Discussing waiving his no trade clause? Possibly and to pack his stuff. Maybe avoid the media? Amazing it has been this quiet and things are so close he has left the dugout(presumably). David Stearns is at the ballpark so very possible he went to go talk about no trade clause stuff.
Probably won't DFA him until his criminal case is closed. If he goes to jail they can void the contract. Not sure it can be voided if they DFA him and he isn't on the team. Though honestly I don't know. It all may be voided regardless of where he plays. Rosenthal now reporting this is t the case. He just wouldn't get paid while in jail. If he gets temporary ban from commish he would also not get paid then too obviously.
Small market. Only had half a year left of control from what I heard. They have other good relievers and may not feel an all out pursuit of a wild card is worth it
Reports are that Lucroy has not talked about it and most say players never hear about it until the deal is completed minus the approval from the player. So Lucroy likely hasn't heard anything.
Sometimes they can get pulled out mid game. Also now that the Brewers game is about to start and Lucroy would have to approve/negotiate his no trade clause being waived nothing will happen for hours now I would think.
paul hoynes @hoynsie Heard Lucroy deal getting close. Tribe is still in it. Ken Rosenthal reporting Tribe catcher Francisco Mejia could be part of deal.
Ken thinks Lucroy sweepstakes is nearing an end. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Again on #Brewers’ Lucroy: Nothing in place with #Indians or anyone else. Talks fluid, seemingly nearing conclusion.
Just for all of you guys Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo I just talked to a rival GM who actually believes Mets are the favorite. As Ken says, talks are fluid with clubs. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Two rival GMs believe #Indians are front-runner for #Brewers’ Lucroy. One prospect who could lead package: High A catcher Francisco Mejia.
