  1. Agreeing to terms and not announcing to MLB creates huge fines and hot water. Let's say team F were interested in Cain and traded their top OF "thinking" that they can now sign Cain tomorrow to find out he already signed. See Ex Braves GM John Coppollelia
  2. Thanks for all the info. For this, I can't really see Phillips playing over Santana and Braun on a daily basis since most Ps are righties. That's just going to kill Santana's value even more.. And if Braun is healthy he's going to play since he's still the best hitter when healthy. Hopefully he can be adequate at 1B to create some flex all over the lineup. For giving up all this for Yelich and then platooning him, I checked is splits and 266/329 isn't great vs lefties so in the current scenario yes you might as well get the righties out there since they're so good. Hopefully there's a trade out there for Santana that resolves all this more easily. Couldn't they have done the Cain signing and just kept it quiet for another couple days until the Santana trade goes down? No, because Cain was being sought after hard by another team as well. Understand, Cain and Yelich are the Brewer's Protypical player's. I said last week the Brewer's ideal positional player is McCutcheon in his prime. .300 20 Hr's, 20 SB's and is superior on defense is what the Brewer's are looking for. The Brewer's are trying to stay away from the K kings and poor defense. Hence Domingo, Brinson and Isan Diaz not high on the Brewer's list. Also the trading of Khris Davis. On a side note. I could see the Brewer's trade Shaw if desperation kicks in for a SP and then sign Moustakas. Moustakas fits that Brewer's new mold just minus the wheels. My speculation here.
  3. No, the Brewer's don't know. Also, I can't leave absolute's. If I mentioned that player A, G, R, and W are being sent than the Brewer's will know that I know. Some stuff I know for sure, some I don't. Hence "American League Team". Let's just leave it at that. BTW, Stearn's does alot of his business behind closed doors. Meetings called when stuff get's serious.
  4. So ultimately, where do you see Darvish going and when do you think he decides? Really seems like he's holding up almost everything. It seems like when you want to date a girl but you both live on different sides of the tracks......
  5. If the Brewer's stay where their at position player wise, here is my lineup guess for OF and First. Vs Righties First-Thames Rf-Phillips Cf-Cain LF-Yelich Braun will fill in quite a bit here at least mid game when a lefty is brought in. Vs Lefties First- Aguilar Rf-Santana Cf-Cain Lf-Braun I don't see Keon being here opening day.
  6. Maybe or maybe not. But all it takes is one phone call.
  7. It would take more than Domingo and Burnes!
  8. Didn't say. Just said Archer was involved with T.B.
  9. Wait, are you saying that when the Brewers got Yelich and Cain that other teams wanted the Brewers to offer more because other teams feel that they lost leverage and lowered Santana's value? I was told that couldn't possibly happen. Yes. But the Brewer's did not want to lose out on Yelich. Also, the Brewer's were not as high on Brinson as some would think.
  10. Ok, let's get back on track here. Talked to my source this morning. Yu Darvish: The last time I was on here the Brewer's made Darvish an offer. The Cubs then came in and beat their offer substantially. So, I put Darvish to Cubs. And as of today, the Cubs offer is still the highest on the table. But........Darvish wants to see what the Dodger's can afford. Apparently L.A. offers a larger Asian population with shorter flights for family from Japan. Darvish also prefers warmer weather. Domingo Santana: The Brewer's came close to trading Domingo over the weekend. However, their pickups of Yelich and Cain may have impeded that. Apparently, the Brewers had offers for Cleveland, Tampa and one more team on the table. After the Brewer's acquisition of the OF's, it is known that Tampa upped what they wanted in return (Corbin Burnes) in a package for Archer. Stearns said no. Trade with T.B. has been put in limbo for now. My source gave the odds of Santana now be traded are at 75%. Brewers may also hold Domingo for the trade deadline. The Brewer's have a plan to get everybody in. Braun playing 2nd will not happen. Braun playing first could happen. Let it be known that Brewer's presumably top 30 is not most major league's FO's top 30. Across MLB, Corbin Burnes is #1, Keston Hiura #2 and Lutz and Ray jocking for #3 and Freddy Peralta #4. (May differ from team to team but consensus) Phillips is now considered MLB talent. Keon Broxton is being shopped for a Rookie league or A ball "home run". Similar to trading for Freddy Peralta at the stage the Brewers did. As I said earlier, Hader is next to impossible of being traded. Brewer's are high on Brett Phillips. My personal opinion is the influx of OF's are holding things up now. Dodger's would like to send Kemp and even Puig somewhere, but have little to no takers. Pirates and Marlins plan on pulling guys from AAA including Brinson to be part of their everyday lineup. This leaves a surplus of vets looking for work (See Cargo, Keon Broxton, etc) This decreases value of OF obviously. And decreases supply and demand. Once Darvish signs, the dominoes could fall very fast. - this last paragraph is my opinion.
  11. Hey weren't you going ice fishin? Yes. This will be my last post till Tuesday. 1 more “hot” smaller trade is in the works besides the Domingo trade per my source. I’m out. Go Brewers!!!
  12. Domingo to be traded to an American League Team. Possibly as soon as tomorrow.
  13. Rosenthal gets 6 figures. Can I at least get a hat or maybe even a pen?
  14. Rosenthal gets 6 figures. Can I at least get a hat or maybe even a pen?
  15. Brewers just got Yelich!!! I told you so!
  16. Here's the deal, 2 things. All quiet on Yelich so far today. Ball is in Marlins court and now we wait. I am off to an ice fishing tourney where reception is shotty at best. That means you will not hear from me until Tuesday. Until then. Go Brewers!!!!!
  17. Hey man, if you are going to claim to be an insider, but provide vague info, you have to expect skeptics. I'd love to see Yelich as much as anyone here. But your posts are getting a lot of fans' hopes up around here in what's been a slow as molasses offseason. I hope you are right, but I guess nothing would surprise me at this point. Providing very specific information is how you lose any sources you may have. Please put him on ignore rather than push away this kind of information. Bingo! If I provided all the numbers to powerball 5 hours before they drew it on “live” tv I would have the FBI at my house. Same theory holds true here. As far as I know the Brewers FO thinks I’m an idiot. Best keep it that way.
  18. He said earlier today that it could be a week. Could be blowing smoke. Who really knows? When he said the Brewers upped their offer, the first thing I thought was that DS doesn't just up an offer (as with most GMs)... if they increase the offer, they ask for more back. Could be more pieces involved if the Brewers ask for Barraclagh or Straily. Might take a while to straighten out. Also could be a third team involved. Brewers could be taking on Castro, but with the intent of moving him to another team. That goes back to the team A scenario that fell apart because of how much salary to take on. Brewers could be coming back and saying, "We'll take on more of that contract, but you take Castro back." Castro was a 2 bWAR player last year... better to get that back than just send MIL cash. Had Jungmann still been here, I don't think he would have minded being traded to Miami at all. I don't think Broxton would mind either - knowing he has a MLB roster spot as opposed to possibly being sent to the minors or shuttled back and forth. No state income tax, Miami Beach... not a terrible place to be, especially when you're *only* making $500K/year. If you'll recall from his little legal fiasco last offseason, Broxton's from Tampa, so he's also a FL kid. Tampa & Miami are different worlds, but Miami's a whole lot closer to Tampa than Milwaukee is. I trust HH19. His scoops reflect his insider's take on the Brewers' FO's perspectives/hopes/attempts. I doubt he'd share what he's sharing if it were BS. To Brew4U's comments, If this stuff doesn't happen, it's no reflection at all on HH19 but of either of the Brewers' choices or the choices of the other team(s) or FAs involved in these scenarios. If Miami nixes this deal or trades Yelich to another team, that's Miami's decision, not Stearns', and therefore doesn't undermine or discredit HH19 in the least. Thanks, but I don’t think I’m going to be wrong. Not saying it couldn’t happen.
  19. He said earlier today that it could be a week. Could be blowing smoke. Who really knows? I'm in I'll believe it when I see it mode. I was taking it hook, line and sinker a couple days ago. Now I am skeptical. Basically its because this thread has now discussed two deals that our "insider" basically assured would happen. He seemed quite optimistic about Darvish as well. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice ... I still assure you that Darvish will be a Cub and someone asked “my opinion” not my insiders opinion on Yelich. And I said 95 percent chance that Yelich will be a Brewer based on what I know. And that still holds true. So put your Willy back in your pants and your gonna have to wait a bit for your copy of Hustler to come in. If your job was buying and selling multi million dollar machines. And if the machines you bought broke down you lost your million dollar job you may take a day or two or even three before you made that purchase.
  20. I posted that yesterday and people don't believe me on here!
  21. Marlins are trying to create bidding war for Yelich and "Friends". Brewers have just upped their offer........... Uggghhhh. Once again, don't ask or even pry hints. Should know something in a week if not sooner.
  22. Matter of fact. Yelichs 2017 stats vs some of the greats: Scherzer- BA .412 OPS 1.415 Kershaw- BA .455 OPS .955 DeGrom- BA .438 OPS .971 Kendrick- BA .400 OPS .928 This is how you win in the playoffs, because these are the type of guys you face in the playoffs.
  23. Brewers and Astro's value athleticism over production. Think 5 tool players at literally every position. Goldschmidt, Altuve, and McCutcheon in his prime are poster children for the Brewers. And maybe not even the strongest in one tool, but no weakness in any of the tools. Prince Fielder, Billy Hamilton, and Khris Davis are the antagonists of what the Brewers want. One trick ponies who have glaring weaknesses that can and will be exposed by not only pitchers, but especially "playoff" pitchers. Hence the push for Yelich: If you try to hit at him he will get you out. If you try to run on him he will throw you out. If he gets on base he will cause the pitcher headaches. If a runner is at third he will find away to put the ball in play and get that player home . If a strikeout is the worst case scenario when he is up, he will not strikeout. If the pitcher makes a mistake he will take him yard. Yelich and Braun will make the best pitchers quiver when they are up in a clutch situation. And that's how you build a playoff team. Not power hitters who put up 34 of their 41 HR's off of lolly pops. Lolly pops don't pitch in October.
  24. It's neither. It's buy low and sell high with timing being the key.
  25. Why not? Not sure, just asking. HH, think deal gets done soon? It's in the Marlins hands now. Their speed not ours.
