  1. Actually this might be a banner year for HS guys from Wisconsin getting drafted.
  2. After reading his post history, I'd have to say that this dude might be the biggest troll on this site. I'm surprised he wasn't already banned. I guess his comments are so outragous that most people probably ignored him. I suggest we do the same in this case... http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b18/blazer25/troll.gif
  3. I have the bottom line on my computer and so far nothing has popped up...I think this is bunk.
  4. Link? Could be a bad rumor...I Hopehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  5. I predit 3-1 Crew...a tough win and 7 strong innings for Bush. I also think Lee will homer.
  6. It's like the Cubs have 3 pitchers in their lineup with Nefi, Blanco and Maddux. Just get 1 run and we win!
  7. Good to know...as of an hour or so ago it showed him as doubtful.
  8. Cal, I absolutley agree with everything you said. If you look at my post HERE you'll see that I like Stubbs enough to include him in my Top 10...I just don't think power will be part of his game as a pro.
  9. Per USA Today Weeks is doubtful for the game with "rest" as the reason. I think we'll see: Gross Hardy Jenks Lee Fielder Hall Koskie Miller Bush
  10. Nope...no way no how. Alex Gordon has plus power, and did coming out of College. Adam Dunn has plus power as well. I'd say Stubbs has average power, combine that with the fact that he swings at everything and you've got a guy who won't hit 25 HR's consistently. He might be considered to have plus raw power but for college JR's, game power is more important than how far he can hit the ball in BP. College juniors are generally done filling out and getting stronger. What you see is what you get. Stubbs is not going to magically become Adam Dunn (without the help of Balco) Stubbs has a Shawn Green type frame and build (he just has a lot better tools) Don't get me wrong, I like Stubbs a lot. I just don't expect him to hit with a lot of power (consistently) in the bigs.
  11. Did Sheets walk anyone today? I know he hadn't comming into the game.
  12. I don't think Stubbs will ever hit 25 HR's in the big leagues... Offensively I think he's better compared to a guy like Scotty Po but his all around game is closer to Hunter. Cameron has above average power for a CF, I don't think Stubbs will even have average power.
  13. CJ, Hunter is a good comparison to Stubbs...
  14. Probably not something that should be commented on in an open forum as far as specifics go. Lets just say that there are some concerns.
  15. CJ, I completely agree. Anderson is the best "pitcher" in the draft, he's probably advanced enough that you could start him at high A and he'd be successfull.
  16. Ihave been letting this topic marinate for a while but I thought I'd throw in my ideas for the first 10 guys. Not the order they'll be drafted in but in the order that I like them: 1. Andrew Miller LHP UNC Power lefty that has shown he can move up in levels. Has dominant stuff at times. 2. Brett Anderson LHP HS (OK) The best overall pitcher in the HS class. Polished beyond his years. Tougher than many give him credit for. His stuff, command and makeup play at any level. 3. Dellin Betances RHP HS (NY) Giant framed RHP (6-10) with surprisingly good mechanics for his age and size. Consistently repeats his delivery. Has been a mid to high 90's guy. Splitter is near average pitch. Unlimited potential. 4. Matt LaPorta 1B UFla Best power bat at the college level. A somewhat limited athlete, but in a draft short on bats, he stands out. 5. Joba Chamberlain RHP UNebraska A consistent college pitcher for a top 25 program. Has gained some velocity this season and has shown 3 average or near average pitches. Bulldog competitor. 6. Colton Willems RHP HS (FL) Tall projectable HS pitcher with good present stuff. Silky smooth delievry and a very live FB to go with 2 near average secondary pitches. He doesn't get the hype that Latos and other get but is every bit the prospect. 7. Drew Stubbs OF UTx Best all-around tools in the draft. Might not hit well enough to be an impact MLB player but the rest of his game will play. 8. Chris Parmalee 1B/OF HS (CA) Best bat in the HS class. A true pure hitter with average to above average power. Sort of a man with out a position but he hit all of the top pitching all summer and hit it with authority. 9. Kyle Drabek RHP HS (TX) Would be higher based on pure stuff. Possibly the best raw arm in the whole draft. A FB that reaches high 90's and a dominating breaking ball. Arm action and makeup may scare some teams. 10. Devin Shepherd OF/1B HS (CA) Sort of a wild card here and a favorite of mine. MVP of the AFLAC game, Devin is a true power player in every sense of the word. Plus raw power, a plus OF arm and near average speed. Profiles similar to Carlos Lee or Bobby Bonilla. Looks like a MLB player right now (body wise). He needs to show more consistency with the bat and show less swing and miss. If he performs like he did this summer could move to the very top of the draft. Is a great kid as well.
  17. Wow. Ryan Freel wears out the Brewers. I thought he always did well against us, but I had no idea it was that well. Especially against Sheeter. Well...here's to reversing some trends tonight. Edit: Although I did see it was only 3 AB's. Oops.
  18. I've seen Kershaw and I like him. I don't know if I like him 1st round or not though. By what I saw as an arm he'd be a sandwich-3rd round type guy. He actually was more impressive with the bat this summer when I saw him than as a pitcher. He is a definite 2-way guy in college. The kid has some raw power. Just goes to show you how wide open this year's draft is. You could ask 10 different GM's their top 10's and I'd bet you'd get at least 9 different answers.
  19. Buck up Jamie... I make sure and bring some folks for the May event. Saturday nights are good for Brewers games...and beer...and Chineese-American sports bars!
  20. Any Updates? How'd this event go? Was there a good turnout? The fact that it was Good Friday prevented me from going. I will absolutely be at the next one.
  21. Patrick, A nice read...Ryan's a great kid (although I wish he would have given a shout out to his former travel teamhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) I expect big things from him next year.
  22. stupid little troll leadoff 3b...aaaaarg!
  23. Rolen...boot...finally...he's been killing us all series.
  24. The problem with Barfield the younger is, although he can hit, he is kind of a big non-athlete type kid. The only possible place for him would be 1B and I don't know if he'd be able to get it done over there. He might just have to hope he gets drafted by a NL team as a pitcher and be the best hitting pitcher to come out of TX http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  25. I think it has been the above all along.
