  1. Thanks Outlander, I haven't been as active here during the offseason so I missed a few things clearly. I'll wipe out all the 2018 notes after the season starts, and add new 2019 notes as the season progresses.
  2. Updates: - Added Mike Moustakas - Added Jake Petricka (I agree that it looks like he should have 2 options remaining) - Updated Adrian Houser to include his 4th option
  3. Updates: - I totally forgot to update this when Santana was traded for Gamel, and have corrected that. - Just so I don't forget when it's made official, I've gone ahead and added Grandal.
  4. Update: Keon Broxton traded to the Mets. Bobby Wahl received as part of the return and takes his place on the 40-man. He has 2 option years remaining.
  5. Update: Cory Spangenberg signing has been made official. He has 1 option remaining.
  6. Update: Alex Claudio has been added to the 40-man roster. He has 1 option remaining.
  7. I always knew a Jerry Dipoto rebuild would be something to behold.
  8. Update: Jonathan Schoop, Dan Jennings, and Xavier Cedeno have all been non-tendered and removed from the 40-man.
  9. Update: Trey Supak and Troy Stokes Jr. have been added to the 40-man to protect against the Rule 5 Draft.
  10. Update: Stephen Vogt has been outrighted off the 40-man roster and has elected free agency.
  11. I have made all the updates based on And That's posts. Thanks for the clarification on some of my questions!
  12. Update: Brewers have declined the option on Jordan Lyles.
  13. Update: Mike Moustakas and Joakim Soria have declined their half of their mutual options, and have been removed from the 40-man roster.
  14. Updates: - Gio Gonzalez, Wade Miley, and Curtis Granderson have all elected free agency and have been removed from the 40-man roster. - Tyrone Taylor was added to the 40-man roster and has 3 options remaining.
  15. Just looking ahead at what kind of payroll the Brewers will have committed for 2019. I'm making some assumptions that guys like Chase Anderson will still be here (although I kinda forgot how cheap his non-option years were), but there's a possibility some of this money comes off the books via trade, but also a good possibility that we add more money in areas as well. * = Projected in Arbitration SP: - Chase Anderson: $6M - Jhoulys Chacin: $6M - Jimmy Nelson: $3.7M* - Junior Guerra: $2.7M* - Zach Davies: $2.4M* - Corbin Burnes: $555K - Brandon Woodruff: $555K - Freddy Peralta: $555K RP: - Joakim Soria: $10M mutual option ($1M Buyout) - Corey Knebel: $4.9M* - Jordan Lyles: $3.5M club option ($250K Buyout) - Jeremy Jeffress: $3.175M - Matt Albers: $2.5M - Dan Jennings: $1.6M* - Xavier Cedeño: $1.5M* - Josh Hader: $555K - Jacob Barnes: $555K - Adrian Houser: $555K - Brent Suter: $555K - Taylor Williams: $555K OF: - Ryan Braun: $18M ($3M deferred) - Lorenzo Cain: $15M ($1M deferred) - Christian Yelich: $9.75M - Domingo Santana: $2M* IF: - Mike Moustakas - $15M mutual option ($1M Buyout) - Jonathan Schoop: $10.1M* - Eric Thames: $6M - Travis Shaw: $5.1M* - Stephen Vogt: $3.065M* - Hernan Perez: $2.7M* - Manny Piña: $1.8M* - Erik Kratz: $1.7M* - Tyler Saladino: $1M* - Jesus Aguilar: $555K - Orlando Arcia: $555K - Jacob Nottingham: $555K As far as those with above-minimum salaries go, I think we can probably assume: - Soria: $1M Buyout - Moustakas: We exercise option, Moustakas either accepts for $15M or we owe nothing (I'm assuming that's how buyouts work with mutual options, we don't pay unless we don't exercse our end) - Lyles: $250K Buyout - Jennings: Tender - Cedeno: Tender - Nelson: Tender - Davies: Tender - Guerra: Tender - Santana: Tender - Schoop: Tender - Shaw: Tender - Vogt: Non-Tender - Perez: Tender - Pina: Tender - Kratz: Non-Tender (guessing they'll try to sign him on a minor league deal though) - Saladino: Non-Tender (same as Kratz, try for minor league deal) Assuming all these are correct, that leaves us with a payroll for the above players of $112.28M (plus whatever the cost of Moustakas would end up, +$15M or +$1M) Obviously there's more than 25 players there so cut out a few minimum salaries and maybe get down to $110 Don't forget that tendering a contract would still allow the Brewers to cut several guys in spring training and only pay them like 30 days salary. Guys like Jennings/Cedeño/Vogt/Kratz/Saladino could just fall into that camp. That's why I assume they tender most of those guys instead of outright releasing them. Even if there's only an outside chance some of them make the team (can't see both Jennings/Cedeño making it), might as well keep the depth around for a minimal cost. I'd say it seems that the Brewers can't keep both Moustakas and Schoop. Which means if they pick up Moustakas' option, Schoop will certainly be on the trade block. As for additional money, I think the Brewers could really benefit from another late-inning relief arm and a starting catcher, but they'll probably still be pretty good without either of those if the price is too high. We'll have to wait and see. What does everyone else think?
  16. The password I get through work to get discounted tix in the regular season isn't working for the corporate partners presale, so I guess I'm waiting until Monday...
  17. Agreed, I have definitely appreciated yesterday's off day and am trying my best to get away from the pessimistic "they'd still have to win tomorrow" attitude and more just say that any day with a Brewers postseason game is a great day to be alive. I'll be there tonight and hopefully tomorrow, and if that's it then at least I'll have gotten to see the last game(s) of the season for this extraordinary team, and get super excited for what is possible in 2019. And should things fall right, then the REAL fun begins....
  18. Guess for the lineup given Ryu's reverse splits: 1. Cain CF 2. Yelich RF 3. Braun LF 4. Shaw 2B 5. Aguilar 1B 6. Moustakas 3B 7. Kratz C 8. Arcia SS 9. Miley P If Miley has a good start (5 innings, 1 run), we can afford to trot out Hader, Knebel, Jeffress for multiple innings each. Dodgers are going to need great pitching to beat us today if they can't hit Miley.
  19. I would absolutely love if this happened. That would mean Chacin would pitch today on short rest though which would be kind of pointless since we have to win today and tomorrow anyways.
  20. My family has a 20-game pack and never got an email, couldn't use the account ID as a password to get in like with previous SSH presales. We did sell some of our playoff tickets thus far though....
  21. If anybody else has a code, I'd love to give it a try...
  22. Is it a specific code for you or just a general code that anyone could use? I suppose it doesn't matter if it doesn't work...
  23. I have a code for my company's "special ticket offer" thing during this regular season, would it be the same password to get tickets tomorrow?
  24. Well I can't get in, so I won't be getting tickets.....this sucks....
  25. Could also be that this was really hastily put together.
