  1. I would bet 51% on Jean Segura and 49% on Jonathan Lucroy. I think Segura is someone we trade this offseason, but I don't know if that will be in 10minutes or in March. Regarding Lucroy I really could see the right package being put together to get him, but I could easily see him staying put. I went Segura as more likely because I 100% think he will be traded this offseason while I can't say the same for Lucroy. Outside of them there aren't really obvious candidates. Trading a cheap controllable reliever doesn't make a ton of sense and I don't see a Peralta trade. Nor do I see trading Davis/Braun. All are more than possible though in a total rebuild.
  2. The Gallardo trade is a great example of why this trade isn't any worse or better right now. The Gallardo trade we took the known commodity and he ended up being a total flop. We could have done something very similar with DJ Peterson and have the same dang outcome.
  3. I think what a lot of people don't like is that Stearns is not doing the typical run of the mill stuff a GM would do in these situations. To be honest I am OK with scratching my head because hopefully that means Stearns is trying to get ahead of times and not planning to win in the future with the current model. Too many teams are getting stuck trying to win by the ways of yesteryear.
  4. I think Freddy Peralta is considered the best of the three to be honest followed by Herrera then Missaki.
  5. On the bright side we just indirectly traded Marco Estrada for three young pitchers. Job well done at the end of the day.
  6. Sure, we don't know how things will turn out, but one has to wonder if Stearns was trying to be too clever. ^^This^^ GMs in football have been fired over good draft picks... because they take a guy in the first or second round, because they know hes first or second round quality, and thats great, but not when you could have gotten him in the 4th or 5th round. now in the 4th and 5th round there is no more 1st and 2nd round talent to take, because you sacrificed the value of the other picks already. They call it 'smartest guy in the room' syndrome. this move really feels like that. That doesn't make sense. In the draft you get another shot at that player. This is a trade...Lind was the only way to get those three players so if we thought they were good we had to do it now.
  7. We just got three solid potential pitchers. Some of which could be nice relievers or solid rotation pieces. Things that are incredibly expensive to get these days. Maybe Stearns preferred three guys with solid ceilings instead a DJ Peterson who was garbage at AA and had the ceiling of maybe an average first baseman and maaaaaaybe something a little more than that. So by dipping into the low minors we got three lottery tickets instead of one who is just closer to the majors. These guys aren't on any top prospect lists because they are so young and don't have much experience. That is how the majority of international signings will start out. Four years ago I bet you didn't know who Orlando Arcia was and probably wouldn't have shed one tear if we traded him for an Adam Lind. How about now?
  8. MLB has refused to crack under the pressure of some fans and will not change netting guidelines drastically. They have recommendations, but I don't think they are much different than before. To the end of the dugout on homeplate side and anything within 70 feet. They will try to get information out to fans so they know what is or isn't behind the netting however which is new. Sounds like it will be similar to when you go to buy tickets and it says "blocked view" etc. You can read about it below where they posted a picture of the news release:
  9. I believe they were all international signings. Herrera and Missaki were for sure. Yeah...Missaki is from Brazil(signed for $880,000) and the other two are from the DR.
  10. Look at the date of that article. The fangraphs one posted by someone else is what you should look at.
  11. I will say one thing. All three of these pitchers have incredible SO/W ratios and all have had WHIPs close to 1.00 Wonder if that is something they like. Teenagers showing control and high strikeout numbers. Hard to hate on that. EDIT: They all don't give up many homeruns either...which may have to do with park/league factor, but still they all three very rarely give up the long ball.
  12. Pure stuff...extremely raw. Has a promising arsenal for a LHP.
  13. He did make it to single A ball though. Apparently it 3 pitchers who didn't play above short season ball yet. I don't see where someone said they all never played above short season.
  14. You forgot to trade an MLB player to negate some of the added value.
  15. What I would love: Gohara and Neidert/Moore Shh...let me have this moment to wish. Morgan would be ridiculous. Him and Gohara both have high ceilings, but are very far off. Can't see them giving up two high ceiling guys.
  16. Brewers could target one of the arms they took in the second round this year.
  17. Only interesting thing about it being lower level prospects is the fact DJ Peterson is at AA-AAA so I would assume the guy most talked about won't end up in the deal. Would also write off Diaz most likely.
  18. Lower level prospects coming to the Brewers. So probably not Peterson.
  19. Luis Gohara is the guy I want. Long way off, but he can be a solid middle of the rotation lefty some day. Big workhorse type frame. However I agree looking for a lefty doesn't make too much sense. Go with the best player.
  20. Same ^ I had Zunino and his 30 HRs & 170 Ks in the line up with Gallo's 40 HRs and 170Ks (Lucroy to Rangers deal) Miller Park Bleachers was going to be a great place to be! Can you imagine watching BP? WOW, that would be ridiculous.
  21. It says something, but maybe they were viewing Zunino as a back up now and maybe a starter in the future if they can't/don't extend Lucroy. I am not sure how much it meant to the immediate future. For instance I don't think if they got Zunino they were going to say, "Alright we gotta go trade Lucroy." Maybe it is a sign they don't want Lucroy long term...but I don't know if I would really call that news or surprising.
  22. This thread has somehow evolved into looking for a long term guy or a possibly a Rule 5 pick and I would like to throw this out there: David Stearns specifically said he is looking for a short term answer in CF...SHORT TERM. So basically an older veteran who is average for a couple million, someone trying to rebuild value on a one or two year deal, or trade for a guy with extremely low value to hold down fort. Phillips is the future CF of this team and he will have that job at some point in 2017. They are not going to get a player to block him.
  23. I am more disappointed in Zunino not being in the deal because I was hoping that was a sign of where Lucroy's future was headed. Oh well back to dreaming.
