  1. Nice AB by Jenks. Time to break this open a little.
  2. I actually like this lineup for the most part as well. I'm feeling a win tonight.
  3. Hall should bat fifth against lefties. Hart should lead off. It would be nice if Capuano didn't walk six guys tonight.
  4. Yikes, I don't know if a non-Brewers fan would see it this way. He was dominant. He hit 102 in the ninth! That's not something he does every start. Despite the horrid lineup, I'd say this was much more Verlander pitching out of his mind than the Brewers sucking.
  5. I don't know. It doesn't seem all that bad to me. I would have been shocked if they won tonight anyways. The fact that it was a no-hitter doesn't make it count more than one loss. Although this is the vent thread so I need to complain about something... I thought Verlander was getting calls way off the plate in the eighth and ninth.
  6. That was awesome, but in the eigth and ninth he was getting strike calls on balls three inches off the plate. Oh well, what can you do.
  7. Jose Hernandez was actually a pretty good hitter. He just happened to strike out a lot.
  8. 99.994% actually.
  9. I would love to add Dunn but I think they'd have to give up a more premium prospect (Inman?) in their package.
  10. Just wondering what others thought, but it looked to me on that Lofton grounder that Graffanino would have had that. I thought Prince did his vintage "stray way too far off the bag" move. If he would have just stayed home and let Graffy field it they'd have gotten the out IMO. Wow, what a horrible way to lose.
  11. I went to check earlier. The exact odds with two out and nobody on in the ninth with a three-run lead were a 99.994% chance of victory (and I'm sure those odds increased even more after Cordero got the guy to an 0-2 count). How disheartening...
  12. The Brewers will send Graffanino, Miller, Counsell and Gwynn to the plate in consecutive order. That is laughable.
  13. Wow, Tejeda has been miserable in his last five starts, except when he shut down Houston. Heh.
  14. Just thought I'd share this. A Gators fan stumbled across my blog and left the following post about LaPorta (linked in my sig). Obviously it's not a totally neutral source, but I found it encouraging nonetheless. "As an avid Gator baseball fan who has watched LaPorta play week in and week out for three years, let me tell you this pick is definitely worth it. Don?t believe all the crap about his defense; it?s continually puzzled me and my fellow Gator fans, as well as most everyone in college baseball?coaches, players, analysts, etc.?that everyone seems so down on his glove. In the college ranks everyone says his defense is very underrated. He?s more athletic than the scouts will have you think. I have no problem believing he?ll transition well to LF. He played a bit his freshman year. His power is just amazing. I?ve never seen a more impressive college hitter. Not only does he have great power, but he hits for average too. He?s greatly improved his plate discipline and pitch selection, shown by the low number of K?s and the high OBP, though that also has something to do with the fact he was intentionally walked 30 times this season. On top of that, he?s a gamer. He plays hurt and he?s a great leader, and just an overall great guy in general. You?re very lucky to have him. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif "
  15. Fair enough. I hadn't seen Lucroy's line; that's some serious slugging.
  16. What makes you say that Peavy? IIRC Cole Gillespie was a junior and a third round pick, and he signed quickly. Is there anything unique about Lucroy, or were you saying that mainly because he's a junior? I would be surprised if the Brewers used a third round pick on a guy they weren't pretty sure would sign.
  17. Three college hitters in the first three picks. Nice. Just to clarify, the fourth round pick (third overall) is Eric Farris, second baseman, Loyola Merrimount University.
  18. Hey, Jordan Zimmerman of UW-Stevens point goes 67th to the Nationals. Good for him!
