  1. At this point i want Zach Davies to not give up another run all season and coast to the Cy Young award.
  2. It's ok ... he was just getting in his daily correction wasn't my post but you already know you are wrong again. LOL what? What am I wrong about? I literally agreed fully with you that this team can use another pen arm. I disagreed on your idea that Hader is being overused, and that was backed by numbers and several other posters. Others are seeing through your crap here.
  3. Considering how rare it is that this team drafts and develops high-end arms, I get the excitement. Burnes has everything you're looking for in a big league starter. If he can continue looking as good as he did tonight, it won't be long before he's pitching very high leverage innings again. But I agree that he needs to string together at least a few weeks of good outings before he's handed a huge pen role.
  4. That wasn't the part of your post that people were calling you on. I think most every fan here sees a need in the pen. I'm sure there is an urge at times to use Hader more often, but I give them credit to sticking to the plan regarding his usage. The Brewers really haven't done anything wrong Hader-wise, and after almost two full seasons of use, I doubt they are suddenly going to start misusing him now.
  5. If Burnes can get out his own way mentally, he certainly has the stuff to excel in the back end of the pen. That was on full display tonight. Finding consistency is key for him ... well, and not grooving fastballs.
  6. It was kind of an under-the-radar move at the time, but I get the feeling that they were depending on Bobby Wahl to be a big contributor in the pen as well. It's a wonder the pen has been as effective as it has given those losses. I imagine that another pen arm is probably priority #1.
  7. It's a small sample obviously, but Kimbrel's ERA with the Cubs so far is 13.50. I expect him to get better, but that isn't exactly a great start to his Cubs career.
  8. Obviously? Because you say so?? Again the fact that you don't agree doesn't make the other point of view wrong but I think you know that since I have to correct you just about every day. Not because anyone says so, because the objective data seems to support Hader not being overused based on his ranks relative to other relievers in appearances/IP & the rarity with which he throws on consecutive days. Thank you for your much more dignified response than mine. I shouldn't get sucked down into the drivel, but it's tough.
  9. I also don't disagree that they could use another back end arm. But the narrative that they are overusing or misusing Hader is obviously false. Obviously? Because you say so?? Again the fact that you don't agree doesn't make the other point of view wrong but I think you know that since I have to correct you just about every day. Never mind. It's not worth it. Just not worth it.
  10. I also don't disagree that they could use another back end arm. But the narrative that they are overusing or misusing Hader is obviously false.
  11. There are 96 pitchers with more relief appearances than Hader so far. There are 18 pitchers with more innings in relief to this point. Only three of his 31 appearances have come on consecutive days. He threw a total of 63 pitches over the nine days prior to today. But none of those fit the narrative that this team is bad and continuously makes poor decisions
  12. Yelich and Moose are hitting lefty pitchers better than any of our RH batters. If the Reds throw a lefty reliever against them, more power to them.
  13. Are you comparing Davies to Bauer? I hope not. Davies is ok. Bauer is a Verlander type horse that is able to throw more pitches and pitch deeper into games than any pitcher in baseball, that’s ready to explode this year and next. People disagree with you. A lot. I think a lot of it is because many of your ideas are pretty outlandish, and you take offense whenever they are challenged. That’s not a great way to maintain sanity on a fan message board. In my opinion (by the way, that phrase would suit you well often)
  14. Also, dealing off another young, cost-controlled starter who is having a good season in Davies makes below zero sense.
  15. If this is the kind of player movement you are expecting/hoping for this season, there is no other way to say it. You're going to be disappointed. Because it just isn't going to happen.
  16. What’s better for this team, an Ace for 2 playoffs, and 2 stud pitchers plus a stud outfielder? or Hader for 4 yrs and Burnes and Ray and Supek. I want the guaranteed Ace for two years, with prospects that have more upside. What does one deal have to do with the other? I don't think a team has ever made all-in moves and rebuild moves in the same season. A few of these moves make sense individually, but in combination it is kinda nuts. And not in a good way.
  17. Well ... this would be ... something.
  18. I didn't watch the game as I was camping all weekend. Checked the score and saw that they won, and was happy. Then I read the IGT from the game today, and got depressed ...
  19. This nails it. I like Keston, too, but he's one guy, a rookie. He isn't going to suddenly turn this team into the '27 Yankees. Good little player, and has all the tools to eventually be a star. Eventually.
  20. It does suck that a good, popular guy had to lose his spot, but if anything, this puts the team on notice that none of them are going to be on retainer any longer. Counsell has loved Perez for years, but he simply wasn't doing what he was paid to do any longer. If I'm Jesus Aguilar, Manny Pina or one of several pitchers, I'm looking over my shoulder.
  21. Chill out, dude. I don't want to allege that he's just trolling now, but if the shoe fits ...
