  1. Michael Boutn would be a huge money pit with no upside. Even at the peak of his career his offense was average at best. Most of his value was in base stealing and defense...two things he no longer possess. No upside...and not even close to $5mil upside.
  2. Can't forget Carlos Gomez running up Tal's hill and catching that ball over his head while falling to the ground. Most ridiculous and best defensive moment I have ever seen. Too many good memories in Houston.
  3. Khris Davis could help his value immensely. Offense has been dry at recent deadlines and a big first half could put us in line to reap big benefits off a cheap and controlled power bat. Now whether Khris Davis can do that who knows. Some have said he is a slow starter, but every year can be different. Khris Davis should be on the market now too just like any other Brewer, but as some have said the interest right now may not be there. Unless you are looking for costless option FA is still loaded. More likely he is traded midseason.
  4. But does it best Prince Fielder's popcorn bucket shot? Which oddly was also at Houston if I remember right.
  5. Ryan Braun's HR in the division clincher back in 2011. It wasn't the biggest moment, but it was just the fact that we were trying to clinch the division. Something decades in the making and the goal all year long. Ryan Braun came up after that sick catch and throw for the double play and it sealed an epic regular season. It felt like every clutch moment that season Braun came through, everyone expected a HR, and he delivered it.
  6. Here is info on Bernies slide: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ticketing/bernies_slide.jsp Only problem is tailgating would not be an option then because you can't be intoxicated during the experience. It does say there is a tour, but likely basic and definitely not going to press box, dugout, locker room etc. so probably a lame tour. Also an 8 person limit assuming no one else signed up for that day.
  7. Who do you guys want to vote? Is there really a good option? I guess you could do living HOFers to do it. How often do they actually watch baseball though? You could do current coaches, but I see bias there. I just don't see the better option here.
  8. It is an interesting thought. He sounds like he has potential to be a mid rotation guy if it all comes together. Not sure the Brewers would invest $30mil or so in the guy.
  9. 5. Voting: Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. The HOF is not intended to just be about a players stats or skill. There are many other considerations. Why people seem to ignore this is beyond me. Their rules and they aren't on some kind of high horse. Are their cheaters in the HOF we don't know about? Probably, but life isn't fair. The HOF has made it pretty clear they won't be putting any bad apples on pedestals knowingly. Personally I don't see anything wrong with their rules and their decision to ignore some players(Bonds/Clemens).
  10. A .500 team, is that you Attanasio? Maybe wishful thinking prior to the season if old players played like they were young and every young players played to their potential. That team was horrible and played like a 90+ loss team.
  11. Could be a move just to fill minor league roster with no real intention to put value into him. But honestly if lots of injuries happen he wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We have fielded worse players for short stints.
  12. Slight typo as I meant if Lucroy is being considered much like his 2014 self I can't imagine his value really rising at this point. There was a report(who knows how legit) that said a few high up execs said Lucroy was a favorite bounce back candidate. So that tells me a lot of people think they are trading for something closer to the 2014 version and not the 2015 version.
  13. Maybe when he said it he was referring to the Dew Deck? That was more like Fielder territory.
  14. The "Prince Fielder hit 50 Bombs Deck"? You could take out the bullpens and move the fences way back, rebuilding the bleachers for new bullpens. It would cost a lot of money. Not too many teams have won the World Series in hitters parks in the last 20 years. The only ones I can think of are the Phillies, Red Sox & Yankees, all of whom have huge money for pitching. Removing the bullpens won't do much. You would be stuck with a strange configuration especially in RF unless you knock out some of the field level seats. Moving the bullpens would be a massive undertaking costing millions. You could raise the walls, but in RF that would take out the entire field level there and in LF you will axe another Miller Park attraction along with the patio in RF. Sure you could do all of this, but is that really worth the price tag? All of that work would cost $50mil? $100mil? More? It really doesn't seem that feasible. More like a pipe dream with no clear gain, but a lot of guaranteed negatives.
  15. There is nowhere to move the fences back. Only place you could maybe do it is if you chopped off that party area in RF, but that is about it. That would also mean losing a lot of money a year for a questionable gain.
  16. I think the bigger factor was the storm just tracking south. We were suppose to get a nice chunk up by Eau Claire and that didn't seem to happen. Seems like the higher amounts ended up by La Crosse/Madison.
  17. Ok guys if I win the $500mil lottery what should I do? Oh wait that is never going to happen either. Honestly .600 is not happening with this team, no way. Even if it did I have all the confidence in the world we aren't that short sighted. I think the obvious answer is wait till the deadline and maybe make some minor moves(2014-like). You aren't going to try and flip guys after two months so you would have to wait till the deadline regardless. Since teams really aren't looking to commit so early on. Taking advantage of a players hot streak is a thought, but if we were pushing end of July and were 20 games over .500 there is no way they start trading away players.
  18. Football games are shorter, more fast paced, one game a week, 16 vs. 162 game schedule, much easier to follow, draft picks are immediately on the team, no small/big markets so all teams are built similar, no prospects, need to trade big time players not needed. You don't have to commit the time or thought to watch football. You can just turn it on one day a week and be good. Easy to do that.
  19. A lot of it is how big of a deal the leagues make of it. MLB is very strict and makes a big deal. NFL doesn't really put that much pressure on it and their suspensions are kind of lame. Not to mention the NFL is suppose to be just giant people destroying eachother where MLB is more finesse like and not all about that. Records/Stats are also a big difference between the two. Didn't Peyton Manning just break a major record and no one really cares. It just another footnote about the game. Now if A-Rod keeps mashing HRs and goes to break the record there will be a ton of coverage. Ticket prices will skyrockets. Million of cameras flashing...big deal for the sport. Honestly it comes down to MLB being more old school. I always say football is a sport for idiots to watch. It is simple and you don't really have to pay attention outside of the 60minutes during the game. People just want to watch football they don't care if some guy is juicing.
  20. The more scouting reports on Hader not calling him some future ace the better. Too much talk about people thinking he is going to save the franchise and be the ace we have not had in years. Looks like it could be a solid site some day.
  21. Maybe he should too? How can you tell people to "just let him play baseball" when he feels he needs a documentary on it? Think Denson found out this is his only chance to be under the spotlight.
  22. Mike Leake is a solid pitcher and is entering his 28 year old season. That is going to cost some money.
  23. We would really have to start trading some talent to lose 100. Lucroy,Braun, and Nelson/Peralta. And for future seasons we should be adding some pretty good talent in Houser/Hader/Lopez/Arcia/Phillips I have a hard time seeing them lose enough either. I'd expect us to stay 95 or under. While we are worse than last year I also am going to predict we don't have a historically bad start...which is worth 5+ wins in itself. So I would be surprised to finish with 94 wins or close to it. But I agree why does it even matter that much. Some of you are overly concerned with that top pick.
  24. I am really confused why this guarantees Davis gone. These seem like pick ups for long shots at the opening day roster Maybe some spring training competition.
