  1. still available....i'm willing to negotiate a price if someone's interested. A new system costs $120 at best buy, and I am throwing in a bunch of games and a wireless controller on top of that....
  2. I might be interested in 1 or 2 of them....can you send me a message and let me know whats available?
  3. This is the price we pay for winning If this is the price increase for being 4 games over .500 for the first time in almost two decades, I shudder to think what will happen if they actually win something.
  4. How much do you pay to park at a Bucks game? It has to be between $15 - $25 right? How about Marquette? I know I've seen The Rave parking lot charging $25. I paid $20 to park for a Wave game once. I do believe those are all still Milwaukee - are they not All of those places are in downtown Milwaukee where parking is in high demand, and none of those places have hundreds of acres of land given to them to provide parking. Also, if you paid $20 to park at a Wave game, I'm guessing there was either another special event going on down there at the same time, or you were really really desperate. If you look at it as a regular subsidy, then you have to admit it is far and away the largest subsidy in the history of the state. I'm sorry, I just don't consider the Brewers a business the same way I would consider Miller Brewing or Harley Davidson a business.
  5. I recently moved and I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or something where you can go to see where you need to go to vote.
  6. Gee, charging more for something in high demand. How dare they? Thanks for the meaningful addition to the thread. I'll continue to play devil's advocate. This isn't a regular old business we are talking about. Like I said....they were given a stadium at a location of their choice, basically for free, despite the fact that they had a completely terrible team for over a decade. They still haven't fielded much of a team...despite the fact that things are looking up, the best they've done is 15 years, 5 of which were in a brand new state of the art stadium, is what...4 games over .500? Don't get me wrong, I was all for the stadium tax because I want MLB in the city, but again, this isn't a business we're talking about. The goal of a business is to maximize profits and expand, the goal of a sports franchise is, or should be, to win. If you tell me raising parking prices $2 every year is really going to help them win 15 more games, then I'd be all for it. But when they've been given everything by the city, county, and state, it's not right to raise prices just because you can.
  7. The Brewers aren't forcing anyone to go to Opening Day. There's a high demand for everything, including parking on Opening Day and usually sold out weekend nights. Why wouldn't they charge more if they know people will be willing to pay for it? They aren't forcing you to go to opening day, no, but they are basically saying if you want to go you have to buy tickets to 8 more games. Like I said, for a team that got a tax increase to build a stadium, and a team that has had one winning year in the last 15, they are really taking advantage of the fans. They raise prices for cubs games, they've raised tickets prices, and parking prices, pretty much every year. I don't know, you'd think for one year they could take it easy on price increases.
  8. Definately Rocky 4. That match from Rounds 3 to 14 with the instramental in back. I don't ever watch the beginning of that movie anymore, I start it at the training scenes. What a great movie.
  9. I am getting a little tired of the way they keep messing with opening day. Tickets are next to impossible to come by, and thats intentional so they can sell their 9 and 20 game packs. Now they are almost doubling parking prices for that one game....give me a break. This is a team thats had one winning season in the last 15 years, and they are acting like they're the Yankees or Red Sox. They are taking advantage of their fans to suck more money out of us.
  10. I think most schools, high schools at least, do have security. Obviously its not enough, but will it ever be enough? The Police Dept is short enough as it is, there's no way they can go into every school. Interesting enough though, one of the schools they actually are in is Bradley Tech
  11. I thought they were coming out with a tv show that was set sometime between episodes 3 and 4. Anyone know what I am talking about?
  12. I don't think we have the ammo to make a big trade anymore. We're not going to trade anyone on the current roster, and other than LaPorta, none of our prospects are really a can't miss type player. I don't think Capuano or Bush plus Gillespie Cain or Salome is going to net us anyone that will put us over the top.
  13. I'd be willing to guess that if movies have bad endings somebody would sue them.
  14. I'd rather see Villanueva starting in AAA than pitching out of the pen. The only spot for him would be as a long reliever, which would be a waste. I'd like the rotation to be Sheets, Gallardo, Suppan, Villanueva, Capuano with Bush in the pen, Parra in AAA, and Vargas nowhere near the roster.
  15. I've got a ps2 that i'd like to sell. I am not looking to make some big profit on it but I am not sure what a fair price is. I've got 6 games, including GTA vice city, the godfather, ncaa 07, mlb 07 the show, blackhawk down, and star wars battlefront 2. ive got 3 controllers, including one wireless. I'm asking for $100 for all of it, or a fair offer. I dont really want to mail it, so if you could meet me someone in or around milwaukee that'd be ideal. If you're interested, send me an email at paul253@yahoo.com. just title it like ps2 or something so i know its not spam. thanks
  16. And how bout the D-Rays with 6 of the top 40, including 3 pitchers. I will be rooting for them the next few years in that division. It would be nice to see a team from the AL east actually be successful with teams they developed, not bought.
  17. he was awfully young for AA though, so we'll see what he does next season.
  18. This is the same gang that a few months ago shot two Milwaukee Police officers. I don't understand why we can't take every associate and put them in jail. Treat them like we treated the mob back in the 90's with that RICO statute which basically makes it illegal for someone to associate with a known criminal. There is no excuse for this gang to continue this in Milwaukee. I think we should ask the Feds for help.
  19. Well, either that, or just quit giving the losers any welfare or support. I guess that makes too much sense, though. But, if we did that, we wouldn't have as much reason to keep raising taxes. I'm pretty sure people don't want lower taxes.
  20. two people were arrested for the murder and just as i predicted, they were both gang bangers. The younger one was on probation for robbery....meaning he robbed someone and didn't go to jail. What makes a 21 and 17 year old shoot someone just because is absolutely beyond me.
  21. Aren't Milwaukee East side and Milwaukee Brady and Farwell the same thing?
  22. What if the parents drop the kid off at school, watch the kid walk into school, only to have the kid ditch school later on while the parent is at work? My guess is if the City were to implement this tactic and arrest and jail the parents that we'd be looking at a lot of orphaned kids in the city of Milwaukee. Its not like I'm suggesting that if your kid misses school you go straight to jail. Like I said, its a municipal ticket, its only if the parent doesn't pay the ticket would it turn into a warrant....eventually. And if I had to I would physically walk my kid into the classroom and sit them down in there chair to make sure they went to school. There certainly could be some lenience for parent's who are trying like that
  23. Ticket the same parents that wont keep their kids in school? Like that will have ANY affect whatsoever. It would so make difference and here's why.....if the parents are actually people who would pay their tickets, then thats about $175 down the drain because their kid didn't go to school. Do you think that the parents would let it happen again after getting fined $175? If they don't pay the ticket, it will turn into a warrant, which will eventually turn into an arrest. Personally, if they are the kind of people who don't pay attention to their kids and don't pay tickets, then they are better off not being on the streets. If it's a single parent who gets arrested, then it will probably force the Bureau of Child Welfare to get involved, which is also a good thing. Basically, two areas of Milwaukee are dangerous. It's not the whole city that's dangerous. It may be only two areas, but it is two really big areas. On the north side, I'd say everywhere from about McKinley St on the south to about Good Hope to the North, and from about Holton on the East to around 60th St on the west is an area I would never buy a house in. There are all sorts of violent street gangs out there that half of us have never even heard of. Anyone ever hear of the Buffum Meinecke Boys? Neither did I till about 2 weeks ago, but they have no problem shooting and robbing people. On the south side, I dont know the area very well, but there are also a lot of Hispanic Street gangs in the area who apparently don't mind trying to murder cops. I'd be willing to say there are more bad areas than good areas, because basically everything in the center part of the city, north and south, is violent.
  24. haha....what is a banking day? But either way, you get my point about kids missing school though right?
  25. thats why i like this board so much, no matter what the question is, someone always knows the answer
