  1. Here are his strikeout rates from the last four seasons: 2014 Louisville: 25.8% 2014 Cape: 34.7% 2015 Louisville: 20.4% 2015 Team USA: 16.0%
  2. Team USA last summer, which looked like this: .355/.423/.548, 9 XBH, 7 BB, 11 K, 10 SB.
  3. That the exact response I received a few years ago when I said the same things about Jed Bradley. I continue to "pretend" to act like I know what I'm talking about, because I do. Rather than being condescending, simply show me a college player who hit like Ray and then became successful. People will tell me those mediocre collegiate results don't matter, just like they said about Bradley. They also said Bradley was a good pick because these same so-called experts who also like Ray said so. Well one of those experts is Ray Montgomery and this pick will be a large "definer" of Ray's picking ability.
  4. Is Ray really eighth on Louisville in OBP at .396? Legit guys with many AB's that much better in OBP than Ray on Louisville?
  5. I called Corey Ray to Brewers. Not sure how I feel about that.
  6. Hope this is right Keith Law 1. Corey Ray, OF Louisville Previous rank: 1 Although Ray could slip out of the top five, I still think he's the best all-around player in the draft class, a power-speed guy who has a good idea of the strike zone and plenty of bat speed, giving him a high floor of an everyday left fielder
  7. Not too enamored with Ray either. Seems to really struggle against lefties.
  8. Guy seems bonafide now. Gotta keep him for third, imo.
  9. Free agency isn't the only way to acquire a top of the line pitcher.
  10. Not sure where to put this, but does anyone know where online I can get the "camoflauge" brewer's hat from yesterday's game?
  11. It seems like Santana is mixed up on what approach at the plate he is comfortable with. He is getting higher OBP with a shortened lead step and more controlled swing this year. However, his power numbers are down. I'm a little back and forth. I don't know if he should go back to his style last year, but you can tell Santana isn't totally comfortable and is having some discomfort with the new mentality, imo.
  12. Lopez has had three outings plus he's got to get used to pitching in Colorado. Not ideal for a pitcher.
  13. Looks like Billy is following the money trail. Seems to me you would have to find the most effective traits correlating to success rather than what you can find for the cheapest.
  14. At least Fiers is getting shelled. Hard to judge any trade right now, plus it seems like we are trying to tank this year with bums like Freeman still on the roster. So no, I don't think long term they were what we wanted. Trade pretty much hinges on Isan Diaz and what he does in 2-3 years when we should be peaking. I like Wagner but him and Anderson will probably be similar in production.
  15. I'm thankful I don't have to watch Carlos Gomez swing out of his shoes every game.
  16. Willie Mays Hayes couldn't hit but he did all right in the bigs. Won a ring I believe.
  17. I believe Ramon Flores will come around and is our best option. He's also hit lefties decent in AAA before (actually did better against lefties in 2014/15 AAA, I believe). I'd give him plenty of ab's before not playing him regularly.
  18. If we hit the baseball a lot and pitch well we should win.
