  1. Yep just over 20days isn't enough time to overhaul and fix anything especially when he spent what? A week likely at home supporting his mom. Team should start using Narvaez or Pina at first starting the other at catcher vs Lefties. Keep Hiura down for as long as his K-rate is 33% or higher after the 20days needed to not count on service time and longer til it reaches that mark. I don't think the goal was to overhaul or fix anything. Just mental re-set. If he continues to struggle this bad for anotyer week or two, then I'm sure plan B goes into effect and they send him down much longer and make major changes. If he needs an overhaul then he’s a bust of a draft pick because he was drafted as an elite college bat. If he plays his way off the team again, they’re probably looking at a change scenery trade for some other team’s bust of a top prospect
  2. They're batting .209 as a team. Every combination is the worst lineup I've ever seen. Yes, one starter in the lineup today has an average over .230, and four of the 8 starters are batting under .200 (JBJ, Hirua, Adames, Robertson)
  3. Haters going to hate I guess. Vogelbach has been their best OBP player for the last 15 games
  4. This squad really needs to stop sleepwalking through games. Infinitely more talented than Detroit but you wouldn’t know it by runs scored.
  5. That's my point, given the performance of the current cast of characters in the bullpen he likely won't be traded now until he has 5.5 years of service time. Unless of course, the roster collapses and they decide to rebuild between now and then.
  6. It didn't occur to me until just now, but with Feyereisen traded away, young power arm Rasmussen traded away, Topa suffering a significant arm injury, and the general shakiness of Devin Williams, Lindblom, Yardley and Perdomo... Josh Hader is not likely going to be traded away until during his final year of team control.
  7. I guess that's my point, it's equally possible Quintana wasn't even on the Brewers radar. They likely could have been presented with a choice between cash or Quintana, and they decided to take the player.
  8. Wait a minute, so you’re going to release the guy, then trade away more talent to get some relief arms? Maybe they should have just kept Rasmussen and Feyereisen I don't know if the answer is releasing Lindblom but if you don't think the guy can be an effective relief pitcher then of course you should release him, it doesn't matter what other transactions were previously made. They had to trade controllable relief pitchers for a controllable SS. It might be easier to get a guy on a one year deal or a little overpaid. We're in May coming off a shortened season, where the expectations are teams are going to need extra pitching. The Brewers have already diluted a significant portion of their relief pitching depth, I doubt they are going to dig a deeper hole now to acquire relief pitching from another team. Therefore the question is whether or not they believe Lindblom is more effective than the next man up: Godley?, LeBlanc? Blaine Hardy, etc. and if so is it worth biting the bullet on nearly 6 million dollars in guarantees to Lindblom. I don't like him but I bet they'll give him every chance to try to figure something out that works on the mound.
  9. Sure, the future is unknown, and therefore in the purest sense, every minor league player is a "lottery ticket" that could beat the odds and become the next Mickey Mantle. However, with McKinney, its not as if the Brewers GM was seeing three moves ahead on the chessboard. The Mets had an immediate need for help due to having 4 OFers and their starting 1B on the DL. I would speculate the Mets offered the Brewers a player or cash to make the trade immediately instead of New York waiting around on their waiver claim or until McKinney was released in a week's time. It's an absurd notion that a GM would give up a player they perceive as being more than an organization solider in order to acquire a likely temporary player who would be available for nothing in a few days time.
  10. Let’s not kid ourselves, they would’ve let McKinney go to New York for nothing, so it’s not like the Mets gave up a “talent” that will improve the Brewers minor league depth to get him. Maybe they gave Milwaukee a player to acquire McKinney immediately, because all 5 Met outfielders are hurt and they needed him now instead of in 4 or 5 days
  11. Wait a minute, so you’re going to release the guy, then trade away more talent to get some relief arms? Maybe they should have just kept Rasmussen and Feyereisen
  12. This is the price of Adames (and the cost of Urias failing) that we’re watching
  13. They’re desperate for him to be the guy he was in the summer of 2019, but like Shaw that guy doesn’t seem to be in there anymore. Probably should go back to AAA and continue to work
  14. Unfortunately, this will probably become the norm like with Jon Lester. He either has to adapt or it’s going to be a track meet from now on when anyone gets on.
  15. 2 errors in 4 games. Adames isn’t playing better than Urias s
  16. Vogelbach .370 OBP in his last 15 games. .350 OBP in his last 30 games. Isn’t an OBP guy who you want in the 2 hole?
  17. It’s Rodgers playing mind games via the media, like a married couple who have a fight, he won’t say what’s wrong and implies the other should know what’s wrong, because if he says what’s wrong they’ll apologize and try to make it up to him. With how punitive the CBA is for a player under contract to no show his team, Rodgers would need to be fairly liquid to fork over all the money the team can fine him and claw back in that scenario. His “people” have probably informed him of this. For someone with such a huge ego, I don’t think retiring because of a tiff would satisfy him either, so really he has no good options but to play mind games and then show up in July and say he’s moving forward
  18. Is there fan voting? If so, Yelich is still a big marketable star for MLB he could get voted in
  19. For who? Yardley? This is the downside to the Adames trade, guys like Perdomo have to pitch because they don’t have anyone else
  20. If they’re making roster decisions over $400,000, they shouldn’t be a major league team
  21. But maybe that is just it, Carr is good enough to win with, is on a cap friendly contract. The potential cost in acquiring Rodgers in terms of draft picks and salary cap problems might not be that enticing for a team who has good enough but not elite talent at QB. Or maybe the converse is true, if the Packers soften in their stance and consider trading Rodgers, if they got Derek Carr in return they would get substantially less draft capital in the deal as opposed to a team that doesn't have a QB to begin with.
