  1. Brewers with 8 walk off wins, meaning 1/8 of their wins coming in walkoff fashion. Bodes well for the WS clinching win, I can’t wait!
  2. I’d like Nashville just because it’s a fun place to visit and I’d probably do a trip each summer.
  3. Great advice. Three strikes has been his issue since the trade, he might want to avoid those too.
  4. I'm pretty sure I saw him at a truck stop last night buying some Copenhagen and Slim Jims.
  5. Dude walks around like Fred Sanford and then you see him run a ball down in the gap or fly down the line to beat out a routine double play. My mind has a hard time accepting he’s that fast. Not sure the younger people will get the Sanford reference Addition: Or... you know... pull one back in.
  6. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/SLN/SLN201105070.shtml Our closest no-no besides Nieves was Odell Jones, lost after 8.1 IP https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CLE/CLE198805280.shtml I watched the Odell one on TV, he was pretty much hyperventilating on the mound in the 9th.
  7. I’m warming up to it. We’ve seen the likes of Weeks and Villar at 2nd and Yuni, Villar and Sogard at SS, can this be that much worse? Not sure Clancy weighed in yet, this is right up his alley.
  8. LOL crazy story. Who tells that, especially on camera? And I love how he immediately transitions immediately to “who’s pitching?”
  9. I also missed one since he was so far behind the leader, but 1973 George Scott I just looked at that 1987 season and Boggs OPS was .461/.588/1.049 and Molitor’s was .438/.566/1.003 and they finished 9th and 5th respectively in MVP voting. George Bell won the MVP with .352/,605/.957 but had 47 HR, 134 RBI. Boggs had 8.3 WAR, Trammel 8.2, Molitpr 6.0 and Bell was 9th with 5.0. Roger Clemens actually led the AL with 9.4 WAR. I knew Boggs was good but I was really surprised how good he was that year. Same with Trammel.
  10. Holy hell... Not sure why but I literally busted out laughing when I read your post.
  11. Good guess. Here are all of our second place finishers (Brewers only). Can you name the winners? 2011 Braun 1987 Molitor 1982 Yount 1980 Cooper - Winner = George Brett I know Braun lost out to reyes. The other 2 were before my time. I never would have known Reyes. Pretty sure it was Willie Wilson in ‘82 and I’ll say Boggs in ‘87 but that is a complete guess, I have no recollection but I think that was around the time he was good.
  12. I think cooper hit like .351 the year Brett chased .400 and Coop came in 2nd. I honestly can’t remember one. Maybe Molitor in ‘87 with his 37 game hitting streak?
  13. It's tough. I've been watching this team for 30 years. So even though its irrational (different players, era) I always have a nagging doubt in the back of my mind, no matter whether we're first in the NL or last. I don't know if it's just remaining guarded or what, but after so much history of failure its just hard to get rid of that feeling that it's the Brewers and they'll let you down in the end. I would guess some of the less pessemistic posters here are probably some of the younger ones who haven't seen this franchise not only lose alot, but haven't seen some of the second half swoons such as the ones in 2007, 2014 and last season. Us old guys just start to expect it. Hell, even 2008 when we won the wild card we did our best to choke that away until Yost got canned. I’m not sure it’s an age thing, I’m 50 and the past heartaches don’t really affect my emotions for individual games. I’ve long thought that the reason that Brewer fans react they way they do is because Wisconsin has been a Packer state for all of those years the Brewers sucked. In the NFL, every game is important and a big loss can affect a playoff berth or a drop in seed that can cost home games in the playoffs. Then after a tough loss, you have the whole week to stew over it and pick apart every key play or decision. I feel that the “every game is must win” mentality has carried over to the Brewers and caused fans to analyze every pitch, swing and decision like each game is 1/16th of a season rather than 1/162. I’m certainly not going to tell anyone else how to be a fan but what the Brewers are getting their butts handed to them like they are tonight, I turn the channel or find something else to do. I’ll check my phone or switch the game on every once in awhile and if they make it a game, I’ll reengage. If not, I enjoy my afternoon or evening and look forward to watching the next game, hoping they can pull out a win. It works for me. And just like that, the Brewers made it 6-3 and Villar got a hit, so I’ll watch the rest of this inning to see if they can draw closer.
  14. Forget it, he’s rollin’
  15. Peralta settling in a little. This is starting to feel like a game we can come back and win. Edit: spelling
  16. Oh well, can’t win them all. At least the Cubs will lose.
