  1. Considering Cameron is 35 and signed to a 1 year deal, I do not think he'll return.
  2. I don't think it would surprise anyone to see Laporta as an everyday player to begin '09. Hart and Braun are unlikely to not be there, so I see an all RH OF. Looking well ahead (and a bit ignorantly, as BA predicts such things assuming no trades will be made), I could easily see Brantley or another prospect from AA breaking in as a reserve in '10 and then taking over when Prince moves on and Matt moves to 1B. Comparing Gamel to Prince and Braun at AA, stats and age, at some point in '09 makes sense. If Mat and Matt do both debut, I would think they would bring in a veteran LH bat to play defense late (Randy Winn?) and rest Laporta versus tough RHP's, and maybe a RH 3B to do the same...though I would not mind seeing Dillon in that role, or any role, for that matter.
  3. I've wanted Chad Tracy for a couple years now, so if Gamel is like him, I'll happily take that.
  4. True. The 9PM broadcast in Wausau and the 10PM is 90% the same.
  5. I probably attended 30-40 Twins' games in my Twin cities years, and I do not recall a single person booing once...and many years, they were awful. Justify all you wish, Milwaukee boos early and often.
  6. Yeah, I don't see this being cost effective at all. Local newscasts regularly lose to Seinfeld and the like, so this seems unlikely. Wouldn't it be the same hour after hour?
  7. I'm not a big fan of HS arms in the first 5 rounds myself, but of course, Yo worked out nicely.
  8. Then it makes sense...I thought he was in his 2nd or 3rd year.
  9. A few will give him a nice hand. Most won't. A few will boo. I got a pair of e-mails that said they sat next to small groups that booed Jenkins. It's become a boo happy town.
  10. It's like the Crew trading a more expensive version of Carlos or Yo, guys who are considered part of the future. Very doubtful, unless the Rockies start over.
  11. COL probably is every bit as in it as they were last year right now. No deals until mid July.
  12. Most are quite a ways behind, so Salome would not get much press yet.
  13. Why would they not want him, he surely cannot be spendy can he?
  14. I wear shorts all winter long too, as the temp is he same in my house all year.
  15. As a SS, Hall has value now, but not as much as he had a couple months ago. But, any team trading a SP is giving up on '08, and right now, that's maybe 2 teams.
  16. 90 innings is plenty for a reliever, but if spaced out, can easily be done by plenty of relief guys...but not the "max delivery" types, like Derrick. Time will tell.
  17. I wonder if this is a Cameron thing, as I do not recall the untucking last year (though they've done the hop before). I hate to see the jumping, as all it can lead to is an ankle injury.
  18. Luck, and the fact is, he seems to be aggressive with the sacks full, as opposed to just looking to get on. He's a dandy reserve INF, defense, OBP, LH bat.
  19. They'd call it 450, 400 + 50.
  20. As far as I know, it measures how far it went, not how far it might have gone.
  21. OBP does not directly translate to the Majors. I'm not sure what is a better sign of plate discipline than plate discipline. Considering Krynzel was rated a bunch higher, and he did nothing well other than run back to the dugout a tad faster, I'm a results guy.
  22. Brantley is going the wrong way for a very young guy with a .400 OBP.
  23. Suppan has value as long as he is effective and pitching salaries keep increasing. We'll see after this offseason, but I do not see salaries going down, as long as money is flowing like it is around the game.
