  1. And Lyles...... Faria has been the least impressive of the pitching pickups. Perhaps the most long-term upside though.
  2. Perhaps our GM might know what he's going (i.e. Pomeranz and Black)
  3. Counsell's itchy trigger finger 3rd time through the order. Man Lyles has been good. He's the reason this team still has any kind of postseason hope, however minute it is.
  4. I think Taylor ranks higher than Stokes simply because he has the ability to play all three OF positions well defensively. He's the best defender of the three. Probably the most upside as an all-around hitter as well. That said, none of those guys had very good seasons, other than Taylor for about the last 3 weeks or so.
  5. At this point I'm down with Spangenberg at 3B and Perez at 2B until Moose is back. Or really anyone else at 3B.
  6. That isn't directed at me, is it? I mean, i suppose the "for worse" part might be a little harsh. I agree ... Burnes' stuff is too good to truly understand how he could wash out. He was damn near dominant in the pen last year. I really don't understand what happened.
  7. Corbin Burnes is back ... for better or worse.
  8. Ehh ... Stokes has some talent, and I guess is still young enough at 23 to put things together. But he isn't a good enough defender to regularly play CF, and he just doesn't have the offensive upside and profile to ever really be a regular in the corner OF. Hate to lose talented players, but that's part of the business. Stokes won a Rawling Gold Glove Award as a Minor League in AA Last Year https://www.milb.com/biloxi/news/troy-stokes-jr-awarded-rawlings-gold-glove/c-297386960 As a corner outfielder.

  10. He's also not a CF. I really wish people would stop assuming that Grisham and Cain are interchangeable defensively. They are not.
  11. Wow ... talk about a "complain just to complain" post. *sigh These issues have been discussed pretty ad nauseum.
  12. He has company in this offense unfortunately. man, would have been nice to steal one from these guys, and this one could have been it.
  13. Was that called strike as bad as it looked on Gameday?
  14. Austin, Freitas, Perez and Pina were all on the bench. I would have felt better about any of them, honestly.
  15. I love how active Summers is at ILB, but he's raw. He's got the athleticism to be a player, though.
  16. In other words you don’t think he’s a candidate yet for a 6 year extension? Best I'd do is five years with a team option.
  17. This aged beautifully LOL The Cubs are kinda proving that they are just as much of a playoff contender as the Brewers.
  18. Grisham has a lot of nice intangibles that tell me he very well may be a good player one day. He's looking overmatched lately, though.
  19. No one. Volatile bullpens are volatile.
  20. Forearm tightness. That can be bad. https://climbingtalshill.com/2014/03/21/tommy-john-surgery-draft/ Very bad
