  1. I am in need of some new reading material, and I was at Barnes and Noble the other day. I came across some Star Wars books, but upon looking at the back of the books, I barely recognized any of the characters. Then I realized there were like four or five different series. Does anyone know if there is a series that takes place either immediately after the end of The Return of the Jedi and what series that would be? Or if there is a series that takes place immediately after the Revenge of the Sith and what series that is? If so, do you know which book is the first in the series?
  2. I'd really like to see a hard throwing college starter available though that may be a pipe dream that late in the first round. I can see them taking a high ceiling high school outfielder. I agree about the whole best available player idea, as it has worked out very well for us so far with guys like Laporta and Fielder. But the positions I'd like to see us take, in order, are 1) 3B 2) CF-a potential leadoff type speedster like Krynzel or Brantley. 3) SP 4) 1B
  3. That is one large shark!
  4. Jeffress has a chance to be a very good pitcher. But as long as he's walking this many, it can't happen. I would really hate to see his potential go down the drain because he can't throw strikes.
  5. 5 more walks tonight in like 1.2 innings. I believe he has more walks than innings pitched, which is never good. His K rate is still up, but that seems to be about his only good stat. Does anyone know what his deal is or why he can't throw strikes? Is he working on some new pitches that he can't control yet? I know his control has never been pin point, but it seemed like up until this year it was improving and now he's taken a big step backward.
  6. If we don't have to add him to the 40 man roster I say why not. Nick Green and Chase Wright don't seem to be cutting it so far.
  7. Rob Wooten had another save tonight, which brings him up to 11. Just looking at his stats, he appears to be dominating A+ batters. I'd like to see him moved up sooner rather than later. He's a little bit older, so I'd love to see how he fairs against more advanced hitters. If he had success the rest of the year in Huntsville, he could start next year at AAA and maybe be ready for Milwaukee by 2011. I'd also like to see Roque Mercedes take over closing duties at Brevard County. And it looks like Mike Jones had another good start tonight. Thats really good to see.
  8. Is he defense getting any better down in Nashville?
  9. Since there is an entire thread devoted to him, I was wondering how much longer we have Mark Rogers under our control. He's still got a long way to go, but I'd love to see him make it to Milwaukee. Mike Jones too. Do I remember correctly that Jones signed a minor league deal this year. Does that mean we'd have to keep re-signing him each year we want him?
  10. I'd like to see some of the A+ pitchers moving up. Anundson, Braddock, and Jones especially. I think Wooten and Mercedes should move up too. Hopefully Rogers will have progressed to the point where he can pitch more than 2 innings at a time to replace one of them. It seems like most of our best chances for decent pitching prospects are going to be coming out of this A+ squad. Jeffress remains a work in progress.
  11. I have two tickets to tomorrows game and I just found out I can't go. I paid $14 each for them and will sell them for the same OR best offer. They are in section 416 row 17 seats 14 and 15. Email me at paul253@yahoo.com if you're interested.
  12. If he continues to stay healthy, I'd really love to see Mike Jones moved back up to Huntsville. His numbers are really good so far, and as long as he continues to keep those walks down I think he'll be fine. Its time to see what he can do and whether to continue to give him chances. I'd really love to see him make it to Milwaukee, but he needs to move up to see if he can handle it.
  13. The only thing I can think of is that I just had a bathroom built so obviously there was some plumbing and what not that went along with it. It was completed for about 3 days before the problem came about. Its nothing too serious...I've been killing 3-4 a day, although so far none today. Because it only started 4 days ago it's probably a single colony, in which case isolation will kill them off because they won't breed with their direct relatives Do you know how many flies are usually in a colony? I've killed about 20 so far. I appreciate all the feed back. Maybe I'll hang a fly strip in the basement and one on the main level to see which one collects more. I don't go to the basement much and all the ones I've killed except 2 were on the main level.
  14. Starting exactly 4 days ago, houseflies have been flying all over my house. I've musta killed 15 of them, including 5 today. They are big ole flies too. I have no idea where they are coming from. I was thinking of calling an exterminator, but I'm not sure if he'll just spray blindly or if he'll actually be able to find where they are coming from. It doesn't do a whole lot of good to spray if they are getting in from the outside. Does anyone have any ideas? Do exterminators actually try to find the origin of the problem? If not, who would be the best person to call?
  15. You could also try Greenfield. Its still not that far from work, and I believe they have some nice apartment complexes.
  16. I've read that college starters and prep catchers are the strength of the class. Any chance a solid college starter falls to us?
  17. Tosa is a nice neighborhood so I would consider that. Otherwise West Allis is close by and it isn't terrible. It's probably a little cheaper than Tosa.
  18. Where is your job and what is your price range for rent?
  19. Apparently they mentioned it on the air during a game, and got a lot of positive responses, but nothing more.
  20. A few years I came up with an idea that I mailed into the Brewers TV announcers about the possibility of the Brewers holding a prospect all star game, consisting of only their prospects, in Milwaukee. When I came up with the idea, players like Weeks, Hardy, Hart, Fielder, Dave Krynzel, and Manny Parra were our top prospects. I thought it would be cool to see them all on the same field together as sort of a glimpse into the future. Since I don't have to work today and the weather is crappy, I thought I would take the time to come up with some rosters for this years version. I don't think a 9 inning game would be necessary, maybe just 6 or 7 innings so we don't have to worry about getting as many pitchers in there. I'd love to hear some other ideas for rosters Team Blue Outfield (4) Lorenzo Cain Caleb Gindl Logan Schaffer Lee Haydel Infield (5) Brent Brewer Matt Gamel Eric Farris Steffan Wilson Zelous Wheeler Catcher (2) Angel Salome Vinny Rottino Pitchers (10) Cody Scarpetta Zach Braddock Jake Odorizza Chris Cody Mike Jones Alex Periard Bobby Bramhall Wily Peralta Evan Frederickson Roque Mercedes Team White Outfiled (4) Cutter Dykstra Cole Gillespie Erik Komatsu Hernan Irrabarren Infield (5) Alcides Escobar Taylor Green Brett Lawrie Chris Errecart Yohannis Perez Catcher (2) Jonathon Lucroy Shawn Zarraga Pitchers (10) Jeremy Jeffress Evan Anundson Seth Lintz Joshusa Butler Mark Rogers Tim Dillard Donovan Hand Rob Wooten Cody Adams Blake Billings Obviously injuries, the draft, and callups would affect the rosters. I know personally I'd love to see a game like this at Miller Park. Anyone have any ideas? Edit: Apprarently the way I posted the 2nd team orginally didn't work
  21. He can't throw very well because of arm surgery, so he's limited to left field. We are talking about next year though aren't we?
  22. I'd rather keep Braun in left. He is still learning defensively and I would rather not see him switch positions. Gillespie can play right. As an aside, any chance that Caleb Gindl gets called up to Huntsville to replace Cain, either now or in a few weeks? He is tearing the cover off of the ball in Brevard County.
  23. I just read this on JSonline. What a terrible loss. I was really hoping for a productive season that could have thrown him in the mix as the opening day center fielder next year. But if he misses the entire season, he'll probably have to start back in Huntsville.
  24. I just can't see him coming up as a third basemen. He had two more errors last night, making it 7 in 15 games. You can't have an infielder making an error every other game. Its too bad, because thats the one of maybe only 2 spots (catcher) that we could really use an upgrade at offensively.
  25. Definitely Kopp's is number one. Sobleman's is good, as is Culver's. Riverbrook in Shorewood used to have some real good one, but they closed down a year or two ago.
