  1. I do think any win involves Miz. I think they will throw him either winning or losing. Could end terribly, but we need people like Miz to be great in October to get anywhere anyway. As far as this being some horrible franchise loss, meh, I guess I’m just not that obsessive over the whole Greg storyline. Certainly not worse than a home loss in Game 7 of the NLCS. Maybe I’d care if the Cubs went on to get to the World Series…but that would be quite a shock.
  2. Where do we get these announcers? Not even a peep about one of the worst strike calls this postseason to start that AB. *** Also, good job Murph putting Yelich lead off over Chourio. Got BURNED there.
  3. Need a couple guys to string hits together. Right now everyone walking up there to score 3 runs with the swing of a bat with no one on.
  4. Based on what? Just because of the win record? Notably a single hot streak long removed from? Their starting pitching is horrid without Woodruff. Peralta is the ace and doesn’t go 6 innings half the time. It leaves almost no room for error and we need Peralta to be good and win those games. The offense is good, but it also doesn’t exactly excel at the one thing that typically wins postseason ball, homers. Good hitters, pesky…but stringing a bunch of hits together becomes rare when you get to big boy pitchers (not what the Cubs have)
  5. I’d care more if Woodruff was healthy. But he isn’t and I’m guessing he wouldn’t pitch at all in the NLCS (at least def not as a starter). For that reason I can’t think of a worse Brewers team in the playoffs, maybe 2020? This wouldn’t feel like a missed opportunity, many of the years prior is when we really blew our shot at a WS.
  6. I think y'all are really overthinking the whole pitching situation. Why on earth would you not go with your starting pitching ace on normal rest? Literally the only starter we have even worth a darn. He should be starting as much as possible and as soon as possible, period. We have the perfect situation today. Our Ace and a rested back of the pen. Even better with an off day tomorrow so they can all be emptied out today carelessly. Actually, if Peralta implodes fast enough you could probably pull him today and have some emergency ability Saturday to use him. Bullpen game makes it seem like you are trying way too hard to plan for your Game 5 without any obvious gain.
  7. If we lose to the Cubs three games in a row we in fact did not have a shot at the World Series and were actually an okay team with an outlier historically hot streak.
  8. Sucks we didn’t get the sweep. Cubs haven’t played well and aren’t that talented compared to what is likely the Dodgers next. A sweep would have given me a bit more foolish optimism we could beat the Dodgers.
  9. I think that was kinda the problem, trying too hard to pull it to advance him in the worst case. Instead flailed at a bunch of stuff away from him.
  10. Counsell has extended this game 2 minutes already pausing the game to double check and confirm his guy was out by a mile.
  11. When your starter goes .2 innings…your bullpen arm selection is kinda doomed to be questionable.
  12. If anything, why not just do a full on suicide squeeze? Pitcher is absolutely hurting for strikes, he is likely getting a hell of a fastball over the plate or another awful pitch he fouls away.
  13. Packers drafting a WR 1st round hosting the draft is wild. lol
  14. We control Contreras till he is 29/30, it’s perfect…a dream. We don’t actually have to give him a contract extension so he is an overpaid player someday.
  15. Disclaimer: I’m not that old, I’m not a purist, I have zero issues with what can currently be challenged. I find ABS to be incredibly cringe and a hard watch. It’s just not enjoyable to me. While the video attached shows a blatant call, I also watched one where the batter was ‘right’ on a ball literally (with the naked eye) on the line of the strike zone. I could see this being a fine system if it was virtually instantaneous and automatically corrected blatant wrong calls. Like the one above where it is way out or a strike easily in the zone. My enjoyment following baseball has rapidly tanked in recent years and stuff like this makes me want to watch it even less. Ever since we got virtual strike zones everyone has become an expert umpire. It’s annoying and you can’t watch a game without people moaning about it. Half the time they are wrong and don’t even understand what a strike is (thinking at least half a ball needs to be over the plate etc.)
  16. Right? Good riddance, this is a day to celebrate even if the return was a bag of dog poop. 2021 Postseason - Punched a wall and left his team high and dry. 2023 Postseason - Garbage 2024 - Missed most of season with a back injury. 2024 Postseason - Blew our Season Back injury, punched a wall to screw his team, and garbage in the postseason. Not going to help garner a bunch of interest to get a high return.
  17. That’s just an idiotic call. Lol It worked, but just laughably dumb.
  18. Truthfully the collapse of Badgers football was inevitable. Honestly, it’s amazing they stayed so good so long on the way they built their football team. The question becomes: what is rock bottom? How long to recover? Will they just become a middling team like Minnesota/Nevraska/etc.
  19. I think people are a little to used to Rodgers for years and years. Also, I think people don’t truly realize the current state of QBs in the NFL..they just ain’t the dominant force they were in the Manning to Rodgers era. Allen? Burrow? Meh…if prime Aaron Rodgers played in this era he would be regarded as the best QB in history by a mile. If Love can progress to be a little smarter of a QB and maybe find more consistency…I think he can lead a team to a Super Bowl trophy.
  20. Is who he is at this point it seems, unfortunately.
  21. I mean....hard to argue this isn't a good description for it anyway...
  22. They honestly looked great until Wilson let a 20 yard dart bounce off his chest and basically go the other way for a TD. The next drive they let a 35 yard field goal get blocked. At that point they were just grasping for a miracle by the time they got the ball again. It is a lot of talent, but it really just isn't meshing the way it needs to yet.
  23. A lot of stupid mistakes, but this honestly felt like a nice win. The defense was really good. Gave up a bit on the ground, but Stroud was hopeless nearly the entire game and 3rd downs felt impossible. The offense did a lot through the air and on the ground. Start cleaning up the mental miscues and that was a well oiled machine out there today.
