  1. Sounds like the NHL is opting out of sending its players to the Olympics. I am seriously disappointed. Olympic hockey with NHL players is probably the best hockey in the world. And it’s not like you can just wait until next year to see it again. I tried watching the Olympic Hockey last time but just couldn’t into it considering I had never heard of any of the players.
  2. Cincinnati will probably be up to #2 in the AP and Coaches poll. I realize those polls ultimately don’t matter but if they end going going undefeated with a road win over Notre Dame and somehow don’t make it into the playoff it’ll be a real black eye for College Football. In that scenario you have to have at least 2 but likely 3 one loss teams ahead of them. Likely Georgia, the Big Ten Champion, The Big 12 Champion (assuming either Ok or OK St finish with one or no losses, and then another one loss team. I really, really hope Alabama doesn’t win the SEC over Georgia and then both of them get in, but it’s a definite possibility.
  3. My guess is that Alabama plays Texas and Oklahoma about once a decade. They don’t want all their best teams knocking each other off.
  4. I say we make another run at Jeremy Jeffress
  5. I wonder if the Big 10 would consider trying to grab Missouri. They make geographic sense, being in two fairly large tv markets and hold their own in football and basketball. And they meet the AAU requirement. Missouri and Kansas wouldn’t be terrible. I have a feeling Kansas football might improve a bit in the coming years. They just hired Lance Leipold who dominated at Whitewater and helped turn Buffalo around. The schools I really want them make a run at though are Virginia and North Carolina. If UNC won’t go without to Duke then what the heck, grab Duke too. That would be an absolute coup for basketball.
  6. Here we go again. Texas and Oklahoma are goners from the Big 12 and are likely headed to the SEC. That means the Big 12 may cease to exist as there are no longer any big time programs in the conference to help increase tv and other revenue. I can see them trying to add a Houston or a BYU but other schools may bail first. Personally, I’m surprised Texas wants to join the SEC. Most SEC schools are not exactly academic heavyweights like Texas is. And many have made it fairly clear that their number one priority is winning football games. I’m also surprised the Big 10 isn’t making a hard push for Texas. It’d be a huge addition to the Big 10. Plus Texas’ academics are much more on par with Big 10 schools then SEC schools. If they do expand the only realistic possibilities seems like Kansas and Iowa St, which is hardly a game changer. I don’t think Notre Dame will join the Big 10. They are too full of themselves. Maybe they form some of alliance with the Pac12 but who knows what that might look like. Ultimately I think Texas and Oklahoma leaving for the SEC is terrible for college football. There was finally some stability but clearly money is more important that tradition and loyalty.
  7. I would not trade either of them right now. Not a chance. BUT, hypothetically what would the return have to look like if one of them were traded?
  8. I just had to start a thread on this because I just finished the movie on HBO max and it was fantastic. It clearly set up a sequel with a larger storyline and even introduced Martian Manhunter! If only the DC extended universe and whoever is in charge would admit their wrongs and move on from here. Cyborgs story was much clearer, though given what’s going on with Ray Fischer I highly doubt he’d be welcomed back. But a cyborg movie with a new star? Why the hell not? Aquaman and Wonder Woman seem to be doing fine in their spin off movies and there is a Flash movie coming out I believe. Seriously just figure out what the heck they are doing with Batman, bring Henry Cavill back as Superman and make a Justice League sequel based on the Snyder Cut. This release has given WB and opportunity to get this back on track.
  9. Personally I think people are dreaming if they think SD would give up Gore for Hader.
  10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-illinois-ice-hockey-josh-whitman-20200420-3bmr6xzjjrdjfl4gu37bhb4m7e-story.html%3foutputType=amp Found this article from a few months ago. Apparently Illinois was all set to announce a D1 hockey program until the pandemic ruined everything. Hopefully this is just a delay and not a cancellation of the program.
  11. It’s a pity that The Mandalorian wasn’t made before the sequels. It’s only been 2 seasons and already the story line is 100x better than the sequels. Unfortunately in order to stay in canon the Mandalorian is seriously limited in their storyline but the season 2 finale provides a nice glimpse of what the sequel storyline could have (should have) been. Watching the Mandalorian just gets me angry about how crappy the sequel trilogy was.
  12. Why wouldn’t the Brewers want Vaughn? He’s a top 20 overall prospect, former top 5 pick and plays a position the Brewers really need help at. He should advance fairly quickly through the minors. And Crochet is a high ceiling lefty who could top off as a #2. If the Brewers are trading Hader they’d be fools to only look for immediate help in return.
  13. I throw out a deal: Hader to Chicago White Sox for Andrew Vaughn and Garrett Crochet Vaughn immediately becomes your top prospect and will help with the dearth of high impact bats. And Crochet is a top 10 pick with upside. I really liked him and was hoping he’d fall to Milwaukee this past draft.
  14. A couple of names that interest me and might still be available: 1) Garrett Crotchet LHP Tennessee 2) Bryce Jarvis RHP Duke 3) Ed Howard SS HS 4) Pete Crowe-Armstrong OF HS 5) Robert Hassell OF HS The Brewers really need an influx of talent. I hope they don’t get too conservative here.
  15. I like the Runyan pick. He can line up at either guard or tackle.
  16. Haven’t been following this thread so I apologize if this is already been posted but if you’re looking to kill some time you can have some fun with the draft simulator. https://thedraftnetwork.com/mock-draft-machine
  17. Is there a limit to how many undrafted FAs you can sign in that case?
  18. I’ve been reading some articles suggesting that MLB might be considering canceling the entire 2020 draft and international signing period? Is this a legit possibility? If so how would affect the 2021 draft?

  20. I’m sure in the next few months a vaccine will be developed. Once that happens the cases will begin to lower rather quickly.
  21. Mod edit Take it to the political board.
  22. Looks like K’Andre Miller is gone too. I can only assume Caufield will leave too. So much wasted talent this season. On a brighter note, the Badgers are coming back to Milwaukee for a Holiday tournament. I used to go to the Showdown when it was around. Hopefully I can make it to this one too.
  23. I kind of wish I hadn’t read so many of the now “legends” books before Disney bought Lucasfilm. I thought, minus a few stories that were way out there, the general plot was much better than the one Disney put out. I think there is just too much random stuff in the sequel trilogy that should have been explained but wasn’t. First off, did we ever figure out who Snoke was or where he came from? Also, the Knights of Ren? Where did they come from and what was their purpose? Why did Han and Leia separate? I think Luke was completely underutilized. And barely any mention of the New Republic? The whole trilogy feels disjointed, kind of like they were making it up as they went.
