  1. Freddy is not the guy I would want coming out of the pen. I do think I'd give Woody the ball in game 1 though.
  2. Some of it is relative too. I don't think Contreras beats that Yelich hit out and the inning would have been over.
  3. But that was all by "design"...
  4. This team, this collection of players, is 24 games above .500! You couldn't have sold me on that for anything in the world.
  5. Whats crazy about that?
  6. Thanks to the Bristol mess we get Strider in game 2 now.
  7. The Brewers lacked weakness only if we don't consider depth of position players. That is an obvious weakness that could easily have been addressed and was not. With players dropping like flies after the ASB, that depth is going to be tested and MAs failure to address it can and should be questioned if it comes back to bite them. Having said that, this has been a "next man up" kind of year so who knows how it works out.
  8. I get the Cubs got off to a hot start but they have been pretty average since that payed out. The top four in the lineup are very good, maybe not as good as they were in April/May but good. Having said that, what else about that team inspires fear? Bullpen...no (even after the trades), rotation, no (not a playoff rotation in my mind). The rest of the offense is pretty meh. They are good, no doubt, but I'd rather face them than say a Marlins team that sneaks in during the first round.
  9. I've given up explaining why the Brewers are where they are. So much about it doesn't make sense but here we are. As for the Cubs, beyond the first four hitter in their lineup and one or two starters, the rest of that team seems very mediocre to me.
  10. So you're saying the Cubs would have had a better chance if they had gone all in?
