  1. What would it take? He'd be awesome in the 8th. Bandy or Susac and Cordell?
  2. Reminder, he is a free agent at years end and the Brewers will get a supplemental pick.
  3. We keep hearing Milwaukee doesn't want to rent but if the Brewers do not want to give up a high level prospect Texas may be a partner. Luis Ortiz and Zacj Brown for a half season of Darvish. Who says no?
  4. Ryan Cordell and Jorge Lopez for Addison Reed.
  5. What's the option if Braun is hurt off and on and Broxton is struggling? Thames can not handle the wear and tear in LF. Who subs for Broxton in CF? If Brinson struggles again you can still make a move before the deadline.
  6. With Braun's injuries, Thames poor outfield play and Broxton's streakiness, I think Brinson needs to be recalled and given more of an opportunity. Perez can still be a super sub but the outfield situation needs to improve. If it costs Villar a roster spot so be it.
  7. Start with Hader and Dubon. Not going to happen.
  8. If you trade for Quintana, tack on Robertson. If Gray is the man, tack on Doolittle or Madsen. Let Robertson or Madsen set up Knebel and move Barnes and Drake (for lefties, awesome splits) to the 7th.
  9. The White Sox hang up if Brinson or Ortiz are not in the conversation. Phillips, Ortiz, Ray, Cooper and Ponce for Quintana and Robertson.
  10. Sogard 2B Perez CF Braun LF Shaw 3B Santana RF Thames 1B Piña C Arcia CF Guerra P Try it, thank you!
  11. Hmm.... Looking pretty good tonight!
  12. In house options: 1. Josh Hader- Split Monday's start between he and someone else (Lopez, Blazek). Let Hader go three (50 pitches) and build from there is he is successful. If not, hello bullpen. 2. Michael Blazek- Previous MLB success. Deserving of another look. 3. Aaron Wilkerson- Was hoping Lopez would get optioned and he would get recalled for Monday. The Brewers need to see what he was before September. Wasting away in AA. 4. Jorge Lopez- Looks very hittable. Another pitcher who needs audition before 2018. 5. Brandon Woodruff- My #1 option if he was healthy. 6. Paolo Espino- Just doesn't have it at a MLB. My guess is I will see Espino Monday and Hader will continue to waste away in the pen.
  13. Wilkerson, Woodruff, Lopez and Hader all need a look. Call up Blazek, let Hader throw 45 pitchers and take him out. Keep doing it until he builds arm strength or proves he is a pen pitcher. My guess is we will see Will P. Monday.
  14. Trade Thames for whatever you can get, call up Cooper and bump Broxton to the two spot or lead off. If Broxton can not handle the top of the order, move on in the off season.
  15. Thames is not tier one and Broxton is not tier two. Thames contract will be the worst on the 40 man by September 1st.
  16. So you are saying he is like Bandy except Bandy has options.
  17. So you are saying he is like Bandy except Bandy has options.
  18. Back up catcher who also plays 1B, DFAed by Oakland today. Bandy needs to work on framing and he has options. Piña deserves to catch 5 out of 6 games each week.
  19. Daniel Coulombe, Sean Doolittle or Ryan Madson could all be buy low candidates. How about Michael Reed, Clint Coulter or Kyle Wren and Tyler Cravy (as a player to be named later, he currently is hurt) for any of the three? Neither Reed, Coulter or Wren have a future on the 40 man. I prefer Doolittle because he is not like our other late inning relievers. Doolittle and Drake (I know, but he gets lefties out in the 7th), Barnes in the 8th and Knebel closing it out. Reed or Wren could have a shot in the A's outfield immediately.
  20. Why is Broxton.... playing. I would have liked to see Brinson have more chances. Big decisions to make when Braun and Villar come back; hopefully they get a long rehad to ensure they are healthy.
  21. The Padres may try to catch lightening in a bottle. Why continue to struggle when you have other options?
  22. Peralta, Drake and Espino gone. Wang, Blazek and Wilkerson up. Sending half your pen out would be a very "Guilleness" move.
  23. If Milwaukee sured up their pen with one piece earlier, they could easily have a five game lead. Looking at the Rule 5 for next season, some interesting trade options definitely exist.
  24. The Padres will sell and Brad Hand would be a huge addition to out bull pen. Would a Jorge Lopez or Aaron Wilkerson and Brett Phillips or Ryan Cordell package get it done? Hand is controllable beyond this season.
  25. Just do it, Craig. Make the line up change. Sogard, 2B Broxton, CF Santana, RF Shaw, 3B Thames, 1B Piña, C Brinson, LF Arcia, SS Guerra, P
