  1. I always do a slight chuckle when someone has a post that lists him in our strong pitching depth. Like you would want that guy anywhere hear your 25 man roster. Wilerson gotta be over 10. Given the situation, what choice does Counsell have? At any rate, this crap show in Pit has a silver lining as Counsell is forcing Stearns hand on Machado or Escobar + Dozier. Bases loaded.....Villar....another so. Trade arcia, burns, broxton. I'm off the trade for Machado bandwagon now. Machado alone is not going to fix everything that ails this team, nor is any other stud on the trading block be it a pitcher or position player. No need to give up prospects anymore.
  2. Cain, Yelich, Saladino and Aguilar should all sit out tomorrow. Not even kidding about this.
  3. Six runs for the Pirates and this is their Sunday lineup.
  4. This is absolutely pathetic. Fatigue doesn't explain away 1 run in 17 innings, and most likely will be 18.
  5. You are never as good as you think you are when things are going well and you are never as bad as you think you are when things are going bad. The Red Sox, Yankees, Astros, Royals and Orioles beg to differ.
  6. I guess I just don't believe the coaches have that big of an impact. I mean does Coles not get credit for the ascension of Aguilar to the degree that we blame him for the predictable regression of guys like Pina? It's not his fault Braun is getting old, Shaw is playing hurt and a good chunk of the primary hitters have spent time on the DL. I mean, I'm fine with Coles getting fired as a shake up move but is that really going to change anything. I'm more on the side of the coin that says this team just lacks the overall talent level to compete at the highest level right now. The offensive woes started way before the injuries. In fact, it started right around this time last year.
  7. Is there a time when we are allowed to swear on here? Because this would be a good time to swear. What a stupid decision by Villar.
  8. Apparently JJ is allowed to pitch with a one run defecit.
  9. The funny thing is part of CC's defense is that he can't pitch 90 games. He's on pace to pitch only 51. And when he does finally get an appearence to CC's liking he'll get hit around pretty good due to rusting away in the bullpen.
  10. Let's see if they can beat Clint Hurdl's version of a Sunday lineup.
  11. Now because of a bad strike call Perez will swing at everything now. And that's the result.
  12. I agree with him running, stay out of the double play. Aguilar has had two hangers to hit, watched one and fouled one off... So much for staying out of the double play.
  13. You have to consider sending Broxton. Unless Aguilar is pinch hitting of course.
  14. Miller should've argued that passionately the first time. That was a legitimate strike three.
  15. If anything, Shaw is starting to make opposing managers rethink using the shift on him.
