  1. Shaw with a 3 run homer to get the lead. Here's hoping the guys have a good game tonight and finally win one. Now that Villar is hitting Stearns goes out and gets a second baseman. But defensively it will be an upgrade. Walker is a very good player.
  2. It would be tied if CC would have left Torres sitting in the pen. Travis was too anxious to hit one out.
  3. Mark with Ueck in the booth lost his good luck for the team that inning. Frustrating!
  4. Got to give props to Jeffress. He did well. Then Torres throws a homer ball. Of course CC couldn't miss a chance to use Torres.
  5. Can it be. Can they win this thing. Mark had better stay with Ueck for the rest of the game.
  6. Ueck very excited sitting with the good luck owner. Now a one run game!
  7. Mark is on with Ueck and he says as an owner he sees this team engaged. Ueck excited that Thames just hit that homer. Right back in it he says. Ueck says stick around boss. Mark laughs and I think he might be giving the team some good luck sitting in the booth with Ueck.
  8. Both Thames and Shaw led this team the first half. Now neither one is hitting as well. Travis might be tired both playing most days and emotionally with his little girl being so sick. He came right back from that neck injury. No complaining and no DL. He is still hitting .290 and fielding well. Not awful.
  9. I have to believe some of these guys care and are trying hard.
  10. Will Bob Uecker ever see the Brewers in another World Series. I doubt it.
  11. It feels like the Brewers will screw this up and end up in last place. From first place to last. Rebuilding year, yes. But it doesn't have to be embarrassing loss after loss.
  12. Villar could have held Pina's excellent throw. Two errors. He just isn't a good 2nd baseman this year.
  13. Another embarrassing loss coming on. Broxton removed. How about Villar.
  14. Thanks to Villar and his two errors this game might be over for the Crew. This when Ueck was saying how he was unhappy sitting on the bench and has had a couple of hits and is on his way to being what he was last year. But if the guy can't field and the other team scores runs what good is he. Last year was last year. This year he just isn't a good 2nd baseman. I'm not so sure Scooter was such a downgrade and was expendable. He is having a great year for the Reds.
  15. A well pitched game from Zach and timely hitting will be much appreciated. Let's get a win and stop this slide.
  16. Someone posted on the Brewers Facebook page that Travis' daughter had a 10 hour heart operation today. Prayers and good thoughts for Travis and family.
  17. Bumgarner is only 2-5 with the win today. No wonder the Giants are doing so poorly.
  18. Well to that logic just because the pitcher isn't a $20-30 million dollar ace then it is okay if he only pitches 3 or 4 innings and gets shelled because he is only a 4th or 5th starter. Granted Garza has his fans. I happen not to be one. When Garza pitches I have low expectations. When every other starter pitches I expect a well pitched game.
  19. Scooter plays PT, benefits from playing at Great American, and is hitting .551 OPS vs LHP. I said at the time I thought it was a bad idea to let him go. At the same time I understood the logic, and still do. Scooter is a platoon 2B, and that's really hard to justify on a 25 man roster. Sure they wish they had him now, that happens. Kinda like how the red sox greatly regret the shaw trade...the end result of this decision pales in comparison to that massive blunder. Exactly.
  20. Everyone has bad games but Garza isn't Chris Sale or Kershaw either. If they have bad games, it's a bad game. If Garza has a bad game, it's another one.
  21. But why keep him around when he is capable of such a terrible game like last night. And for $5 million when someone from the system would probably be better. It makes no sense to me to keep him.
  22. Scooter is having a very good year. Villar is pretty bad. Shaw is having a very good year. Sandoval was released. Sometimes a change of scenery makes all the difference.
  23. I would say Dubon/Perez in the mix sounds right to me too.
