  1. Was not a fan of Smoak but yuk at Vogelbach. Hopefully he is strictly a DH because this team can't afford another butcher in the field. Not that this move signals this but I expect another big cut in payroll in the offseason.
  2. You don't pay a guy 10 million to be pinch hit for by this guy.
  3. With all these holes on this roster Hader is going to have to be traded in the offseason.
  4. Wow a team moving runners over. I didn't know that was allowed.
  5. No this lineup sucks because our minor league system has barely produced any bats and Stearns decided to spend money on Smoak, Sogard, and Garcia. How much did Smoak+Sogard+Garcia cost relative to the Moustakas contract? Combined over 20 million which is more than Moustakas but I didn't want to bring him or Grandal back at their contracts either. I liked the Narvaez acquisition but it just hasn't worked out so far. I was 100% against signing any of Smoak, Sogard, and Garcia.
  6. That I won't blame Stearns for. Narvaez was a very good hitting catcher before coming here. Its just one of many reasons why Haines has to be fired.

  8. Who drafted him? Does that excuse the fact that the majority of this lineup is terrible.
  9. It will be an organizational failure if Hiura doesn't end up being a very good player. That bat speed doesn't come around too often.
  10. May as well bring Hernan back. He can't be any worse than what we have right now.
  11. Remember Haines was hired after being fired as an assistant hitting coach with the Cubs after their lineup underachieved. He has no business being a major league hitting coach.
  12. I think the opposite, I think that Counsell doesn't have these guys ready to play day in and day out based on the constant mental mistakes... Bad enough that they are not performing physically, but the stupid mental mistakes take a toll, and some of that has to fall on the manager. CC is over rated imo. I liked the job that CC did for the most part before this season but his reliance on Sogard and turning Hader into a one inning closer are just two of the moves that have been questionable at best. I'm not a fan of Hook and as far as I'm concerned the very first move of the offseason has to be the firing of Haines.
