  1. Credit where credit is due. Nice start by Montas. If he, CIvale and Peralta are going to get hot there is something special cooking.
  2. Not sure I've every enjoyed watching a team play defense more than this team. Every night someone does something great with the glove.
  3. Nice. Statement series in my opinion.
  4. He will forever be one of my heroes.
  5. Gotta give Freddy credit. Very nice start. Looking forward to the follow up effort.
  6. I don't hate alternating handedness. I just hate letting it rule how a lineup is built. If you have the horses to do it, then do it. Having said that, the line up tonight isn't bad. I'd move up Contreras and Adames and hit Sanchez fifth but Gary has been hitting some lately so no big deal.
  7. Look at the box scores around the league and that will tell you everything you need to know. There is no archetype any more, particularly when it comes to lead off hitters. The notions articulated in the OP are antiquated, and for good reason. There must be something in the analytics that says alternating handedness is an advantage. I agree with those that have said your best hitters get the most ABs. That should be the guiding principal.
  8. If the Brewers are going to win, I think I'd rather have the Cards win that one.
  9. To be fair, I'm certain that claim (or "he should be sent down") has been made about every single player on the roster in the last two seasons.
  10. A good Cubs meltdown is a fun way to kick off the evening.
  11. So much for the "Get Yelich healthy" notion. Good way to take the shine off of things.
  12. He didn't touch second coming back through the second time. He's going to be out.
