  1. Other way around. Eh, sure enough. Guess I read the wrong speculation story.
  2. Just as Lester settles in. Ugh. I don't think it's possible to not hate the Cubs. What an unlikeable team. Even Mr. Likable, Zobrist, has chinks in his armor because he missed most of the season going through a nasty divorce, allegedly brought about because he cheated on his wife.
  3. Now he's coming out of the game. What a shady move. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.
  4. Yep, that bean ball shook Houser. He was cruising. Really sucks that Russell was allowed to ham it up as much as he did.
  5. And those guys will probably be the difference in the game today, because baseball. Gotta hope that Braun and Cain are healthy enough to make a difference today.
  6. Ok, what I’m reading(between the lines)is you like but don’t love the pen right now. In your 1st grouping, the solids, Only difference is you have Albers and I have Peralta. No ... the difference is you have them rated by "good" and "bad". That's my biggest peeve. That just isn't a great way to rate a bullpen. And yes, Albers has been much, much more consistent than Peralta this year. It's really no contest. A couple meh outings in the last week isn't going to change that viewpoint.
  7. Solid pen arms based on experience, talent, and more than 2 appearances of past success, but have the possibility of blowing up because they are not studs this year = Albers, Claudio, Guerra, Hader, Pomeranz, Suter. Young/inexperienced pen arms who are volatile and might be fine day-to-day = Black, Faria, Jackson, Peralta, Taylor Williams, Devin Williams Shots in the dark: Burnes, Nelson There are a bunch of decent arms in this pen who have the capability of getting hot here in the stretch run, but could also look horrible. There are no shut-down guys outside of Hader when he's on. Black has the kind of stuff to possibly get there. So does Peralta. Obviously not there yet. Your takes are crazy because grading the pen game-to-game based on extremely small samples is kinda nuts. There are no "good" or "bad" relievers on this team. Jut a bunch of guys with good stuff that will look great at times and bad at times. Like most any pen, but probably a little worse this year.
  8. Coan has improved. Going to be interesting to see what he does against better secondary competition.
  9. I should have put Peralta in the good as soon as it was apparent he had his control back, which was down in AAA. What you call reactionary, I call obvious. Suter the same thing, but for different reasons. Since he’s thrown his first pitch in rehab almost 6 weeks ago he’s been fantastic. Think I waited long enough. I believe it’s time for people to stop maligning this pitching staff. The pitching should now have shown itself to be the reason this team is still relevant, that, and Yelich. Kind of reminds me of last September. If we don’t make the playoffs, imo, it’ll be because we just don’t have the horses on offense, because of injury. Not because we can’t pitch. And what's the reaction to being called out on the crazy? DOUBLE DOWN!!!
  10. That was my first thought too. Just seems like a guy the Patriots will take. I kinda hope the Packers explore bringing him in. I wouldn’t mind having Adams and Brown as our 1-2 punch. Chances of the Patriots finding a way to fit Brown under the cap = 90%. They just find a way. And he would immediately discard the diva weirdness and be a stud again. The Packers chances of even being interested in Brown, I think, are less than 1%. Doesn't fit the culture and is a "me" and drama guy, which that team outwardly tries to avoid. And I don't think Brown would push his personality aside as a Packer.
  11. Well ... Devin Williams isn't currently in the big leagues, so ...
  12. Just watched the highlight again, I think that was Preston Smith. I didn't notice Gary all night and he is not in the box score. Yeah, I was mistaken on the last play ... but he did have two pressures earlier in that last Bears drive, though. He played 6 plays total all night. Kind of a disappointment, but it was his first action ever, and I expect that he'll make an impact at some point this season.
  13. Brew crew 92, you are the absolute king of recency bias and small sample sizes. You really need to create a Twitter account and join Brewers Twitter, because your takes would play perfectly on that forum.
  14. Not what I’m saying, and you have to know this, but instead of challenging my very specific take, you tangent. No one can challenge you on a take because every one of your takes is borderline crazy, and you don't listen to anyone who challenges you on them.
  15. No kidding! Blaming Counsell for last night's pen management is failing to see the forest through the trees. Jackson has been good lately, and Albers, while not great, has been the one semi-stable pitcher in the pen. I'm so sick of these hindsight is 20/20 arguments when something doesn't work. Like I said last night, trying to choose which member of the pen to use is like trying to determine what is the least flammable gas to throw on a fire. Heck, our most consistent reliever, Pomeranz, came in last night in a tough spot and proceeded to give up a homer that hasn't landed yet. Whatever Counsell does, he's damned.
  16. Love that Rashan Gary had the pressure to force the pick at the end as well. He didn't do a ton tonight, but the potential is very much there.
  17. I really don't think they are. I think that's an average-ish offense. Their skill guys are pretty solid. QB play is going to hold them back. Their scheme and game plan was atrocious tonight as well.
  18. Galvis is at -0.3 with the Reds. He was the replacement you championed. Who else were they going to go and get? Perhaps stop doubling down and think just a little bit before hitting Submit.
  19. The Bears offense is bad. I mean, downright horrible. But this defense stands the chance of being pretty dang good.
  20. Hey ... the two FA OLBs share a sack, and Amos the clincher pick. Love it! Huge, huge win to start the year!
  21. If its a good throw MVS likely gets a 1st and it's game over.
  22. I give Lafleur credit for being aggressive there on offense. It didn't work, but it will pay off down the road. Better than ramming Jamaal Williams into the line 3 times for 1 1/2 yards.
  23. Scott is an absolute stud! 63 yards! Man, that was HUGE!
  24. Well that drive wasn't ideal. Need another boomer from Scott here.
