  1. I'll take Weeks by 5 OBP points. It is astounding how every person who cuts down on Rickie also seems to ignore how important it is not to get out, which is OBP. It is not coincidence Rickie has scored more runs than anyone in the game since he came back from AAA last August...he's simply on base a lot and runs really fast. EDIT: Spelling.
  2. Much of Kendall's regression is just him coming back to the mean. I'd be all for getting him a day off once a week however, and try to make it before an off day when there is one. If they picked up a solid backup, like Gerald Laird, it'd be simple. Rivera gets out so much, it's tough to like the options.
  3. I see Hernan as a reserve OF, maybe as early as '09. He'll be a nice guy to have on the bench.
  4. I never try to impress anyone, Brian, and I think I'm succeeding.
  5. Obviously, the first one will be as a specialist of some sort; loogy, goalie, kicker. Manon Rheaume was the female goalie, and she was good, but widely considered too small to be effective in the NHL. I would guess loogy would be as possible as anything, as a gal that can throw 70 mph and get lefties out need not be built like Jennie Finch...though that would be a dandy bonus.
  6. You would have to go through his local police force. It would not hurt to file a report, if nothing else, he may not have the funds to pay everyone, so he would be more likely to pay you first.
  7. Brantley is very young and has a .400 OBP. He's a stud.
  8. I saw the bratfest was this weekend, but figured the boy would be bored quickly. Currently thinking of the Appleton Kids' Museum. By the way, the Rattlers are out of town all weekend.
  9. I would think DET will certainly claim him, as they have a worse W/L than the Crew. Hard to figure they could not trade a guy with a 2 ERA.
  10. My family looks to be at home this weekend, and while we do not have any "big plans", we would be open to a day trip. Wondering what thoughts are out there. Also, anything out of the ordinary for a picnic/grill would be appreciated.
  11. Very, very few double steals are called for from the bench. I assume Cameron went on his own, and Braun followed.
  12. Brett's dream lineup might be a group of made up names...I would have no idea.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Pitch, how much is a change of clothes...$30-50? That's tight. And the airlines rarely lose luggage, it is usually just delayed a few hours. I certainly would not worry about it.
  14. I don't recall Portland being a big market.
  15. Probably a cash holdup.
  16. What Robert said. No plan at all.
  17. I agree MS, as I said, I take everything in a gym bag. Thought I had missed an earlier post. One could make an argument for "it's a sign of the excess" all over, someone feeling they need to take a behemoth bag to go for a 2 day trip. It's the same mentality that leads to someone having 5000 CD's or 41 pairs of athletic shoes, or 24 hunting rifles. In their next breath, they will blame "the man" or "those evil rich" for keeping them down. Let's not forget, 80% of the US "poor" have cable and air conditioning. To think that is unrelated to the suitcase issue is silly. If others have that, many need more...like 10 changes of clothes and 6 pairs of shoes for that weekend trip to Houston.
  18. Guys and teams have bad 44 game stretches all the time, they just do not get noticed as much when the BA falls from .310 to .275. Overreaction won't do much good either, basically, you just gotta hope guys return to the norm.
  19. The irony here is, batting order makes little difference. Many of the ideas here are backwards as well, such as the post above makes clear, as Hardy has hit horribly, yet some still want to move him up. Much ado about very little. The problem is not what order guys hit in the lineup, it's how the guys in the lineup hit.
  20. I've only heard of Giants, but I'm far from the main customer at that stage. The headliners all are big names, and I'm sure the Jonas Brothers will pack the house with 16 and unders on the final day. I always look for the complaints of Summerfest's lineup as the first sign of Summer. Good to see the warm season has arrived.
  21. Doug goes to see each of the minor league teams during the season...he was just in Brevard County as well.
  22. What's the problem? Sounds like the Brewers took a tour of a couple facilities. Any "meetings" will take place much later. Obviously, the team needed to know if the places were crap or beautiful before they even sat down with anyone. Negotiations are probably months away.
  23. Briggs, I would get torn apart from making that statement, but you are correct, if the sub .500 play continues.
  24. Alos, Nunez may have asked to go elsewhere, if he did not see a clear path. He probably had an "out".
  25. Crabbe is not going to garner any major league SP...CLE could have had him for nothing. Crabbe may be the most discussed AAA player here since Brian Lesher. He simply is not very good. To even compare Rickie to Callix is odd...he doesn't even compare to Counsell very well.
