  1. We get a leadoff single and he never moves. They get a leadoff single and they plate six. Must be nice.
  2. I mean, he did well against them Sunday.
  3. I'm starting to think Julio may not have it tonight.
  4. Lining up the alternate entertainment options.
  5. 1 pitch and a runner in scoring position. We couldn't get a runner in scoring position in four at bats.
  6. Interesting. I thought he'd be a piece that would potentially move.
  7. Which is true of most of the teams in the NL.
  8. Who isn't really. At bat to at bat, I'm not sure what any of these dudes is gonna do.
  9. I don't think they are that far off. Add another bat, bring up Hiura. I think Anderson helps, maybe Tellez comes back healthy and doing his best self. Urias seems to be hitting again. A rising tide lifts all ships. Getting arms healthy (Miley, Woodruff, Ashby) helps too. Just need a little luck, which they haven't had much of.
  10. Agreed. Hopefully the Dodgers can take two from the Reds then lets get another bat, Woody healthy and get on with the easy part of the schedule.
  11. I can't argue that. I think everyone on this board wants that. Hopefully they get another bat or two in the lineup. That doesn't mean that pitching and defense can't win a World Series with an average offense (which they can still have).
  12. Yeah, I can live with either of Turang or Weimer (preferably Weimer) in the lineup but not both.
  13. Sure, but this Braves offense is killing everyone. They have a top three run differential (at +140). The Brewers are not the only good team they are doing this to. None of which makes the Brewers a bad team.
  14. Its going to be difficult for our starters all weekend. This Braves offense is on a another level.
  15. Did you not just witness this team shut down the Reds offense? I'm glad you think one game makes your point but it doesn't
  16. Because it is and your point about the team being in a better position with better offense is probably true. I think every single person on this board would agree with that. Of course, they would also be better with Cole and Gallen in the rotation with a healthy Woodruff. I do not, however, agree with your offense is everything and sell the future for it philosophy.
  17. So now your standard for winning is a World Series victory. I remember a Mariners team predicated almost entirely on offense that set the record for team wins that got bounced in the first round. I seem to remember some Royals teams recently riding a great bullpen and a great defense to a World Series. There is no formula guaranteed to win a World Series. All different kinds of teams have won a title. Yes, the Braves offense is great and they have the money to make it so but to ignore what their pitching has done is silly. Run prevention isn't only defense. Go ahead. move the goal posts again, it won't help.
  18. The "you do you" Brewers hitting philosophy,
  19. But that isn't what you said. You said run prevention doesn't win, presumably advocating that offense does. Never mind that your statement is demonstrably false but explain why several teams that sold out for offense are looking to sell off. I think we can all agree the Reds have a pretty stacked offense but have a worse run differential than we do (never mind they just got owned by the run prevention team yet again). Of course this team would be in a better position with more offense, but so would the reds with more run prevention. I'm sure you'll shift the goal post again but your premise doesn't hold.
  20. Frelick - Contreras - Yelich - Sasntana - New DH - Monesterio - Adames - Anderson - Weimer
