  1. Hey guys I didn't want to start a separate thread on this or go through 20 pages of material to see if this was already address but I just have a quick question regarding autographed cards. What is the best source to figure out how much an autographed card is worth? And is it only worth anything if you have a certificate of authenticity? I have an autographed Ray Allen rookie card that I got when I saw him at a restaurant a number of years ago. Obviously there is no COA but I was curious how much something like that might be worth. Any advice would help.
  2. Regardless of whether or not the Bucks want to pick Wiggins they need to spend the next week doing everything they can to indicate they are going to take him. If Philly wants Wiggins as badly as recent reports indicate then you have to take advantage of it. Even if all you get is a protected first round pick two years from now it's better than nothing considering you get the guy you were going to pick anyway. I am torn between the safe pick / better fit (Parker) and the potential superstar / not as good as a fit pick in Wiggins. (not saying that Parker cannot be a superstar in this league, I just see less of a chance). If Wiggins can handle the 2 I think he'd actually be the better fit. He's better defensively and Parker is a little small to play the 4 from what I hear.
  3. One guy that I am pleasantly surprised about is Arcia. He's not showing much power but given his age and the tough hitting conditions in BC he's definitely holding his own. Plus only 33 K's in 242 at bats. I wish they'd just keep him at SS and let Rivera play 2nd. I think Arcia has a much brighter future than Rivera. Also one thing I've noticed. 1/3 of Hunter Morris' walks have come in the last 7 games. Is this just a fluke or has he actually learned some patience?
  4. Just a couple of things I've been hearing: - The Bucks are pretty set on Parker because he seems more willing to play here than Wiggins (if it comes down to those two). - Wiggins "camp" (whatever that means) really hope he ends up in Philly. - The Bucks are really trying to rid themselves of Larry Sanders And in an unrelated note, 63% of people are opposed to any sort of State money going to a new arena. I have a feeling that unless the arena is financed 100% with private money it will not get built. It's a shame that the people in the area don't recognize how badly the Bucks leaving will make Milwaukee look.
  5. but I wouldn't NOT do it simply because we're short at C next year. They have enough guys there to figure it out and can always sign someone in the Dalembert mold for a year or two if need be as well. I just don't see what other people see in McLemore. Like I said two starters for the #8 pick and McLemore seems like a net loss to me. If it were simply Sanders for the #8 pick, that's something I'd be more willing to take.
  6. You have Henson, Miroslav and Zaza still at the 5. I don't think Henson could hold his own at C over the course of a season. He's a slender 220lbs and would get pushed around too much I think. I know it's hardly scientific but I looked at 10 random NBA teams and I couldn't find anyone who was listed as a Center that was under 230lbs. Most go over 240lbs. As far as Zaza and Miroslav go to me those players are the epitome of "blah". It's like saying we can afford to trade away Lohse because we have Ariel Pena available to start games. The bucks need a shooter and McElmore is that. Yeah but his shooting % says otherwise. He was right around Brandon Jennings territory last year. Again McLemore has plenty of potential and I really, really liked him coming into the draft last year. But he is far from a sure thing and trading away two starters to get him and a draft pick is risky. That being said if this move was made in addition to another one I could see it. I've read that Roy Hibbert might be available as Indiana is going to need to cap room to resign guys like Stephenson and George. If you could swing a deal to get Hibbert that would offset the loss of Sanders.
  7. I'm not sure I like that deal. McLemore has potential but his numbers leave a lot to be desired. Less than 9 ppg. 1 apg. 2.6 rpg. His FG% and 3P% were also worse than Knights. I think in this deal Knight is the best player and Sanders is the second best player (assuming he rebounds from last year). Plus, if Embiid goes #1 and you move Sanders who do you have at the 5? There aren't may options available in the draft after Embiid. And who plays PG? Is Wolters a starting caliber PG? The top PG's in the draft (Smart, Exum) will likely be gone by #8. I just feel like this deal would create more holes than it would fill.
  8. I'd like to see DeMuth get the majority of the time at 3rd and Neuhaus at SS. Hopefully DeMuth, who was a BA first team All-American, doesn't need much time in Helena and can move up to Wisconsin fairly quickly.
  9. I really hope the Bucks find a way to exploit this. There should be no scenario in which they don't take either Embiid or Wiggins at #2, especially with how desperate Philly is to get Wiggins. I want nothing to do with Young, who has the opportunity to leave after this season. But in the past they've been reported to be willing to move PG Michael Carter-Williams. Maybe the #2 and #31 for MCW and #3? Or what about Philly's unprotected first rounder next year? Either way the Bucks have got to leverage Philly's desire to get Wiggins, especially if Cleveland stays put and takes Embiid.
  10. Those uniforms are awesome. I especially like the white ones. I am not a fan of bottom right though.
  11. http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2014/06/2014_nba_draft_sixers_will_do_whatever_it_takes_to_get_andrew_wiggins_according_to_report.html Saw this article. Basically it states that Philly will do whatever it takes to get Wiggins. If Embiid goes #1 overall the Bucks would be foolish not to make a deal with Philly. #2 for #3 and #10. If Philly says no you take Wiggins and be done with it.
  12. If Cravy gets promoted I'd like to see Hobbs Johnson moved up to replace him. As far as Coulter goes I wouldn't mind seeing him stay in Wisconsin the rest of the year. From what I've read he needs a ton of work defensively if he is going to stay at catcher so there is really no rush to move him. Plus, doesn't BC play in a pitcher friendly park? I'd hate to move him up now and have him struggle offensively while he is still working hard to improve his defense. He's still only 20. A year at each level would be fine with me.
  13. I'll admit that I was very, very doubtful of Seid's ability to draft. As much as I was looking forward to this draft I was worried he'd find a way to screw it up again. After the Medeiros pick I was less than satisfied. But to see him get Gatewood and Harrison was quite the pleasant surprise. I honestly think he just drafted three top ten organizational prospects. I like the third basemen from Indiana too. It was a position we desperately needed a prospect at and even if Demuth only profiles as a Taylor Green type player it's still better than what we have now. He drafted more HS guys, especially pitchers, than last year and that was nice to see too. Hopefully he can keep it up in future drafts.
  14. he'll need a LOT of one on one with his catchers with the way he works the plate. it looks like he almost goes diagonal across the plate. I love his delivery. Yeah I can just picture Clint Coulter trying to catch Medeiros.
  15. Oy. 90-91 mph fastball according to MLB Network. I think this was a big time reach. I'm glad they went HS arm but Holmes or Toussaint would have been the better pick. Hopefully this was made with the idea of overspending with their next two picks.
  16. Not impossible either. But the Bucks would need to give up more than just their junk. A Sanders, Henson, or Knight would have to part of a deal I would think. But wow, that would be a fun draft night! If they make a trade with Philly or Orlando it could be done. I've read Philly covets Wiggins. If Embiid goes #1 why not call Philly and say "we're going to take Wiggins. If you want him give us your two lottery picks"? If they don't bite, whatever, you still get Wiggins. If they do you only move down one spot, gain an extra pick and your GM looks like a genius. Personally I hope they keep Knight. He is still young and was the only consistent scorer on last year's team. The back court is weak and trading him would only make it weaker. I'd be fine with moving Sanders or Henson. I don't think Henson is ever going to anything more than a 6th man and Sanders showed last year that he is an immature punk. I would rather they build the team around Giannis, Knight, and whomever they get this year.
  17. I'm really hoping for Holmes but I feel like it's going to be Schwarber or Pentecost.
  18. This is hardly a problem, this is an enormous luxury, especially given the rotations we've had in the past. Ok fine. It's a luxury. But you still have to do something.
  19. I think they should make a public vote out of the new color scheme. Get people interested again. Come up with 5 or 6 different color schemes (green/black, green/white, blue/gold, red/black, etc) and let the fans vote. Personally I think that blue, black, and red are all overused in professional sports and green for some reason is underused so I'd prefer to keep green as the main color. I guess green and white or green and black would be my preference. As far as the camo uni's go. Personally I hate camo too but maybe they could wear the uniforms three or four times during the deer hunt season. It'll get them talked about (though I'm not sure in a good way) and then they could auction off the uni's with the proceeds going to charity.
  20. The Shield had to breakup sooner or later, but the timing of it makes very little sense. One day after they have that brutal match, he suddenly wants to join HHH? Not only that but other than Bryant, the Shield as a whole was probably the most popular thing going in the WWE. I guess if you're going to make it a surprise you do it when nobody is expecting you to but the Shield could have easily kept up their popularity for another few months. Evolution could have just added a third member. On a side not, I wish the WWE would add another faction or two. For some reason they just refuse to build up the tag team ranks or form multiple long-standing factions. I love(d) the Shield and Evolution and like The Wyatt Family but it'd be nice to see more three on three feuds. Plus adding more talent would help prevent things from getting stale. How many times do we need to see Cena fight Bray Wyatt? Or the Justin Rose against Swagger? Or Kane vs Bryan? Remember the good ole days when after the PPV the wrestlers would go their separate ways instead of fighting over and over and over again?
  21. My main point is that there are [plenty of ways the Brewers could open up slots. And I guess my main point is that if they didn't sign Garza not only would they not have to worry about opening up a spot in the rotation but they could have upgraded in other areas, namely first base or the bench. If they Brewers are still in it come July they are going to have to trade away some prospects to upgrade the bench.
  22. Paul, not sure what you're talking about. Anything can, and usually does, happen. If you don't do you due diligence you will be burned. What I mean is that there are some guys who you may like but can't justify taking 12 even though you know they won't be available at 41. In any other sport if the guy is still around at, say, 30, and you really wanted him you get trade to get that #30 pick. Baseball is the only sport you can't do that.
  23. I'm curious about the new color scheme, if they are going to have a minor switch like when they went from green and purple to green and red or if they are going to completely blow it up. I hope they keep green as the main color. One other thing they mentioned was the lack of Bucks apparel stores around the city. That's something I've noticed too. I hope that IF the Bucks get a new arena and IF the whole area is redeveloped like it should be at least one sports apparel shop opens. I walked around Pittsburgh a few years ago and there was sports shop after sports shop after sports shop. Just one sports shop here would be nice. And one with decent prices. No $17 t-shirts.
  24. New owners said they want to be quick with the new arena. They hope to be breaking ground next summer. I don't think they know what they're in for if they expect only a year to get approved. Welcome to Milwaukee politics. You have certain alderman who I'm sure won't agree to any tax money being uses unless additional money for public transit is approved. You have the head of the Wisconsin Center District who won't agree to tear down aging and unnecessary buildings to make room for development because he feels he will lose power with two less buildings to be in charge of. You have a local businessman who won't allow any more desperately needed hotels to be developed because they might take away business from him. And you have taxpayers who think paying a 0.1% tax to get this done is going to bankrupt them. Unless new owners build the thing themselves I'm still of the belief it won't get done.
  25. Nelson has continued to develop, Fiers has bounced back. Pitchers throughout the system are having success at their levels and are being brought along at a relatively slow pace. Right and now because we gave Garza four years someone will have to be moved in order to get Nelson a shot. I think a smarter move would have been to offer Garza a one year deal (maybe $14 million) to buy a year of development for everyone else. Then at the end of this year, depending on well Garza pitched, you could have either offered him a QO or simply let him walk.
