  1. Actually it makes a lot of sense. Lefty on the mound it is more likely to keep him confident and keep his swing nice. A day off might just keep him going.
  2. I have to say I find it kind of annoying when someone like Lucroy starts going around insulting this and that when he has been pretty bad all year long. Between his lazy defense and not so great offense he has no room to talk. I think he should be more worried about doing his job before complaining about bad drafting etc. He may totally be right but it isn't his job to go around worrying about it. All I learned from that interview is that Lucroy isnt a leader. He is a follower who prefers to complain when things are going bad than step up and be the guy.
  3. 1. Orlando Arcia -One of the elite prospects at SS. Has the chance to be very good for a long time. 2. Kodi Medeiros -High potential and he has held his own this year. I like his odds. 3. Tyrone Taylor -A bit dissapointing so far, but I like him as a future CFer. I am rating him higher not on potential, but for the fact he has a better track record than most. 4. Gilbert Lara -We heard this kid had a lot of potential and he has responded by hitting the ground running. I love the lack of strikeouts so far. The power will come. 5. Jake Gatewood -So he has started the year a tad slow, but since being demoted to Helena 11/17 hits have gone for extra bases. It may take time, but I believe he will get there. 6. Trent Clark -Top 10 prospect in the draft. He is really talented and so many down years across the system allows the top pick to slip in high on my ranking. 7. Clint Coulter -He has the plate discipline and power to hopefully stick at the corner OF position. 8. Monte Harrison -Wow is there a gigantic hole in his swing and his confidence has been put into question. Super athletic and has all the potential. May be a while before we see what he really is. 9. Jorge Lopez -Really like this kid. I think he can be a solid arm 10. Demi Orimoloye -My favorite pick of the entire draft. One scout said it was like watching Bo Jackson again...need I say more? Big project...but some serious potential here. 11. Devin Williams 12. Jorge Lopez 13. Nathan Kirby 14. Victor Roache 15. Cody Ponce 16. Wei Chung Wang 17. Taylor Jungmann 18. Michael Reed 19. Jorge Ortega 20. Corey Knebel 21. Brandon Diaz 22. Yadiel Rivera 23. Chris McFarland 24. Dustin DeMuth 25. Marcos Diplan Just Missed: 1. Carlos Leal 2. Cy Sneed 3. Nick Ramirez 4. Damien Magnifico 5. David Goforth I decided to suck it up and put Jungmann in my rankings to ride the same boat as the rest. I wanted to jump on the Leal boat, but decided not to. I don't see him as anything much more than a back up with his bat and I honestly know nothing about his defense. Needs to have quality defense to be a back up. Would like to get more of a read on his offense too.
  4. Are we going to exclude any newcomers from possible trades before July 20? I'd say include them, but then I thought of people making their list and not coming back to update it. It could create a slight mess. Just leave those newcomers for the pre season list for 2016?
  5. I would second this. But I personally will be leaving him of my Top 25 because he will graduate indefinitely very soon. So maybe that will knock him down a bit. I feel like if we are going to include Wang we should be able to exclude Jungmann.
  6. Orlando Arcia is not going to be in the MLB this year(in my opinion) and I would be surprised if he is called up before September next year. Why rush, what is now considered an elite prospect, to the MLB when our team is garbage? He is 20 years old and there isn't much reason to push him. On another note I would be shocked if he is rated this high on the annual Top 100 lists...but still he is finally getting the credit he deserves. He has the hitting ability, plate discipline, and defense to be an amazing SS for a long time.
  7. I see no reason to even consider such a move. Does not seem like starter material to me.
  8. It's ok Lucroy we don't want you to retire here. Actually the faster you are traded is the better. The Brewers don't want to sign him to an extension. It's only a matter of time before he is traded. Whether that is this year or next it is coming.
  9. Words can't describe how dumb Sedar is. What a joke.
  10. Pretty sure his anger/temper is 99.999999% for the camera. The rest is because of the complete idiots he has to deal with.
  11. Lohse should be released once Peralta comes back. He is worthless and only hurting the Brewers at this point. No excuse for him to be here once the rotation is healthy.
  12. Was the Stanton replacement announced also? Or is that still to come? All of those reserves were comparable to Braun. Can't blame those picks...though I have a hunch Braun's past kept him out.
  13. Good we never have to hear it again because even if a mentally handicapped GM wanted to offer him a QO they couldn't. You can't offer a QO to someone traded midseason. Actually you can offer a QO to any player. The rules only state if there is compensation or not. And there is no point to offer a QO if you can't get compensation. At least I can't think of one.
  14. Good we never have to hear it again because even if a mentally handicapped GM wanted to offer him a QO they couldn't. You can't offer a QO to someone traded midseason.
  15. This whole conversation is a bit premature. Wily Peralta just threw his first bullpen session. He still isn't expected to start a rehab assignment and even when that does happen he will need multiple starts. We are still looking at a good 15+days if everything goes right. Any set backs and this whole conversation may be pretty pointless. I would not be surprised if they let him take some extra rehab starts to hold things off either. Then again I thought they they would do that with Khris Davis, but they got him back quite quickly.
  16. His defense outside of his arm is average at best. Those oh so meaningful gold glove awards must be blinding you. Yesterday he got burned horribly on a fly ball. Ran in 10 feet before he realized it was going to the warning track. Anyone who thinks his defense is more than average is kidding themselves. He isn't worth that much and he isn't going to keep up his current pace. His .350 BAPIP is going to crash back down to earth real quick. Holding on to him and giving him a QO assures us to have an overpriced corner outfielder for a good $14mil. You guys are losing your minds over a good week or two. I don't think average players are worth $30mil commitments.
  17. Just off the top of my head: Shelby Miller for Jason Heyward (MLB not AAA, but close enough) Jacob Turner for Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez Trevor Bauer for Didi Gregorious Tyler Skaggs for Mark Trumbo And I am going to mention it now: While none of those guys on the left side are as complete as Syndergaard the players on the right are no where near Lucroy.
  18. Gerardo Parra's defense has really nose dived the past 3 years. He hasn't even been average at the corner positions so no way he is moved to center full time. Why exactly would we extend an average hitter with declining defense for 3-4 years? You would be fired for giving him 3 years let alone 30mil. He isn't that good and riding an unsustainable hot streak.
  19. Pitching is also ending up easier to find. It is more abundant at the moment. With pitching being "king" the real challenge is finding the elite hitters to counter that.
  20. All Star break would be a good guess. Should be interesting what they do. Problem isn't his value, it is the fact a market hasn't taken shape yet. Last night's radio broadcast said Davis would be activated Monday or Tuesday. My bad I was regarding when I thought Gerardo Parra would be moved. All Star break is possible or I could see Parra facing RHPs and Davis LHPs until Parra gets traded. Then at least Parra gets the majority of at bats.
  21. What I am getting is that through 2012 what Melvin did was acceptable. The following three years with no clear direction not so much. That in my opinion is something to blame Attanasio for. He is the guy who insists on competing every year and having late signings(Lohse/Garza/K-Rod). If you want my opinion it is not Melvin who has dug this team into a hole. It is Attanasio who has done that in the last 2 years.
  22. All Star break would be a good guess. Should be interesting what they do. Problem isn't his value, it is the fact a market hasn't taken shape yet.
  23. They had Escobar waiting in the wings. Could have gotten a great return for Hardy after the 2008 season. Couple that with no need to trade 3 top prospects for Greinke who put up a pedestrian 103 ERA+ in 2011 and those 2 moves alone could have really changed the Brewers for the better. No need to overpay for Lohse & Garza when a now 25 year old Odorizzi is out pitching the entire Brewers roster. So we should have traded Prince Fielder to open up a spot for Matt LaPorta?
  24. Would you point out the last all star catcher in his prime to be traded with 2+ years left on his bargain deal? Neither situation happens...but if they did, I think it would be more than fair. I wouldn't do it if I was the Mets, but the value is fair.
