  1. We can come up with all the excuses in the world for Yelich but if he doesn't hit like he is capable of we are toast.
  2. Crushing loss. We are still in it because pretty much everyone is but this offense has to be better. The 19 runs was nice but it doesn't make up for the majority of the season being terrible.
  3. I'm not concerned with Hader's velocity. My issue is his lack of command.
  4. If someone wants to pay a ridiculous price for Williams I would do that in the offseason as well. I'm not looking to move top relievers for a mediocre return but when the value is high you take it.
  5. You say this repeatedly, but then also say you can't trade him unless you get a Gavin Lux quality prospect back. What do you want Stearns to do, force a trade at gunpoint? I'd like to know what the offers were. If it was Andujar and some other garbage from the Yankees we may as well keep him. If teams were offering a good deal we should have done it. Nothing in baseball is as unpredictable as relief pitching. So few guys are consistent year after year and when you can sell high on any of them you do it.
  6. We needed to move him last offseason or this deadline though I doubt the offers were there this season. Just have to hope he bounces back next season because we are now stuck with him.
  7. You always sell high on relievers. We will be having this discussion about Williams in a few years. Still much of the blame has to go to this punchless offense.
  8. Is it ok to be excited about Burnes or do we ignore his stats because its a weird season. I have seen a bunch of excuses made for guys who aren't playing well so does that mean to just throw out all the good that Burnes has done.
  9. So Arcia is back to putting up his usual numbers. To think he actually hit fifth the other night.
  10. Here comes the useless 9th inning rally to make the game look closer than it was.
  11. Other than bullpen this team has no other strengths at all.
  12. If ever there was a Brewers team that we should be happy only plays 60 games its this one.
  13. I don’t think that’s something we can accurately predict at this point, but the front office appears to be betting on the fact he will. One encouraging sign is coming into tonight he was averaging over 89-mph on his exit velocity which is above average. I would not be surprised at all if he turned into a doubles hitter that also produces 20-25 HRs a year in his peak seasons. I agree that he’s obviously going to be more valuable in the middle infield than as a third baseman. If Urias hits 20-25 HRs and carries a high OBP he can play third base for as long as he is on this team.
  14. If they use the pick on a guy that can hit and not the usual toolsy athlete with a questionable hit tool. Besides Hiura who has this team drafted with big offensive upside.
  15. Stearns mentioned last week when he joined the broadcast that they believe Urias is going to develop more power in his game. I think whether or not that happens will have a big impact on how valuable of an offensive player he becomes. There are countless examples of guys that developed more power/slugging after their age-23 season. I’m hopeful we will see something similar for Urias, especially once he’s further removed from the hamate bone injury. Urias might hit for a decent average and may even be a high OBP guy but I don't see any real power developing. If he ends up as our shortstop and fields well enough he can be an asset. As a third baseman I don't see him being all that useful.
  16. Haines absolutely cannot be back next season. Its certainly not all his fault that this lineup is terrible but he has to go.
  17. Maybe Brock Holt actually has a long track record of getting on base at a high clip and the Brewers totally screwed things up by not giving him a chance to play and eventually releasing him for Jayce Peterson who is a far inferior player.

  19. The Brewers average striking out 9.89 times per game.

  21. I figured getting Bieber out after 5 was a good thing but I guess it doesn't matter.
