  1. Wow. That's Adam Morrison-esque.
  2. Ok thanks. I find it amazing that Butler has the chance to be the ace on four state champion teams in his high school career.
  3. Hey Colby, was Oak Creek by any chance on that list? I doubt it being from Wisconsin, but maybe three straight state championships would get them noticed?
  4. I watched Chamberlain pitch last year against Texas. He is a really big guy, but he was impressive.
  5. Thanks Mass Hass and everyone else for the help with ezsupporter. I got it all worked out.
  6. Well this is kind of a long story, but I have a feeling it is why there is a problem. I tried to pay via credit card and kept getting an error message. I sent Brian a message and he directed me to an ezboard help page. I discovered I was getting the error message because I am a local ezboard user and was trying to use a credit card (why that was a problem, I'm not sure). So chose the paypal option, but I don't have a paypal account. There was an option under paypal to use a credit card somehow, so that's what I did. Apparently that's what you are supposed to do if you don't have a paypal account. Ayways, I did all that and it confirmed my purchase. I have a confirmation e-mail. That was Monday, and nothing has happened. If I go to my account, there is still a link to sign up for ezsupporter, but nothing about activating it. I'm thinking it's either delayed or somehow didn't go through, but I don't want to sign up again and end up paying for it twice or something. Basically, I'm completely lost.
  7. I have a question about ezsupporter. I signed up for it yesterday, but I don't have it yet. I even received a confirmation e-mail. I went to my control center to turn on the icon, but I don't have that option. It's as if I never signed up for it. Does it take a while for it to go through?
  8. I see a ton of replies, but I would be interested.
  9. Thanks Patrick, this is some great stuff. It won't be long until we're thinking about the draft.
  10. After thinking about it, I think it would be best if Capellan could take the 8th with Wise in the 7th. That way guys who bat in the seventh are likely to have their next at-bat off Turnbow in the ninth, who is just about the opposite of Wise. Capellan being able to handle the 8th is a big "if," however.
  11. Thanks for all the info Colby.
  12. Kind of surprised he chose Arkansas over the likes of Nebraska and ASU, especially considering Arkansas isn't known as a strong academic school (he's a 4.0 student). I suppose this is all relative though. If he's hitting 93 at 6'7" he's going to be drafted high IMO. He may pass up Arkansas to go pro right away.
  13. Edit: I just realized this should be in the draft forum. Please move it if you'd like. Sorry!! Area star chooses Arkansas By DAVE BOEHLER dboehler@journalsentinel.com Posted: Oct. 24, 2005 Oak Creek senior Tony Butler, the Journal Sentinel's Milwaukee-area baseball player of the year, has decided to play for the University of Arkansas. Advertisement "Everything seemed like a great fit there," the 6-foot-7, 202-pound left-handed pitcher said. "It felt like I would be able to make a smooth transition from high school to fit right in their program." Butler, who recently hit a top speed of 93 mph, also visited Nebraska and was invited by Arizona State to tour its campus. "You can't go wrong in the SEC," Butler said. "And I was told I was the No. 1 lefty (Arkansas) recruited." Butler led Oak Creek to its third straight summer state title with an 11-1 record as a pitcher to go with a .385 batting average. He also set the school record with 50 runs batted in and his eight home runs were one shy of tying a team record. Butler added seven doubles and three triples to go with 20 runs. The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association tabbed Butler as its state player of the year. He is 24-2 on the mound in three years for the Knights. "I think Tony made a great choice," Oak Creek coach Scott Holler said. "We talked after each visit and I cold tell his heart and his head were telling him that Arkansas was the right spot. "His goals are to pitch in the College World Series and to play professionally after that. At Arkansas, he'll have the opportunity to make both those dreams come true. His amazing work ethic and determination is what leaves no doubt in my mind that both those dreams will soon be a reality." JS Online Article
  14. I just posted this in the fired coach thread, before I saw this one: Quote: It is also interesting to note that the team with the most sac hits, Washington (91 of 'em) scored the fewest runs in baseball this year. In fact, there is somewhat of a general inverse relationship between runs scored and sac hits this year. The only three teams in the top half in SH and runs scored are Atlanta, St. Louis and Philadelphia. ------------------ You just explained it without meaning to. The teams that bunt more are sub-par offensive teams. The Nationals were one of the worst offensive clubs in the league. They hardly had any run producers, which is why they needed to bunt more. Boston, on the other hand, doesn't bunt because... well, would you bunt if you had Ortiz and Ramirez in your lineup? You implied that teams can't score runs because they bunt, but really teams bunt because they can't score runs.

  16. Did a google search of "81" and a picture of Angelina Jolie came up. Apparently some site ranks the "100 hottest pictures of Angelina Jolie" and this was number 81. Not sure if I should post it, but funny nonetheless.
  17. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif Nevermind, La Crosse area isn't broadcasting the game on radio! Let's go D-Bow!
  18. Ach. Well, here it is. Turnbow time. Time to put on the radio and hear Ueck's call.
  19. I can't believe Wilson wasn't swinging. It was close, but bases loaded on a full count? I'll take it though.
  20. I wouldn't mind seeing Santana if he's available... but to answer your question, no.
  21. Hah, sorry for the typo. I go to UW-La Crosse. I'm certainly far from an Ultimate expert, but I'm on a team with some friends and we do it for fun. I'm in my third year, and by now we're actually pretty good. It's a lot of fun.
  22. Eveland in this situation? Really?
  23. I'm onan intramural Ultimate Frisbee team here at school, and we have a "Pump-up" cd we listen to. It has songs such as Eye of the Tiger, Another One Bites the Dust, and of course, The Final Countdown. It's pretty funny.
