. 10:15am: ESPN’s Buster Olney tweets that the efforts to convince Lucroy to approve the trade will continue, so the book on the proposed trade may not be fully closed just yet. Lucroy, it should be noted, is on one of the most team-friendly contracts in Major League Baseball, and teams will often utilize financial incentives to convince players to waive no-trade clauses. An extension or at least a restructuring of his 2017 salary ($5.25MM) could make sense, though that’s simply speculation on my behalf.
  24. So it is over money! They guy who wants to contend is all about the money. What a winner.
