  1. That inning could've been so much better. First three hitters reach and only one run?
  2. Well isn't this a fine how do you do? Now we will be subjected to Suter. And with two men and one out. See you guys tomorrow. What a terrible day to be a Brewers fan.
  3. Tom Haudricourt's tweet. Stearns said #Brewers wanted Franklin's LH bat up here. Interesting part of that is Villar is batting .303 from the left side with .346 OBP. We are told Villar is healthy but he is out of current rotation, it would seem. I don't know what Villar did to ruffle the feathers of the powers that be, but at some point you have to put your best lineup on the field and try to win games.
  4. He's a free swinging, strikeout and ground ball machine. He can be left in the doghouse forever. He's certainly a better option than Sogard and Franklin. .277 is nothing to sneeze at.
  5. Seems to be career threatening. Bummer. Maybe Stearns can sign Uecker out of the booth to take his place. Even his .200 lifetime batting average is better than what Sogard and Franklin could provide.
  6. This entire situation is just another chapter in how glacially slow this organization reacts to conflict. I also don't understand why Villar contiues to ride the pine while Franklin now takes his spot at 2B.
  7. Stearns said they chose Frankiln over Orf because he can hit left handed. Well whoop dee doo.
  8. Dubon tears left ACL placed on CS DL. Per Tom Haudricourt. My biggest fear came to fruition.
  9. Sogard optioned to AAA. Woot Woot!!! Maybe he'll hit .150 in CS in that altitude. Also the contract of Nick Franklin has been selected from AA and Vogt has been placed on the 60 day DL.
  10. Last year, Davies would have fit your criteria of someone a "business owner" would have fired, and then he did great. Managers who panic when players go through slumps are typically the ones who end up getting fired. However, Sogard doesn't have much track history of success and will likely not be on the 25-man much longer. There are slumps, and then there are Eric Sogard slumps. Sogard is unique in that he really doesn't have any upside to warrant the patience that CC and Stearns are showing for him. He's just not major league material, and is almost 32 years old. Davies was 24 years old last year during his slump and certainly has upside.
  11. I realize the local beat writers have to be cheerleaders for the most part, but how can they defend CC's rational to keep plugging Sogard in the lineup to work out of his slump? Could you imagine a business owner running his operations this way? Having an employee who day after day just isn't getting the job done, and doing it very poorly at that, and costing the company money but will not fire that person because he just needs more time to figure it out? Not wanting to fire the guy because he's such a good guy? His business would go under.
  12. Sheesh Counsell, is it law you have to double switch the very last out of the inning? At least keep the better defender in the game and sacrifice one spot in the lineup.
  13. Coles needs to go. It may not be entirely his fault but he probably needs to be scapegoated to send a message that this can't continue any longer.
  14. I take it everyone has given up on winning this game. It sure doesn't look good.
  15. Thought you were dropping it. Evidently not. I thought about editing that post to include "until he soils himself again" but didn't feel like putting in the effort.
  16. And people wonder why we don't lay off Sogard. But hey, at least his LD rate and hard contact percentage are better than Villar and Perez.
